I like this thrift store in Fayetteville a lot. It is huge with good selection. They have rewards program and discount days through the week where things can get super cheap. I have found nice clothes and shoes here and lots of books. All employees I have encountered have been very friendly too. However, parking can get hectic and very crowded since it's not a big lot and right off of College Ave. Also you do have to sort through items b/c they have both nice items mixed with clothes that have holes and stains. read more

The staff here are really nice and there's a huge selection of items to search from. This is definitely a business you should expect to spend at least an hour at to be able to really look at everything. Each week different color tags are on sale so there is a good rotation of stock going on. My only complaint is the lack of parking. The lot is already pretty small but in the 2 times I've visited I've witnessed a fender bender from someone trying to get out and another lady asked us to move our car because she didn't have enough space to turn around. I don't mind moving the vehicle, but they really need more property space for parking. read more

The whole place reeks of B.O. and it seems that they've done something that keeps shoppers from using their phones for calls or internet. I love this Potter's House location, and it's probably my second favorite thrift store in Northwest Arkansas. The Springdale Potter's house location has the same pricing schematic as the Fayetteville location - New Arrivals, Full Price, 25% off, 50% off, and 50 cents. There are some "designer" items that price higher. I find that the "designer" brands aren't designer so much as they are nice items from more well-known brands - like Banana Republic - though sometimes there will be higher-end items. The selection is not as much as the Fayetteville location - which is OVERWHELMING - but I always find several 50 cent items that are good quality when I visit. The employees at this location are very helpful. Parking is easy to get into and find. I'd recommend against turning left out of the location - it's easier to go out the back way, turn onto Sanders, and hit the light. read more

To find the best deals at Potter's House you have to know the system. The clothes have different colored plastic "tags" as well as the price tag. You need to look at the front wall of the store right below the ceiling to see the pricing chart (it's also posted outside the store by the entrance). There are colored tags for "new arrival", "regular price", 25% off, 50% off and 50 cents. Every week the colored tags are discounted lower and lower until it reaches 50 cents. Then once a week they have an even bigger sale where they will lower the prices to 70% off and 25 cents! You need at least an hour if not more just to go through the racks to find something that is worth buying. It is helpful if you go with a group of friends to help you find items that you might like because the store is HUGE. The clothing is arranged according to men/women/children, type of clothing (shirts, shorts, skirts, dresses), size then color. How much more organized can you get than that? I have found faux fur shrugs for $4-$6 (I have white, black and an animal print), cute Summer sandals for $1, and an angora sweater for 25 cents. My friend who's into labels often runs into brand names like Dior and Stacy Addams. With a little patience you can also find new items as well. To have a successful thrifting experience you need persistence (it's good to check things out once a week to see what new items come in) and a sharp eye (once you get used to it you can spot your style of clothes without looking through each item on the rack). Go early during sales to avoid the crowd and don't let the almost full parking lot scare you away, I've always been able to find one spot to park in no matter what time of day it is. pretty ridiculously priced. it's the most expensive thrift store in NWA and most of the highest priced items aren't even "designer/new/slow fashion". they say their shirts are $4 on the sign, but nearly every shirt was marked up individually to $8-20. Some of shirts that were $20 weren't name brand- they were TJMaxx poor quality garments. I saw one higher-end new item and it was a dress marked up to $100 for a casual lace Ralph Lauren(? idr) dress lol. all used leather jackets were $50, with a $25 beaten up one and a $100 heavily used one. the funniest thing was seeing a stained, crumbling gross green patagonia fleece being $30. I used to come to potter's and you could find quality items within the regular racks. I noticed 2 years ago that the designer rack never corresponded with actual "premium" labels & just things staff judged to be premium? now everything is marked up wantonly-- there's no consistency or criteria. I know it's for charity but it's pretty weird for Goodwill to have moved their prices up at a more reasonable scale & beautiful lives to keep their stock more affordable and priced fairly. i say this because I saw a cotton Target shirt and a 10 year old cotton Kmart shirt priced at $15 and $8 and that's pretty weird for a place selling used items. I get thrifting upsellers are ravaging, but there's a better solution than adopting such large price hikes and squeezing money out of people who can't afford it? (i see lots of families come here more than any other thrift store). I would recommend Goodwill, Beautiful Lives for women, and The Attic for women. Sadly I haven't found a thrift store that caters to children/men with ample sizes/stock. there are a lot better thrifting options in Rogers for families/men. And $5.99 below in the NWA mall has new target items for all sizes/ppl. happy shopping! read more

Do not shop here there are bed bugs all over the place ! I watch an old lady that works there put her hand down in her pants pulls something out and threw it ( what ever it was ) and then went back to work on stocking the baby toys ! And the employees seem to be half wits or they are on meth ! Place is FILTHY. Even for a thrift store this place reeks and over prices their items. I keep a list if books I have read by certain authors to make sure I do not duplicate. I was looking at this list on my phone when an employee saw me and panicked and demanded I put away my phone. I did in my car as I left. All the clothes and furniture was nasty. A love seat for sale reeked of cat urine. Avoid this place and hit goodwill. read more

