I first went to Poulette a few years ago and apparently never stopped thinking about it because I finally made it back this weekend. Showed up around 9:30 on a Saturday and waited maybe 20 minutes which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how popular this place has become. I was also shocked they still had almost everything available by the time I got inside. I'm not going to pretend I know the names of every pastry I grabbed, but every single thing was excellent. The first thing you notice is the lamination. You can immediately tell these people know what they're doing. Beautiful layers, super buttery, crisp without becoming dry or messy. Just really well made pastries. Flavor wise everything felt balanced too. Rich but not heavy. Sweet without feeling overwhelming. You can absolutely understand why this place keeps getting national attention. Definitely worth making the drive to Parker for. read more

I was happy to hear they had a bigger place. Unfortunately, even on a late Friday morning, there was a short line out the door. The staff is fantastic. They are friendly, always smiling. They tell you almost immediately what is in a pastry that you are ordering. The desserts did not disappoint. Although this time, I only ordered a few, cutting them in half to share. They are very rich. I know I can ask, but with a line behind you, one tends to forget or does not want to keep the others waiting....but a short blurb on the receipt on how the item should be kept / served would be fantastic. If you have not had an opportunity to stop in, do it. You will see why it is ranked one of the best bakeries in the United States. read more

Overall, it's a middle of the road bakery. I wasn't impressed despite its reputation and awards. I judge bakeries by their plain butter croissant so that I can do a 1:1 comparison. It was lacking in flavor depth and texture was not airy enough; not even top 10-15 I have ever had. The best plain croissant I've tried in Denver is at Reunion Bakery, which is pretty much perfect and exemplifies what I had in Paris. They do have more unique flavors and offerings, but again, none of them blew me away and were actually quite underwhelming. Spinach artichoke croissant and chorizo strada were bland and lacking salt. Cinna-roll and almond croissant were probably the best ones but still nothing to write home about. I found it hard to eat more than 3 bites of anything I got because I did not feel any enjoyment from it and my taste buds were not sufficiently tingled lmao. Maybe I have higher pastry standards coming from San Francisco where there are just so many amazing options, but I think Poulette is a fine neighborhood bakery although not a place anyone should go out of their way for or wait more than 5 minutes for. I went on a Saturday morning at 9am when the wait was around 20-30 minutes. Staff were helpful and nice. Street parking was easy to find. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors. read more

Have wanted to try for awhile but the lines have always been horrible. Stopped by in the afternoon and there was only one person in line. Several beautiful items to select from. They were very helpful in telling us about the flavors and ingredients in the items. Selected 3 items... $24. Overall, a nice experience but not my go-to for a bakery. read more

As expected, this place was a treat, the pastries are a work of art. I wish they had less fruity flavors and more vanilla, chocolate, caramel type pastries, but different stroke for different folks. The line is long but they rip through it, didn't have to wait too long. They just moved to a new location and thank god they did, we went to their old location and it deserves a spot like where they are now, their old spot was in a strip mall. read more

Incredible french-style bakery with some of the best pastries in Denver. The lines here on Saturday morning are always 60-90 minutes long by the time they open, so plan ahead. When you get inside, you are warmly greeted and not rushed at all. And the staff is more than willing to take their time to answer any questions you might have, like "what's inside of that?" And they won't make you feel bad when the answer is on the name of the item! All items for sale are out in beautifully presented displays, so it can be as simple as point and order. We got a huge variety of pastries. All perfectly flaky. The fruit components (fresh, cream, jellies) were perfectly balanced. Nothing too sweet, too tart, or too shy. We braved the long line and were not disappointed! The chocolate croissant was fantastic. I thought that the cheese brioche wasn't quite as good as it looked though. I was a bit disappointed that they were out of almond croissants, but it makes sense on a weekend morning with how much business they get. Once we had our items, we were able to sit down at a table inside and the atmosphere was pleasant. I have to say, I'm glad I tried this place but I don't think I would wait in the long line to get pastries from here again. After hearing great things about this bakeshop I had to come check it out myself and I will admit, this lives up to the hype!! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-made. The canelé was my FAVORITE!! It's perfectly caramelized on the outside, soft and custardy inside. I also tried the lemon stuffy croissant, and it was super flavorful with just the right amount of citrusy and very creamy. Everyone was so pleasant to interact with, kind and welcoming. This place is amazing! I just got back from Paris and this place is pretty comparable. Pretty legit. Everything looked great and everything we had tasted great. Poulette. A name I've heard for a very long time living here in Colorado but never stopped by because it's pretty far down south and I'm not the biggest sweets guy. Well, the pastries and sweets here may have changed my mind and I'm glad I found myself down south for an appointment and remembered about Poulette. The woman behind me said it best when we asked what she recommends and replied "it would be quicker for me to tell you what isn't good here". She was right. Everything we got here was really good and clearly expertly made. The best part? Nothing was overly sweet. We visited around 9AM on a Wednesday and there was plenty of selection at the time with not much of a line. I did hear that on the weekend that it gets very busy and their best items sell out quickly. Call me basic, but I really liked the Snickerdoodle cookie. The savory items were not as good as the sweets but still very good! The prices here are definitely on the expensive side but just have some self control, unlike us, and get a reasonable amount of things and you should be fine. Get there early for the best selections! There was a line even at 1:30pm on a Saturday. I ordered both a blueberry panecota ($8) and a strawberry one. They were delicious!! Devoured them in a heartbeat. The panecota and fruits were so fresh. We will get there early another time to try their baked goods. Service was so friendly and professional. When I got here, they literally had two things to offer, even though there seemed to be a lot of other things in the window of their bakery. We arrived the Friday before Valentine's Day about 20 minutes before opening and there was a short line, but it was no problem because there was plenty available. It smelled incredible when we walked in, and there was a small gift shop area with cute items. There is no seating to eat there. The pastries were the most incredible pastries we've ever had. The "cinn roll" was our favorite thing. It was not a traditional cinnamon roll, it was custardy and had a caramel crunch to the bottom. The chocolate raspberry sweet heart was chocolate mousse with raspberry on a chocolate cookie. It was also quite pricey but well worth what we paid for. We got 6 items and it was around $85, but that included multiple large holiday specialty items. read more

