Our first night here we come for dinner on a rainy night after driving about 5 hours. We are tired and hungry and this place truly lifted our spirits. There was local music being played and the service was so warm and friendly. I had my first German beer and it was the best beer I ever had. The food was excellent. We came back for lunch 2 days later and had an even better meal at lunch time. Again, service was excellent. If I lived locally, this would be my go-to place.

I was surprised to see how large the room was. When you enter the room there's a large open closet with bathrobes and slippers and plenty of storage area. Bathroom is a good size. There's a sitting/living room. Bedroom is large. Beautiful place with buffet breakfast. Staff is accommodating and friendly.

I did not appreciate having to buy bottled or pay for tap water, but the restaurant food (breakfast buffet lunch, and dinner) was excellent. Service was immediate and spot on. The older, handmade parts of the building were beautiful. Some of the upgrades are dated, but definitely a minor point. I would not come when it is very hot, but with cool nights and open windows, it was great (Sept 15th). Can be invaded by very large tour roups, but big enough to get away.

There is about 15-20 rooms here I think located on one floor. The rooms are pretty small and the big bed takes away most of the open space in the room. You have to squeez things in and space is at a premium. The curtains are not the best and it gets bright early. The rooms back onto a long balcony with a nice view. The room has most amenities and the bathroom was tiny. The shower was also very small and it just felt cramped overall. It was ok for one night but I would recommend a bigger room for a longer stay. Breakfast here is very nice with homemade muesli, nice bread and organic spreads. They make you nice coffee and I loved the breakfast. A nice hotel in countryside Bavaria.

The crew has been very accommodating to my lack of German and have greeted me only with smiles.
