My husband and I brought in our kiddos today, it was amazing. To start there is plenty of free parking out front. When we walked in we were greeted by Dana who was absolutely amazing at explaining the process to us. There was a ton of different items to choose from to start painting and lots of colors to choose. We had such a fun time together as a family and we cannot wait to come back again! Dana who was working was super nice, extremely kind, and patient with our young son! Fun, super cute choices and nice vibe. Unless, when there is a little girl birthday party that took over the place. More than slightly irritating was a situation that potters quarter could have at least contained the overly loud adults. We had a nice chill and creative time planned with the grandkids. It when we arrived it was chaos. There was a young elementary girls party going on that had food, drinks and many screaming girls. When something was funny the parents were loudest! It's like the rented the whole place for themselves to be as wild as they wanted with no courtesy for others - except for the fact that they didn't. I'm not a party pooper. I'm not a buzz kill. I'm totally glad we get back to real life and some def fun- for everyone! So let's still be polite. Let's still be aware of our surroundings. Let's respect the others in the room ! What about indoor voices ? What about "read the room"? Oh no , you couldn't do that because you were all acting like you were at a park ! When I say screams and outlandish laughs it was over the top ! Never mind I had someone with me that's slightly on the spectrum. So we are clearly more than just irritating everyone. It's completely besides that because this wasn't even just a normal delightful squeals that is usually just enough to make you smile if you delight in several children in a good mood! Yeah I said I wasn't a cranky old woman! But really ???? One, next time rent out the whole place. Two, if you can't then know that others are also trying to have fun too. I had a blast at The Potters' Quarter. It has such a relaxing atmosphere and the workers are very kind and informative. They have so much to choose from, and since you only pay for what you paint, it's not that bad price wise. That being said, it does range from like $30-$150 per item, but you do not have to pay for any paints, brushes, etc. Highly recommend if you're looking to relax and do something fun with friends, family, or by yourself! read more

Okay I read the reviews and I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the one off visitors that didn't have a good experience. I can appreciate if you are just visiting and can only visit once -- and I can appreciate being upset if your item arrives broken but that is SORT of the assumption of risk when having a pottery item shipped to you. Needless to say the other concern that I read was that others took their piece after it was fired... I would definitely be in the mindset of cutting-a-(fill in the blank) if that happened... I haven't experienced it. You enter this location and it is sort of set in a artistic coffee shop method. Tables with the necessary supplies (or some of them) are scattered around. Shelves around the room are filled with unfired and unpainted pottery/ceramics. Get the piece you want (yes they are somewhat spendy) and then pick out your paints and paint it. They fire it, then set it on a shelf in the store -- you show a receipt upon pick up after finding your art and then you go on your merry way. We have visited a couple of times. I called first to just let them know I was concerned about the reviews and the employees were genuinely sad that they had those reviews. The employees I have met were friendly, upbeat and helpful. If you need help they help... I don't need someone standing over my shoulder to tell me how to paint ceramics. Maybe some need that extra assistance -- THEN ASK FOR IT! The workers are all pretty young and all appear artsy and the display pieces certainly show art! I knew what I was going to spend before I visited because I knew what I wanted to make. You don't? Just look at the posted price. Its an experience... its something YOU are making you cannot compare it to the price of a cup at Target DUH!! Go into it knowing that the large 28 oz mug is $28... Just the facts.... and you know what? I like mine so much I did another the next time! HA HA Have fun with it -- do NOT be in a hurry -- I can easily spend 3 hours in here but that is because if I am making a $28 mug I want it to be quality that I actually want to use. There are projects you could work on for several visits... there are projects you could do together and make a combined project for a memory. Great date place, great spend time with friends place etc... If I had kids I would bring them here too! Last weekend of every month is ladies night with wine and cookies and you pick an item to finish! We had fun... Its a choice -- choose to have fun! Tip -- get a turntable -- it helps -- use a large brush -- it helps --- get plenty of paint and do several coats to develop the colors you actually want -- it helps -- dry your coats in between with the hair dryers -- it helps -- get the punchcard for items if you spend $100 I think you get $10 off... that is huge.. This place is fun! It's a great place to take the family, it works for all ages, and get a little crafty together. This time I made a mug, for my sister, with the theme from her baby shower on it. It was fun. There are stencils and all size brushes/sponges to choose from. There is also any color of paint that you could want. Pencils are provided if you need to draw your design before you paint it. I dont like to do this, I just go with the flow. :) It's convenient if you want to paint something and then go across the courtyard and grab some dinner from any one of the several restaurants in the area. Parking is easy too. Bring the family in! Your ceramics will be done in about a week and then they are yours to keep. read more

