I was in the Miami WorldCenter area for a lunch at Sixty Vines. I saw Posman Books on my way there from the parking garage and knew I had to stop in afterwards. Books are my love language!!! Especially freaking super cute and charming book stores. I kept my promise and stopped here after lunch. I immediately noticed the JELLYCATS stuffed animals and almost died. I am not even joking when I tell you that my oldest who turns 15-years old on Monday went out of her way to tell me she wanted a Jellycats red velvet cake and Jellycats pizza. Guess what I found at Posman Books? Exactly those two specific ones. I was over the moon ecstatic!!! I told the staff about this and even they were excited for me. I said I would much rather purchase at a local store vs. Amazon. Ha. Carlos & Hannah were working today when I stopped in. They couldn't have been more hospitable. First off, I walked in with a big bag of goodies I snagged from The Container Store and after grabbing the Jellycats items, I asked if I they could keep my bag behind the register while I looked around. Because I need to browse. They were incredibly sweet. I asked if Posman Books was a franchise or private business. They gave me the history behind it and said this was a family-owned business that was started by Gene Posman. They have several locations of which I have actually been to the one in Chelsea Market in NYC. I remember loving this bookstore when I was up there too. Bought lots of cool goodies. First off, let me just start by saying I love the whole vibe here! It's so bright, colorful and full of cool gifts, stationary, toys, puzzles, buttons, magnets, cards, fun gadgets and of course books! Everything is arranged so meticulously and so beautifully. My OCD was happy! Also, they had almost every Jellycat option possible. You can find them in almost every nook and cranny on the bookshelves and then some. I love all the fun items here. Like this is legit MY HAPPY PLACE!!! Love books and love cool fun gift items. That makes me happy. All they needed was to add a coffee/bakery and more seating for lounging. They did have a cute little nook where the main area and children's area split up. I need to bring my Yelp Bestie Shula back here because she would love it too. We love bookstores. Period. Thanks Carlos & Hannah for chatting toast and thank you for the wonderful service. I will definitely be back since this Posman Books is the first and only location in Florida right now. They just opened maybe 2 months ago. Stop by and check them out. You won't be sorry. And you may go broke if you come in here. Lol. Just kidding, they have an assorted price range and can cater to whatever you may or may not be looking for.

Such a delight to walk into a bookstore again! Reminders of when I was young & would go to the Waldens on Miracle Mile! It was my favorite place to be! There is a very large selection of current best sellers & some older notable reads. A nice section of books as well in other languages to pick from...not to mention all kinds of knick knacks to compliment your book purchase.

As an Author and avid reader I was pleased to be introduced to this gem by friends. The selection of books is great and easy to navigate, while the space is bright and aesthetically pleasing. Very centrally located as well. We all had a good time looking for our fav book. I even had a chat with the clerk who was very helpful about adding my books to their inventory, so hopefully by the time you check them out, that will be a thing!

You will definitely find something special and enchanting here. I had to limit myself because I had to keep in mind what would fit in my luggage, but I was still able to have a good haul. This store has the usual categories for museum gift shops, like jewelry, gifts and children's toys, but there were also some more offbeat categories like dog toys and clever housewares that really make the assortment stand out. They also serve coffee and I think some light bites here, so there are some tables set up to enjoy that. The girl at the counter was super- nice too- it just felt like a really cool place to hang and discover neat stuff. If visiting the Wolfsonian, I would 100% recommend capping off your visit here. I'm so happy with the items I got, and would easily comeback on my next trip to Miami Beach to acquire some more nifty things.

