A friend signed us up for the Takata Pot class, and we had such a great time! Our instructor, Salima, was fantastic. she guided us every step of the way, making it an enjoyable experience. You can BYOB to the class, which made it even more fun. Last year I had made a mug and since it was a private event I got to not only bring drinks but also 420 friendly. Our group was smaller this time, but they have plenty of space for larger groups as well. It was a great opportunity to get creative and design our pieces however we wanted. You leave your masterpiece there to dry and can return to pick it up on a different day. They also offer other classes and events. We'll definitely be back!

I literally CAN NOT believe people have left 1 star reviews for POT LA. This space is beautifully curated in vibes and culture -- one of its kind. It's the only POC pottery space in LA & how could you hate on that?! I brought a team of 20+ for a private event and the communication from Vanny and admin team were punctual and thorough. The team loved the class and none of our mugs shattered + pickup was easily coordinated. I loved the class so much that I'm currently in a handbuilding series and convincing more friends to join. Mandy, don't listen to the haters!!! You are changing the ceramics culture in LA. Thank you for all you and your team do.

Love this studio!! Yes, it is a pottery studio - wheel throwing and hand building and more kinds of workshops I believe. My friends and I came here for a intro to wheel throwing class and enjoyed every moment of it!! Our instructor was so helpful and demonstrated how to center our pieces on the wheel. Check out their site and sign up for a class!! Street parking

I've always wanted to try pottery, and I'm so glad my first experience was at POT. The wheel class I took was amazing with a great instructor. It felt like there was plenty of time to both learn and create. Working the clay is definitely a skill that takes practice, but I can't wait to return for more. I highly recommend giving a class at POT as a fun experience gift.

What an experience! I see why people love wheel throwing. When you're really present in the moment, its relaxing and grounding. I came this past Sunday for the drop in beginner wheel throwing class with a friend and had such a great time! Angel was our instructor and he was sooo patient and easy going. And the best part is... its BYOB!

I've taken two classes at Pot Gardens so far - the Mug & Wheel Spinning classes. Two different instructors and they were both excellent at instruction and very patient. I will definitely be taking more classes here and consider private events as well. This spot is a vibe!

I have been creating pottery since January and it has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies. This was my first time at POT Gardens and it was an amazing experience. Christina was our instructor and I participated in the one time class creating a pour over for coffee! I have never hand built before but felt like a professional after this session! They give you everything you need to make your piece special, and it's so organized and clean in the studio. I am so looking forward to doing another class! POT gardens is a diverse, inclusive space and that makes it all the more special.

This is my favorite place in Los Angeles! I am so happy I found it! I was looking for a ceramic studio to be able to work on ceramic pieces and have access to a kiln (where ceramic gets fired). I took a class with my sister in January, and it was with Ebony and it was a hand building class. It was a four week long class (met once a week for 2 hours) and Ebony was incredibly patient and kind with me, despite all my never ending questions. She showed us different ways of hand building and we got to work on several projects, which made it so fun. It was also wonderful to be in a POC ceramic studio, with reasonably priced classes and membership. I'm Mexican American and felt like I was in community, which is not something I feel at predominantly white studios. I loved the class so much and my pieces, and found what I felt was an oasis in the concrete jungle of LA. I became a member the following month and go about 3-4 times a week for hours at a time and have met such truly wonderful, inspiring, caring people here (both members and staff). Truly so honored to be a part of the community.

my boyfriend had mentioned pottery to me so I looked up Pot Gardens . Last night as a birthday present I took him to the planter making class taught by Syd. Syd was an amazing instructor , they came up to everyone to check progress and answer any questions. It was a good size class so everyone felt included. The class allowed me to see my boyfriends inner child truly come out. He is already asking for us to go take another class. I cannot wait for our planters to arrive! I would recommend this to anyone for a date night or even just a solo session to learn a new hobby .

Walk in here and you can smell the ambition, acrylic, and caffeine. It's like stepping into a time capsule where brushes still matter, ink still stains, and creativity doesn't come with a subscription fee. The value here and the prices were super reasonable. I came here with my draftsman, a guy who still draws by hand -- a dying breed in a world that runs on Ctrl+Z. Watching him walk these aisles was like watching a monk in a cathedral. Every shelf, every pen, every tube of paint is curated chaos. And the best part? The staff actually care. They know the difference between gouache and watercolor -- and they don't judge you for mispronouncing it. Friendly service, clean restrooms (a small miracle in Los Angeles), and a selection so deep it could inspire Picasso's ghost to start over. From sketchbooks to sculpting tools, markers to mat cutters, they've got everything you need to make something real -- or at least look like you tried. Blick's been around since 1911, and this Beverly Blvd location has kept L.A.'s art scene supplied through every phase -- from punk flyers to NFT hangovers. It's an institution, and it deserves to stay that way. Blick Art Materials is a love letter to real art in a copy-paste world. The service is friendly, the aisles are inspiring, and the supplies are top-notch. If you make anything with your hands, your heart, or even just a stubborn sense of nostalgia -- support this place.
