I pre-ordered a lunar new year cake cause I was mostly interested in the mandarin cream they had and figured I might as well grab some other pastries cause why not? I went right before 9 and boy was the line long. It was a super cold 1 hour wait only to be in the shop for 10 mins that didnt even warm me up fully. I wish they actually let you order their regular pastries online even if they need to enforce a limit it to make it fair for everyone. They were out of shokopan but I grabbed a kouign aman, roasted apple croissant, and a plain croissant for about $17. They have some of their pasties displayed and named but not everything so it's a little hard to know what to actually get. They seem efficient once you get inside but man is the wait brutal when it's freezing outside. The kouign aman had a thick sugary bottom which made it chewy and it wasn't my favorite but for some reason, I just couldn't seem to put it down and found myself eating more. The roasted apple croissant was my favorite out of the 3. The apple was soft but the juiciness just paired with the croissant well. The plain croissant was decent. Not as flaky as others I've had and I ate it with some scallion cream cheese I had at home that really elevated it nicely. The lunar new year macaron cake was interesting. I've baked a good amount of macarons in my life but I have never thought about making it in a cake form. That being said, the texture made for an interesting cake. The mandarin cream was a little disappointing cause I wanted that oomph of citrus! There was a little bit of mandarin jam in the middle but that's only in the middle! The cream they used wasn't overly sweet either and neither was the cake overall which was good! I'm on a bakery kick right now and out of the 3 I've tried so far, this is #2. it was a cold morning on NYE. this Artisan bakery was very niche and had a great selection of pastries to enjoy for breakfast & brunch. I will let you observe the photos to see what I got but one of the favorites was definitely the Pecan and Vanilla Bean Mille Feuille aka the Napolean. the vanilla is not too sweet and the flakes were baked to perfection. of course it's more on the pricey side, however, I think the overall experience of consuming "top of the class" pastries is definitely worth it. it would be great if the had a bigger location, but I think they do well with everything they got. workers were friendly and knowledgeable about each item. definitely will stop by again - just need to give my wallet a break (ha). read more

I consider ourselves lucky we live near this absolute gem of a spot. We preordered some goodies (macarons and apple fritters) but then got some croissants and pan de chocolate as well. You can smell the quality when you first walk in. Apple fritters are my most favorite and it was the best I've ever had hands down. Not only was everything amazing, they missed charging us for the macarons so they gave us an extra Apple fritter for free. My daughter and I shared it on the way home. However, the staff never answers the phone or replies to email so customer service on that end could improve. In store they are king and helpful. Small shop so when busy expect waiting outside. The xuicos are my favorite and I will get before my vacation ends. The only baked good I did not like was the chocolate chip cookie but everything else had been delectable. However, I would say they were a little on the oily side. The pastries weren't too sweet but they were nice and buttery and flakey. The price point was kind of high for what you get. Stopped in for a quick treat on our anniversary and was helped by the most amazingly hospitable staff ever. While we were sitting to enjoy the world's most incredible pastries we listened as every customer asked the staff the same three questions over and over. Not once did the cashier seem annoyed or frustrated. I felt the workers got irritated but I get it, I was confused and holding up their line haha. To start, the ambience at this Poulette Bakeshop was cute and homey, but the entrance and exit felt a little too tight and industrial. We went at around 10 AM on a weekday and there was already a small line out the door. The service was friendly and quick. We got two sweet pastries and two savory pastries (coffees from Fika Coffee House). The savories were alright, it is a bit nit-picky but I do wish they would make the extra effort to warm the savory pastries before serving as they have gotten cold sitting on the display. The turkey and cheese pastry was a bit dry but well seasoned and the spinach and artichoke was just alright overall. I would stick to the sweets next time, as they were both really good. I have been following Poulette Bakeshop since they opened on Instagram, but finally went to the shop on a Saturday morning right after opening at 8 AM. Since they were a James Beard Award finalists, I felt it was worth waiting in line, which took 90 minutes to get to the counter. I was sure they would be out of most items, but to my surprise, they were fully stocked! We tried the strawberry croissant and the Black Forest croissant, delicious with mousse-like filling and a very flaky croissant. We took home giant macrons, which we will try later. The artistry of the pastries is amazing. They also have savory options. I bought some chicken salad for later today. The shop is adorable, but there are only 3 seats at a counter facing the front window. I was very impressed with the service since the staff does not get a second to breathe. They are super friendly and will take time to explain their offerings, even with 100 people in line behind you. You can preorder online, but they are set boxes; you can't select à la carte online as far as I can tell. They are definitely a 5-star, but with the drive and the wait, it took about 3 hours. Incredible bakery in Parker. We visited for the first time today. If you don't order ahead, be prepared to wait in a line outside. They keep it moving quickly. Personally I prefer to wait to see what goodies they have so I can select exactly what I want (and see before I buy). We ordered a large box of goodies, mostly sweet pastries. The croissants are baked to perfection - gorgeous flakey layers of deliciousness. You can tell they know how to correctly bake these. So rare to see. Among best I've had outside of France! Also true for the éclairs and macarons. By far the best one I've had in the U.S. They were generously filled and the chocolate was divine. We loved everything we ate. The girl at the register was so sweet and threw in a few freebies for us since we had kids (and it was our first time visiting). There's no seating inside so be prepared to take your things home or to a nearby park to enjoy. Grand total was in the $50 range. We definitely did not eat everything so more for tomorrow! read more