I really do NOT like this store at all but it's simply not terrible enough for a one star rating - if that tells you anything. It is on a main thoroughfare in Fayetteville close to other thrifting, so I wouldn't rule it out 100% but I think it's pretty awful to be honest. Their prices are way beyond what I reasonably expect to pay for secondhand items. A couple of examples...a 1980s overhead projector broken up into 3 separate "kits" (you would need all three to operate the projector) for a total price of over $100, and a pair of filthy, battered Toms shoes for $20. No thank you. Perhaps I'm spoiled by better secondhand stores with organized racks of nice clothing under ten bucks. I've found very little of interest at Potter's House. read more

Stumbled upon this thrift store while exploring Fayetteville. Was amazed to find such a great thrift store. They had a pretty large Men's selection, especially shirts. The best part was the wide variety of name brands and good condition clothing that they had. I saw Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, and more. They weren't the cheapest thrift store I've been to but they had such a great selection it was well worth it. Besides clothes they also had limited furniture and housewares and books plus electronics. Parking was a little tight but manageable. Definitely worth a look if you love thrifting or a great deal. read more

Supposedly larger than its sibling in Springdale, it looked about the same size to me. The furniture section was somewhat lacking but the book section was large. The ministry is a good cause, the man who originally started this was an amazing man of God, but the prices are too high for what they are, and - as in a lot of thrift stores - more than half of what is in there is trash and should be thrown away. Why these thrift stores don't do a better job of recycling is beyond me..... I will always donate to Potters House but I rarely buy there, it's hard to find anything of value since prices are too high. read more

Tried to buy a computer (password locked, no power cord, no accessories, no guarantee that it works) based on the price written on the tag and the discount displayed and advertised on the wall and on the website. When I tried to check out, the cashier tried to charge me full price (on what was supposed to be 75% off based on the green tags), but she said that the white tag (not mentioned on the website or in the store) means that it's full price forever (sorry, not going to spend $75 on a locked computer with no cords and no warranty). The manager came out and said that the green tags (tag colors denote discount) were only for informational purposes and didn't mean anything compared to the white tag (why the information was not written on white tags instead of a discount-denoting color tag, I was never given an answer to). Called the place, because I thought there must be some kind of mistake (since the "white tag" isn't mentioned anywhere on the website or explained anywhere in the store... except when you try to check out). The guy on the phone told me that white tag items are left out for a month before they get marked down... I mentioned that the computer had a date written on it of 3/31, meaning that it had been out there for 2 whole months. THEN he tells me that since it had been out there a month, they could mark it down 25%. I tell him it's not worth the risk (since its likely junk). THEN he tells me that since it had been out there 2 months, he could mark it down to 50%. At this point I simply have to get off the phone with him... whether due to false advertising (color tags) or his overall sketchiness ("let's see how much I can get out of this guy"), I dunno. What I do know is that regardless of the supposed "Christian" charity this store funds or promotes, the store seems to be run by scumbags. They don't follow their own advertised discount schedule? They use color tags (for discounts they don't plan on giving you at the register) to put information on products. They give you the run-around, and try to bargain to see how much you'll pay, if you call them out on the inconsistencies. I was polite to the people I talked to, but every nerve in my body told me these people are sketchy. They didn't come across as honest, trustworthy or Christian. And on top of all that, they seem like bad business people... (seriously guys, let that worthless box sit on your shelf for another 2 months and then you can sell it for 50 cents). If you choose to go to this store and support these people... beware. read more

Was assured by staff that the items I purchased that were taped shut had been checked. I know it's a thrift store and it's a chance I take when I purchase something - - - it might have missing pieces, might not work, might be broken but when the staff assured me things had been checked I TRUSTED them. Got home, pieces missing, etc. No refunds, no exchanges, no refunds. I can live with that, just more careful what I purchase in the future and DON'T TRUST them. But now, after all I've donated and purchased at this place, all the money they have made off me, they no longer allow us to bring our purses into the store. I don't always have pockets, can't balance my wallet while looking things over for damages, so this is inconvenient and also means I would need to leave my purse in my car to possibly get stolen while I shop. Not only that, it implies they don't trust me. Do they trust people who bring in babies or do they make them leave their babies in the car because some people hide things under their children as a way to steal. Also, are they going to start making everyone shop naked? Many people stuff things in their pockets or put on layers of clothing in the dressing room as a way to steal. And although they say they are helping the community (and they also mention Jesus on their website), do they make homeless people leave their stuff outside to get stolen? There are a number of homeless people in Fayetteville. A lot of them have to carry all of their belongings with them to keep their belongings from getting stolen. Also, some of the homeless people like to shop at thrift stores in order to buy cheaper clothing for job interviews in hopes of getting back on their feet one day. This place that says they are helping families and communities are doing the homeless a disservice if they make them leave their belongings outside to get stolen. read more