Fantastic variety of pieces and colors to choose from. My only gripe is the price of the pieces. My bowl was $34, though it did take 5 days for them to bake. It's free-range and relaxed. They don't judge your artistic ability, as you can see from my bowl. I second-guessed my choice of color from light purple or grape. Unfortunately I went with grape, when a light purple would definitely have fit my Star Wars theme (I named the piece "Hanbowlo") better. However, that leaves hope for you if you're not a great painter, or are colorblind. If my monstrosity can make it through, yours can too! read more

HOLY COW that was expensive! I came here with two first grade boys to make something for their mother and grandmothers for Mother's Day. One got a mug, the other got two little figurines. I admit it was my fault that I focused more on making sure they didn't break anything or horse around in the store rather than the prices, but an average person would think what... maybe worse case scenario $20-25 for the mug and $15 each for the figurines. So maybe $50 - 55 for the three items right? Kinda spendy but it is a special treat to come there so whatever. NOPE, rung up as $92. I gave them an extra star since it was my bad for trusting that prices would be in a reasonable range. I should have checked closer. read more

Years ago this was a nice place to go for a date night or a family activity. Now it will cost you $50+ if you plan to buy something for each person. Family of five? $100+ easily. Outrageous. Lovely service, awesome selection... would definitely go again! My friend and I stopped by and painted some mugs, it was a great time.

We had a great experience at Potters' Quarter. The staff (Zoe) was friendly, courteous, and attentive. She was great with our 5 year old. The atmosphere was fun, clean, and pretty. A lot of people are complaining about the price per piece, but painting pottery IS a luxury. The prices of the pieces include studio fees, which consist of the costs of underglazes, glazes, cleaning, firing, and potentially someone guiding and teaching you what to do on top of your pottery piece. Coming from a place where the only pottery place in town charge each person a $12 dollar studio fee ON TOP of the pottery, The Potters' Quarter is far more reasonable. Most places DO NOT have a pottery painting place at all. I'm super happy to have moved to a town that has pottery painting as an option. read more

Potter's Quarter is a brilliant conception. Pottery painting shop that doubles as a cafe with built-in snack bar? Yes!! What a great setting for childrens' birthday parties and/or general after-work decompression sessions (the coffee and snack bar off will offset your hunger pangs when the muses kick in and you get to hour five of Extreme Painting.) Here's how you take the fun & relaxation to the next level: 1.) Take a seat at a comfortable and clean work station. 2.) Help yourself to as many brushes, stencils, paints, trays, and glitter glues as you want. 3.) Proceed to create your masterpiece. You can take as long as you need to finish your piece. Literally. I am maybe slightly obsessive-compulsive and was thus here for days upon days, fine-tuning a large leftovers bowl. PQ is gracious enough to not charge by the hour/tube of paint, so... 4.) Done? Turn in your piece de resistance (in my case, a crudely painted cartoon cat) for firing. PQ fires your pottery quickly, so you'll be able to pick it up & gift it to your beloved somebody in no time! 5.) Go with a party of girlfriends (or boyfriends!) 6.) Bring your kids! Everyone knows that child-created pottery is the best pottery. Most of all, have fun, get caffeinated, and remember that if you mess up, there's always more paint and no one will judge you. :) read more