Incredible pastries that are definitely worth the wait! I arrived at about 8:15 on a Saturday morning, and there were over a dozen people lined up outside. They kept the line moving fast, however, and the service was very friendly. All the pastries and desserts were beautiful, and they had a great variety of sweet and savory offerings. We ordered a ham and cheese bear claw, a cheese brioche, a sugar brioche, a prosciutto and Brie pastry, and a canele. The pastries were extremely fresh, and you could tell the ingredients were very high-quality. The ham and cheese bear claw had a very generous amount of ham, and I found the inclusion of mustard interesting. The prosciutto and Brie pastry was delicious as well. I would have preferred it without the cherry jam, which made it a bit too sweet. The brioches were so light, and the canele had a rich vanilla flavor. We came here on a Saturday morning at about 9:20, and there was already a line out the door that ran through the strip mall. By the time we reached the counter, it was about an hour past and all the macarons were sold out. The items selling out is apparently common here, so make sure to get here early when they open or bring a book or something to keep you preoccupied during the inevitable queue. Poulette is well worth the wait, though. I'll be back to try those elusive macarons. THE FOOD: my expectations were high knowing a bit about the impressive background of the owners as chefs at Michelin-starred restaurants and Poulette being a semifinalist for the James Beard award. Poulette lived up to the hype. All the pastries are so beautifully laminated and flaky. I felt like I was back in France. The pistachio croissant was heavenly and a highlight for me. Everything was the perfect amount of sweetness and not too sweet unlike at lesser bakeries. The food made for a lovely breakfast, a selection of their savory and sweet items, along with a cup of coffee which is sourced from Stumptown roasters. THE SPACE: there is very limited seating inside, but there is a table and room for a few seats along with charming decor inside. Most people took their stuff to eat to-go. I have seen this place all over social media and I finally decided to make the drive to Poulette bake shop and it was worth the drive. There are certain items are only available on some days of the week so check their social media accounts to stay up to date with the latest. Everything we ordered was so good. The croissant based pastries were flaky and the ones that are filled with cream are not soggy from the filling. I usually do not like macarons but the pistachio was calling me and super tasty. It wasn't too sweet but did not taste like chalk. Super tasty. The frosting on the cakes are also very tasty and not too sweet. The only downside is it really is all about luck when you come. They are baking items throughout but sometimes they may not be available at the time you come. The best bakery in Colorado with Michelin star DNA is somehow located in a Parker strip mall. The chefs behind Poulette trained at and led pastry departments at Thomas Keller restaurants and Bottega Louie in LA, among other places. The croissants here are incredible, literally some of the best you'll have in your life. The move is to preorder a box online and pick it up during their limited hours. This is primarily a takeout spot, not a full-fledged cafe where you'll sit and use wifi and work all day. It was so difficult to stop myself from buying stuff especially since it was my first time. Since then, I've done a pre order of the breakfast pastry box and was equally satisfied. Every single thing they sell is so damn fresh and homemade and worth every penny and every second of wait time. I am beyond ecstatic I live so close but would easily drive an hour + for these pastries! I really wish I had taken note of what everything was called but just look at the shelves and pick what looks fabulous and you won't regret it. Thank God for social media. When I was first planning our trip to Colorado and it was decided we were going to stay in Parker just outside of Denver. I went to social media to see what restaurants people were talking about and Poulette Bakeshop was one of them that kept popping up. I could tell that their pastries and savory offerings were exceptional, but I didn't learn until after we had left just how special this place is. Nestled in a shopping center, this unassuming bakery is home to artisan bakers trained by the best chefs in the world. They also were a 2024 semifinalist for the James Beard award for outstanding Pastry Chef + Baker. We went to the shop hoping for one of their sandwiches, arrived at just before 11 AM, and learned that they sold out of them before 9:30 AM that morning... trying to pivot and decide what pastry to buy was an overwhelming decision. Everything looks perfectly presented and decadent. The lovely woman helping us at the counter was patient and encouraging us to take our time with the decision. She then presented us with a pastry that she said was actually the last one that they had available that day and so without much investigation, I went for it. I'm not even positive the name of this is, but it was delicious. After scouring their social media posts, I think this might be their name and description of this delicious concoction - Peach Dacquoise with layers of chewy almond meringue, vanilla bean crème pâtissière and lemon verbena macerated Palisade peaches! If you live in or are visiting the Denver metro, I would emphatically urge you to make the trip to visit this bakery. If it's a weekend, you better get there early. Also, while they have bar top seating for a few, this is definitely not a bake shop where you sit down with your family to enjoy your baked goods and a cup of coffee at the bakery. Plan on enjoying these at a nearby park or in the parking lot. Because they surely won't last long. read more