Stopped in for a quick treat on our anniversary and was helped by the most amazingly hospitable staff ever. While we were sitting to enjoy the world's most incredible pastries we listened as every customer asked the staff the same three questions over and over. Not once did the cashier seem annoyed or frustrated. Located in Parker in a strip mall, Poulette has made the list of highly accomplished bakeries in the country- not just Colorado! Order ahead to secure your pastries- and note, if you order ahead, you can skip the line. Love this place! Poulette Bakeshop is such a gem in Parker. They're only open Wednesday-Saturday, so plan ahead and expect a long line in the morning, especially on weekends. Totally worth the wait though. The stuffed croissants are incredible: flaky, rich, and flavorful without being overly sweet. You can really taste the quality. The chocolate croissants are a huge hit with my kids and disappear fast every time we bring them home. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but for the craftsmanship and quality, it's 100% worth it as an occasional treat. A must-visit if you love excellent pastries and don't mind waiting for something special. There aren't any tables to sit and enjoy a Stumptown coffee with your croissant, but if they ever add seating, we'd be frequent Saturday morning visitors for sure! read more

Stopped by this morning and grabbed a coffee at Marvin's Place and then stood in line to grab a few things from Poulette. There was a line (duh!) but it wasn't too long and was moving relatively quick. A few items were sold out by the time we got there, but I grabbed a cheese brioche and a Black Forest croissant. My husband also had the nduja pepper brioche, since we were both craving something savory. The brioches were okay, I wish we had gotten them warmed up. The Black Forest croissant was a delight! The croissant itself was so perfect - flaky and delicious. And it felt like I was eating Black Forest cake - the cherries and the chocolate. It was incredible! Will be back to try more stuffed croissants soon, and I hope they'll offer some savory croissant options soon too. The macaroons looked incredible and I can't wait to try a Kouign Amann. Staff were super friendly and the space/interiors and seating was cute! read more

This bakery is absolutely phenomenal! Everything they make is so perfect and the selection is huge. My favorites are their laminated pastries including stuffies (stuffed croissants) and their filled kouign amann like pastries. I don't typically love macarons but theirs are giant, come in all kinds of fun flavors and easily the best I've had. Everytime I've been there's been a line at 8am and they typically sell out before closing. It's worth the drive (and they're moving a few streets north to downtown Parker so very soon to be a few minutes closer!) their current location doesn't have seating but I hope their new one does! read more

My partner came here and bought me like 5 baked goods for Valentine's day last year. He said he showed up first thing in the morning and waited in line for an hour. They were good but nothing extraordinary in my opinion. He liked them. Another time he brought me around 930am and we waited in line for about 30 minutes. There was not a lot to choose from at that point but we bought a few things and they were fine. I was in Parker for another event so I decided to stop by and get some treats for my partner since he likes this place so much. A very nice employee helped me. I got there around 1:15pm and there was no line. I can't remember all of the elaborate descriptions but I got the stuff below and my partner likes them a lot. They're all about $10 each. Choux Puff- mango, passion fruit Stuffed Croissant with some fruit stuff in it Citrus treat that came in a cup Overall, I think the baked goods are good but value wise- the prices are like what would be charged at a restaurant which usually has a significant up charge. If it was more affordable, I'd give it a higher rating for sure. read more

To start, the ambience at this Poulette Bakeshop was cute and homey, but the entrance and exit felt a little too tight and industrial. We went at around 10 AM on a weekday and there was already a small line out the door. The service was friendly and quick. We got two sweet pastries and two savory pastries (coffees from Fika Coffee House). The savories were alright, it is a bit nit-picky but I do wish they would make the extra effort to warm the savory pastries before serving as they have gotten cold sitting on the display. The turkey and cheese pastry was a bit dry but well seasoned and the spinach and artichoke was just alright overall. I would stick to the sweets next time, as they were both really good. The raspberry lemon croissant was perfectly tart and sweet and the black forest croissant was also well balanced and not too sweet. Overall, we would go back for the sweets! read more