Opened to the public in 1995, the Wolfsonian was created by millionaire Mitchell "Micky" Wolfson, Jr., a Miami Beach native and collector and expert on modern design, architecture, and the decorative arts. He began acquiring much of what makes up the collection in the 1970's and he stored it at the Washington Storage Company facility on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach which is a building from 1926. By 1986, 90% of the building housed his collection so he bought the building and established The Wolfsonian Foundation in order to preserve the collection and make it available for research. In 1992 architect Mark Hampton to expanded and renovated the Washington Storage Company building, converting it into a museum and research center. Hampton and architect architect William Kearns created a modernist lobby, museum café and shop. Upstairs are permanent and temporary galleries along with a library, offices, and storage. The museum is one of seven campuses of F.I.U. University. The gift shop for the museum is a very unique and elegant space. Displayed on a beautiful 1915 shelving system by Snead & Co, the Design Store sells a carefully curated collection of design inspired travel accessories, stationary, bath items, household goods, watches, jewelry, clocks, toys, and books that include award-winning Wolfsonian publications. I loved the cat yoga magnets, children's toy flamingo, and book, and note cards. The is the perfect place to find a unique gift for someone or something for yourself. The Cafe is a brand new addition to the museum and it serves ethically sourced coffee, drinks, cake, and pastries The Wolfsonian partnered with the Nandan Estate, an organic farm in the hills south of Nilgiri, at 4000 feet in Tamil Nadu, India. The coffee picks up the flavors of the cardamom, black pepper, chill and orange from the trees also grown on the farm. The café at the Design Museum is their second espresso bar to open. ,A museum entrance ticket entitles you to a ten percent discount at the cafe. You don't have to pay a museum admission to visit the Wolfsonian Design Store + Cafe. There is a separate entrance on Washington or you can enter from inside the museum. This summer is the perfect time to discover the Design Store + Cafe because the ground floor of the museum is free all summer as the upper floors of the museum are renovated and closed to the public.

The Miami Fair Trade Market is located in the beautiful and historic Coral Gables United Church of Christ. The church was built in the 1920's by Coral Gables founder and designer George Merrick in honor of his father Solomon who was a minister. It is located across the street from the Biltmore Hotel. The idea for the shop came from senior pastor, Rev. Laurie Hafner, who wanted an alternative in Miami to all the shops that use child labor, sweat shops, and ither inhumane practices. The mission is to "support artisans in over 30 developing countries by purchasing their indigenous products made under safe working conditions. Whole village standards of living are raised with trade, not aid. Fair Trade is a trading partnership based on dialogue, transparency, and respect. This system of exchange seeks to create greater equity and partnership in the international trading system." You can rest assured that the mainly women artists are paid a fair wage and there is no child labor involved. I love the message of this shop, a hand up not a handout. It is small but carefully curated with beautiful and affordable things. I ended up purchasing a bracelet made of clay beads hand rolled in Haiti for my friends present. I was able to include a card in the organza bag my bracelet was placed in that explained the meaning of it. After looking through all of the beautiful jewelry I ended up purchasing a silver chain from Bali and paperclip link chain as an early birthday present for myself. The shop also sells award winning olive oil, notecards made by a local artist, tunics, gorgeous scarfs one of which was modeled by Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a picture, hand made toys, and accessories. They even have some Easter items in right now. You can read little signs about the items you are purchasing and the part of the world your purchase is benefitting. Donna helped me and I left feeling like I made a friend. I can't say enough good things about this precious shop. Follow their Facebook page and Instagram to see what is new. Next time you need a one of a kind gift or just a treat for yourself, head here and put some good out in the universe by supporting people in the developing parts of the world.

There are myriad unique gift items that you can't find anywhere else! The clerk Donna is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I purchased an item called The African Safari Tea Party with beautifully hand-carved little animals, each surrounded by teacups while sitting around an exquisitely carved, hand-painted table. ALL of these pieces were only $42.00. There is such a wide variety of items to choose from and stories to go with some. The items are very reasonably priced. The jewelry and clothing are breathtaking and completely unique. Shopping at Fair Trade is an eye-opener and a sheer delight. I recommend it highly - not to mention, your purchase is a step forward toward the eradication of poverty, while creating higher standards of living for the artisans and their families. I can't wait to go back! What's not to love...unique items at fair prices while giving back and promoting fairness to well-deserving, talented artisans from a variety of global communities? A resounding two thumbs up!!
