I called Hudson Framing in advance to ask about a couple prints that I needed to get professionally framed due to their unusual size. I wasn't looking for anything super fancy, and let Lorene know I was looking for budget-friendly options over the phone. I also let her know I had Covid concerns, as I was going to visit in the middle of a surge and I had high risk family members staying with me. She was kind and understanding over the phone, and when I got to the store, she immediately put on a mask and welcomed me in. During my visit, a couple other people entered the store, and Lorene stopped and kindly asked them to wear a mask - and even offered to give them one - saying *she* had her own Covid concerns. I was honestly touched by that gesture. She worked with me on options for the prints, and offered guidance on mats, materials, etc. She looked for good quality frame options at a lower price point, and was able to find something that was ultimately exactly what I wanted and at a lower price than I expected. I went to pick up my prints a couple weeks later, not realizing it was on the same day as the Hudson art festival. I somehow found parking about 3-4 blocks away. When I picked up my rather sizable prints, Lorene asked me where I was parked. I told her, and she offered to help me carry the prints. I insisted I was fine to do it on my own, and she asked how I would carry them. I fumbled tucking them both under my arms, and she took one and started walking out the door, insisting that she help me. Turns out, I needed her assistance, and enjoyed a nice chat with her as we walked to my car. Lorene is just so wonderful. I am getting a third print done to fit my wall, and will absolutely be bringing it - along with future art - to Hudson framing. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this store and Lorene.

Not wanting to return to that location again, I stopped into the Framingham location while in the area. I don't know her name but the woman who did my return had a greenish blue tint in her hair and she was very sweet. I thought to check the Easter clearance before leaving and found 2 of the 3 items I actually did need, so I purchased those and hopefully I can find another next year. Everything worked out well thanks to the Framingham store!

There wasn't a huge variety at the time I was there, but I think a lot of stuff got cleaned out for graduation . They also have a new area by the front door that is for Birthdays, which could be a cute idea for your crafty wee ones! The store always is pretty well stocked has lots of fun craft ideas for kids and is always super clean and organized ! I only wish that they still had regular registers instead of those self checkouts. It seems they've reduced staff. Make sure to look for coupons on their app or online before you check out. They usually have at least 20% off somewhere. Lots of parking as it's in shoppers world, but that corner can get pretty packed.

As an artist I can tell that this shop is run by fellow artists, the framing examples on their walls are gorgeous and they have a visible workshop in the back. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for beautiful and unique work. They have an impressive stock and were the most down to earth, hands-on framing shop I've visited near Worcester. The woman working there helped me find an elusive mat board I was looking for, completely saving my upcoming art show! Where other shops offered to order it and overcharge me for an entire sheet, she had just enough in stock to sell me the exact amount I needed.

When I resurrected them to present them to a shop, they were refused because of chips in the print. Nothing had happened to cause those chips; it seemed the inks had simply peeled off. I was devastated. With much trepidation I returned to Gaston Art & Frame with the prints. This was my only and last resort. I showed the Mr. Gaston the giclees and explained the circumstances. Much to my relief and gratification he agreed that there had been problem with the print process or the canvas two years ago and said the words I thought I would never hear: that he would do them over. Two years later! Gaston Art & Frame stands by their work! I picked up the prints a week later. They are perfect. Thank you!

It featured a matte with many panes in different shapes and sizes, for kids' photos. Being the nostalgic type, I refused to let her throw it out - but what kind of proper framer would deign take on such a lowly task? As it turned out, Jordan and Brandon at Pitch Black were happy to rescue it. They all but rebuilt it, stiffened and straightened the matte, and handed back a handsome, drum-tight frame that will feature my kids for the next 30 years. When I returned a month later, to ask if they would print some photographs, I got to spend some time with them and observe their studio in action. I was super impressed - not just with the operation (from color correction to matte cutting, frame building and glass cutting) but with their body of work. It felt like all the presentations were different, not just variations on a theme, and I could see how much effort they put into making other people's art look spectacular. The pricing was excellent, and their positive attitudes made me want to print more, frame more, and share more of my work. For me, that's an added bonus of Pitch Black Editions: Brandon and Jordan are really cool, artistically inclined guys who are willing to do exactly what you want, or devise something fresh if you're looking to elevate your work. Cool guys, professional quality, great prices and frames that are built to last. Swing by The Bradford Mill, look for a door on the left side of the parking lot, say hello and never look back. You're in great hands with Pitch Black Editions.