Oh, where to go for my Daddy daughter date....I give this place a call. We were created with the sweetest smile and a warm welcome. We of course had lots of questions that were easily handled . We had tons of fun. A goofy selection of Chinese style crafts in my opinion but plenty of selection. We picked our pieces and helped ourselves to a table. This place was perfect. I was able to enjoy quality time with my beautiful daughter. 25+ dollars sounds steep at first until you have the experience and the end products turned out way better than I thought they would. The perfect place to unwind and be artistic. My girls and I spent a few hours here on Mother's Day and we have decided to make it a regular monthly thing. I love the location. The space is large and very open. Lots of tables. Lots of paint pieces and colors to choose from. They even have books you can look through for inspiration. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it is REALLY expensive. Even some of the small pieces are $50+. Had the prices been a little more comparable, I would have given them 5 stars. read more

However, we arrived and found that since the only competition in town closed, all the prices have gone up and by quite a bit. No longer can this be something fun to do with my kids because you can expect to throw down at least $25 per kid. Came here and was so excited to paint and create. Came a little late so I took the piece home to finish. When I came back and opened it up it was broken and asked if they were able to do anything or give a partial refund since I hadn't even started painting and only drew on it with pencil. They said no and the manager told me to go buy glue, put it together and bring it back. You would think with how expensive it is they would be able to help in some way. Anyway. Don't even know where to start, I went in after my ceramics were fired. I found 1 piece of 3 when I asked the clerk I was told hmmm well we donate things to goodwill, WHAT so I spend 79.00 for a return of 1 item. she didn't ask for my receipt or proof that the 1 piece was even mine, so my guess is someone else is enjoying my other pieces. my suggestion would be please implicate a smoother matching system for your customers. all the memories gone. read more

Follow up to my review of 8/19/14: Eliza Masters, the owner would not call me directly even after multiple requests. Communicating through one of her clerks, she would only refund my money in cash for the actual item even though I live in Los Angeles and she is in Eugene. Therefore, I let her send me the cash in the mail. She would not allow any consideration for the time my niece put into it. I was told by the clerk that the fact that they lost the piece was completely out of their control. They said that anyone could take someone else's work home. I asked if they considered putting each piece in a bag with a ticket with the customer's name/phone to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Not interested in the suggestion. WOW! What a horrible place!!! I took my family to Potters Quarters to paint Christmas ornaments for holiday gifts. The girl working the counter was curt at best. We had to ask for paint several times and this seemed to inconvenience the clerk greatly. We spent an hour there and paid(over $100) for our fancy hand painted artwork... I went back to pick them up December 21st. I found several pieces and could not find the last one. I approached the counter and asked the clerk for help. Her response shocked me, "No I can't help you. You will just have to look harder." I told her I had found six out of the seven pieces and really couldn't find the last piece. Her reply was, "that's not my problem." I thanked her for her customer service and wished her a Merry Christmas. I will never return and will tell my friends about my experience. read more

The owner and employees have the worst customer service I've encountered! I spent a decent amount of money and time there to provide a fun experience for my three year old granddaughter...they lost her piece and didn't care even a little about that! I received no refund, no credit, no nothing! The girl working the counter only cared enough to show me the fine print at the bottom of the receipt saying they were not responsible and then went to help other customers while I was still standing there! I had to ask that the two pieces that the didn't lose be wrapped, then she walked off again so I didn't even have a chance to ask for a bag to carry the items! I guess I should have realized what type of business I was dealing with when we received not help when we came in to paint our pieces. First of all the only reason I visited this place was because I had received a gift certificate otherwise I would've passed because in my opinion it was way over priced. Anyhow, since I knew I was going to be painting a piece from here I figured I'd go all out and decided for a platter priced at $55. I took 6 hours to give my platter all the details I wanted. I left my prized good at the mercy of the staff. I eagerly waited the 6 days it took to be ready for pick up. When I arrived I didn't find my platter. So I inquired at the front desk. The young lady came out and told me she was sorry but my platter was broken. Somehow it had fallen the day before from the pick up shelf. She offered to give me another plate, to which I obviously declined. Instead I asked for a refund. It was quite disturbing for the staff in this location to not have the courtesy of calling me ahead of time to inform me of the misfortune. I sensed a lack of professionalism and carelessness. Due to these reasons I do not recommend Potters Quartes. read more