I consider ourselves lucky we live near this absolute gem of a spot. We preordered some goodies (macarons and apple fritters) but then got some croissants and pan de chocolate as well. You can smell the quality when you first walk in. Apple fritters are my most favorite and it was the best I've ever had hands down. Not only was everything amazing, they missed charging us for the macarons so they gave us an extra Apple fritter for free. My daughter and I shared it on the way home. I finally had a free weekend to venture south and the trip was worth it. Since we don't live super close, I was committed to trying as much as possible and ordered a variety of both sweet and savory options. Though we haven't made it through everything at the time of this review, I can confidently say it's the real deal. But don't take my word for it, it's true according to the James Beard Foundation and NYT. Anyways, we arrived by 8:30 on Saturday morning and patiently waited to in line for about 10 minutes before it was our turn at the counter. Service is friendly and efficient, and the owners are around as well! There is a range of savory breakfast pastries, the standard laminated dough offerings, macarons, croissant "stuffies" and a gorgeous counter of "celebration pastries" of various sizes. The Mont Blanc, canelé and spinach and artichoke tarts were fantastic. We also tried a mango passion choux puff and both the classic and stuffie croissants. We loved the mix of innovative twists combined with French classics. A visit out here is certainly worth it! read more

Poulette comes with a stunning pedigree ( working for such amazing chefs/restauranteurs Ferran Adrià, Joel Robuchon, Thomas Keller etc) I have actually been fortunate to have dined at most of the places they have worked at. And that is why my hopes were so high!! My context for knowing a bit about baking is that one of my children is a phenomenal baker...so much so they have a huge set of copper Caneles molds. So why a 3 star? Many of the baked goods we ordered were over baked: The Caneles were near burnt on the outside...no caramelization. The Chocolate Croissant had nary any chocolate. The Kouign Amann was also over baked and really lacked both texture and taste. Go to B Patisserie in San fran to find an amazing Kouign !!! The good: Nice Macarons (Pierre Herme would approve). The cream and jelly filled were quite good. So most items are $6 each....and I know baking is a true time consuming endeavor...but for what we paid and what you could expect in Paris....I was let down. I pre-ordered a lunar new year cake cause I was mostly interested in the mandarin cream they had and figured I might as well grab some other pastries cause why not? I went right before 9 and boy was the line long. It was a super cold 1 hour wait only to be in the shop for 10 mins that didnt even warm me up fully. I wish they actually let you order their regular pastries online even if they need to enforce a limit it to make it fair for everyone. They were out of shokopan but I grabbed a kouign aman, roasted apple croissant, and a plain croissant for about $17. They have some of their pasties displayed and named but not everything so it's a little hard to know what to actually get. They seem efficient once you get inside but man is the wait brutal when it's freezing outside. The kouign aman had a thick sugary bottom which made it chewy and it wasn't my favorite but for some reason, I just couldn't seem to put it down and found myself eating more. The roasted apple croissant was my favorite out of the 3. The apple was soft but the juiciness just paired with the croissant well. The plain croissant was decent. Not as flaky as others I've had and I ate it with some scallion cream cheese I had at home that really elevated it nicely. The lunar new year macaron cake was interesting. I've baked a good amount of macarons in my life but I have never thought about making it in a cake form. That being said, the texture made for an interesting cake. The mandarin cream was a little disappointing cause I wanted that oomph of citrus! There was a little bit of mandarin jam in the middle but that's only in the middle! The cream they used wasn't overly sweet either and neither was the cake overall which was good! I'm on a bakery kick right now and out of the 3 I've tried so far, this is #2. it was a cold morning on NYE. this Artisan bakery was very niche and had a great selection of pastries to enjoy for breakfast & brunch. I will let you observe the photos to see what I got but one of the favorites was definitely the Pecan and Vanilla Bean Mille Feuille aka the Napolean. the vanilla is not too sweet and the flakes were baked to perfection. of course it's more on the pricey side, however, I think the overall experience of consuming "top of the class" pastries is definitely worth it. it would be great if the had a bigger location, but I think they do well with everything they got. workers were friendly and knowledgeable about each item. definitely will stop by again - just need to give my wallet a break (ha). read more

Been here many times. Can have long lines. Food is great and their baked goods are amazing. However, the staff never answers the phone or replies to email so customer service on that end could improve. In store they are king and helpful. Small shop so when busy expect waiting outside. The xuicos are my favorite and I will get before my vacation ends. The only baked good I did not like was the chocolate chip cookie but everything else had been delectable. I waited quite some time to try this place. It was always busy and they ran out of the croissants. This time, I was able to snag a few pastries. They are the best in that area for sure. However, I would say they were a little on the oily side. The pastries weren't too sweet but they were nice and buttery and flakey. The price point was kind of high for what you get. I would come back here every few months as the price point is just a little too much for what you get. A small line when you walk in. The counter space is long so you can see the selection.
