There's a Deli and then there's a Delicatessen. Pot Belly Deli is a Delicatessen it's a place you're greeted as soon upon entrance. You can sit and enjoy or take out and feel like a local. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. This is a place you should go a little out of your way for your deli fix. There's a variety of homemade salads, lunch and dinner platters along with the specialty and standard heroes. On this day I went for breakfast. My order was the Breakfast Hero- The Hungryman and a legit Hungryman has potatoes on it; Potbelly adheres to the guidelines. This Hungryman was made with an almost OCD standard. unwrapped, no cheese stuck to the foil paper, the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection the meats wrapped around in a precision breakfast sammich tactility around the aforementioned eggy wegs. The hero roll was soft yet still chewy. True quality and magically delicious. Potbelly should have a banner for top ranking Suffolk County Breakfast Champions. Potbelly's an early contender for Best of '10 B'kfst Sammich ranking in my book. Don't sleep on this easily missed strip mall location. *The coffee was drinkable if it was stronger this might have leveraged them an extra star.

This place is a hidden Gem in "Polish Town" in Riverhead New York…read more I found this place on Yelp as well as others and thought this was my best shot because the others were too Americanized. I was looking for Pirogen or in Polish Pirogi. I found exactly what I was looking for!!! HOME MADE FRESH PIROGEN!!! I bought many packages and also the cheese blitzes HOME MADE FRESH!! The Pirogen are excellent! I recommended her this place and she literally bought out the store if all the fresh made Pirogen they had just made. I am a Pirogi maven since both my parents were born in Poland and my Jewish heritage spans centuries in this country until the rise of Hitler and the horrid mass execution which took place in Europe, particularly Poland. The bottom line is that they make first rate Pirogen and its definitely with a try!! Tip, in the summer time they have blueberry Pirogen. Wish they would fill and pack them with much more blueberries though.

When I walked into the shop, seeing the various types of sausages and kielbasas hanging put a major smile on my face. I ordered some of those, plus their meatloaf, cured bacon, as well as double smoked bacon. Honestly, the double smoked bacon may have been one of the best pieces of deli meats I have tasted in a very long time. The cured bacon was a very good second choice. Kielbasa was definitely worth buying as well, but the meatloaf I would skip. It wasn't bad, but it was coarser than I'm use to from Muncan in Ridgewood, where I have gotten my meatloaf for decades. In this part of Long Island, I never thought I would be able to find Eastern European cold cuts. Now that I have found them, it will be a regular shopping stop for whenever I'm visiting friends in the area.

The sausage & egg were not large enough for the bagel. This was also one of the more expensive bagel sandwiches I've bought in the area and I don't think the quality matches the price. The place also felt messy and unclean. Maybe the quality and cleanliness would have been better if I got food first thing in the morning, but I don't think I'll be heading back here anytime soon given the other options in the area.

So I made my way over there to try em out. Long Island really rapes you on a bacon egg and cheese, or at least this crap-hole does. Paid something close to $9 and it was god awful. I have a hard time believing this ever could have been good. I see 80-90% of the pix on here are from one dude three years ago, some look good n all, but this place is anything but. Hard pass. Signed - a guy struggling with living on Long Island again.

It's the perfect blend of a traditional Long Island Deli and a Bagel shop. Longer story: I recently moved further east from Huntington into the local area and have been disappointed with the quality of food options around here (or lack thereof), especially when it came to bagels. So much so that each weekend for our morning bagel routine I would try a new bagel spot on yelp. 10-15 bagel spots in and there was nothing that really drew me in. I was hopeful when I saw bagel boss was opening a location in yaphank, but I tried it twice and both times were terrible. It was expensive, rather lackluster food quality, and they got my orders wrong both times whether ordering in person or on the app. I finally came across this place on yelp, which markets mainly as a deli (doesn't even come up on Apple Maps when you search for bagels), but saw another review that highlighted their bagel options. So tried it out. We finally found our morning bagel spot! There's not a huge selection or variety of bagels unless you get there early, but they're all fresh and delicious and they have all the staples. Their deli sandwiches are also amazing, very generous portions for the price and again, everything is fresh and tastes great. Will definitely be coming back regularly to this spot. Don't let the looks outside deceive you, it's a great place!

I first fried up a few and added them to a small pot of marinara sauce. When we ate it, there were hard lumps of what I would call grizzle in the sausage. I figured I didn't let them cook down enough to render all of the fat so yesterday I fried up a bunch again and added then to a pot of sauce and let them cook down for a much longer time. Same result with the lumps of grizzle. Although the flavor was good I have come to the conclusion that once again another pork place is adding cuts into the sausage that don't belong there. I threw what I had left in the freezer into the garbage. Why is it that no one makes a good sausage without it having hard grizzle or bone fragments anymore? I can remember when I was young and my mother made sausage in the sauce this was never an issue. They were always easy to chew and delicious. Now you have to worry about breaking your teeth! I am sadly giving up on trying to find good Italian sausage. Since Swan Butcher closed in Bethpage, no one knows how to make it anymore. I am sorry to say we will not be back.

It's a quaint neighborhood deli with over 100 years of history, which is why I kept giving it chance after chance. I've ordered from this deli many times. They have frequently gotten my order wrong, but I never complained. I simply accepted it and moved on. On Father's Day, I ordered three egg sandwiches around 10:00 a.m. I arrived at 10:30 to pick them up and still waited another 15 minutes. After spending about $35, the order was wrong. Again, I let it go. Today was the final straw. I ordered two egg sandwiches and a small deli iced tea for delivery. The total was $33 before tip. The owner, John, delivered the order himself. He rang my Ring doorbell twice but never knocked. We completed the exchange without issue. When I opened the bag, the order was wrong--again. I called and politely asked to speak with the owner. I explained that my order had been made incorrectly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, John hung up on me. I called back three more times, and each time either he or his staff hung up on me. I drove to the deli to speak with him face-to-face. His response was simply, "That's unfortunate," and he refused to remake the sandwiches or offer any refund or solution. Everyone makes mistakes. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. I wasn't angry about an incorrect sandwich--I was shocked by the complete lack of customer service, accountability, and basic respect. After years of overlooking mistakes and trying to support a local business, this experience has guaranteed I will never return. There are plenty of delis that appreciate their customers and stand behind their service. Unfortunately, Maple St. Deli isn't one of them.
