This Library is very cool!…read more This was my first time visiting this library and I was very impressed with how aesthetically pleasing it looks on the inside, how many breakout rooms there were, a gaming room, separated area's for children's play, teenagers, study space/working space, lounge space for older patrons with bigger lounge chairs, etc. I spent about 2 hours here with some children and they very much enjoyed the children's learning area. There were magnetic busy boards, busy games, wall games, magnetic dominos, puppets, magnetic people mix and match, and the books! While here, I noticed people of all ages, ethnicities and abilities enjoying the services of the library. It was very clean and I was impressed with the spread of variety of things for different groups. There were DnD groups renting out rooms, coders, puzzlers, arts and crafters, and much more. It was a very pleasant and safe experience, we will visit again.

I haven't taken advantage of the other things offered by the library like activity hours for the community, electronic books, computers use in the library etc but i did use the printing service.

I really like this little library! If you're familiar with the area, the new site of this library…read morewill be the open field on Beulah/Silver Lake Blvd, but this review is for the current operation. My kids and I come here a few times a week at least, and they are able to find new books every time. We generally check out about 20 items each time, so this is impressive for a smaller library! I'm not familiar with any sections other than reference (that I needed for school work) and YA fiction, but there seems to be a great variety in all genres. They have a lot of study/quiet areas and quiet rooms, and everyone is respectful of others, giving this place a great atmosphere. They regularly display artwork from the local elementary school, which is cool for the kids to see when they go (especially when their own artwork is featured, haha). And there are lots of monthly events, including activities for kids of all ages like book readings and arts and crafts. Overall, a solid choice in Kingstowne.

I'm a big fan of libraries. Love 'em. And this new location…read morefor the Kingstowne branch of the Fairfax County Public Library system has got some upsides over the old branch at Landsdowne plaza. Buuuut it's also got some aspects that make me go 'whaaaa?' Sunday hours - great. Bigger and roomier and far more natural light - great. More seating - great. Green roof - love it. The library opened a little over a week ago, and an elevator was out of order? I assume that'll be up and running soon? There's an entrance on the ground floor, but it's locked? In the children's section, there's a ledge that looks like a big slide. Kids were playing on it. There are signs that say don't sit or slide on the window ledge. Don't make a fixture that looks like a slide *in the children's section* if it's not to be used that way. Also, signage in the parking garage says to park on the 2nd floor for the library entrance. You enter, go up a level, park, enter .... that's not the library entrance. You're actually supposed to keep going up in the garage, park in the roof. THAT's the parking garage entrance level to the library. Aesthetically, I like the library. I like the expanded hours. But some signage and design choices leave me a bit flummoxed. 3.33 stars

When I walked into the doors of the library to sign up for a new library card, I was very surprised…read moreby how small it was inside. Despite its size, it was packed with moms and their little ones for a story time morning. It was easy to sign up for a card with my license. After my information was in the system, I received my card, a magazine that talked about upcoming library events, and an insert that described how to access digital content. They let me know that all library patrons will have to show proof of residency every five years in order for a card renewal. I also learned about the fee structure for any fines. Luckily, they have a system set up to email and/or text you with reminders, should you want them. Since this particular branch is so small and seems to cater to little ones and their parents, I would probably go to another PW location if I needed to do research or was looking for a variety of academic texts. However, I do appreciate the nice service when signing up for a card and learning more about the PW library system.

If I really want to browse and check out books I go to Chinn which is larger. It would probably be more beneficial to close this location and build a larger more state-of-the-art library in Dale City. Psst -- Prince William take a look at the Germantown, MD new library -- gorgeous~!

I will disclose that I used to work for the library system but am retired. While there is always…read moreroom for improvement, the PWPLS has managed to add community libraries (Montclair, Haymarket, Manassas) and refurbish older buildings, provide additional services like free movies and e-books, and keep traditional programs like story time, all while dealing with a Board of Supervisors that sees the Library as something easily cut from the budget. Great thanks go to the Friends of the Library for raising money to support things like summer reading programs for all ages. If you haven't visited in a while, stop into your local branch and see what they have to offer, all free with a library card.

Fast forward and at age 41, I moved back for 1 year and the library hasn't changed for the better. The selection of books compared to libraries in other counties is poor and the library could use a definite remodeling especially where lighting is concerned. I was sad to see that the library has not continued to improve and for a county this size, it is far too small. By now Woodbridge should have had another new location. I am moving back to Stafford in the Spring and I greatly miss the library there. I feel sorry for the librarians in this area who have to work with such limited materials.
