Unfortunately the rumors are true and this place is worth the hype. I wish it wasn't so far from Denver because I would probably be a regular. The ham and cheese croissant is unparalleled. I thought i knew the best bakeries in Denver but I'll be dreaming of this until next time. The croissant loaf is super flaky and soft and moist. Decadent for sure but delicious. The sweet pasties are not overly sweet, and actually very mild. The line can get long but they try and move you along quickly so it does move. They're very efficient. And overall, it's worth the 35 min drive from Denver.

Poulette is hands down my favorite bakery in all of Colorado. I almost always have to stand in line but never regret it. The textures and airiness of their pastries are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure to indulge in. I love their choux! Their croissants that are topped with fruit are so fresh and well picked. I crave Poulette more often than I'd care to admit. Haha.

I first went to Poulette a few years ago and apparently never stopped thinking about it because I finally made it back this weekend. Showed up around 9:30 on a Saturday and waited maybe 20 minutes which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how popular this place has become. I was also shocked they still had almost everything available by the time I got inside. I'm not going to pretend I know the names of every pastry I grabbed, but every single thing was excellent. The first thing you notice is the lamination. You can immediately tell these people know what they're doing. Beautiful layers, super buttery, crisp without becoming dry or messy. Just really well made pastries. Flavor wise everything felt balanced too. Rich but not heavy. Sweet without feeling overwhelming. You can absolutely understand why this place keeps getting national attention. Definitely worth making the drive to Parker for.

Overall, it's a middle of the road bakery. I wasn't impressed despite its reputation and awards. I judge bakeries by their plain butter croissant so that I can do a 1:1 comparison. It was lacking in flavor depth and texture was not airy enough; not even top 10-15 I have ever had. The best plain croissant I've tried in Denver is at Reunion Bakery, which is pretty much perfect and exemplifies what I had in Paris. They do have more unique flavors and offerings, but again, none of them blew me away and were actually quite underwhelming. Spinach artichoke croissant and chorizo strada were bland and lacking salt. Cinna-roll and almond croissant were probably the best ones but still nothing to write home about. I found it hard to eat more than 3 bites of anything I got because I did not feel any enjoyment from it and my taste buds were not sufficiently tingled lmao. Maybe I have higher pastry standards coming from San Francisco where there are just so many amazing options, but I think Poulette is a fine neighborhood bakery although not a place anyone should go out of their way for or wait more than 5 minutes for. I went on a Saturday morning at 9am when the wait was around 20-30 minutes. Staff were helpful and nice. Street parking was easy to find. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors.

Came here on July 3rd around 11:45 and it was a long line out the door. I'd say it was a 30 minute wait which wasn't terribly bad. Order the chocolate croissant tasted very authentic and homemade, but wasn't anything special. I'd say a little overrated. The restaurant itself was very inviting warm and a cute little bakery shop. The staff was very friendly and helped out customers as well.

Have wanted to try for awhile but the lines have always been horrible. Stopped by in the afternoon and there was only one person in line. Several beautiful items to select from. They were very helpful in telling us about the flavors and ingredients in the items. Selected 3 items... $24. Overall, a nice experience but not my go-to for a bakery.

Incredible french-style bakery with some of the best pastries in Denver. The lines here on Saturday morning are always 60-90 minutes long by the time they open, so plan ahead. When you get inside, you are warmly greeted and not rushed at all. And the staff is more than willing to take their time to answer any questions you might have, like "what's inside of that?" And they won't make you feel bad when the answer is on the name of the item! All items for sale are out in beautifully presented displays, so it can be as simple as point and order. We got a huge variety of pastries. All perfectly flaky. The fruit components (fresh, cream, jellies) were perfectly balanced. Nothing too sweet, too tart, or too shy. The savory pastries were home runs too, with high-quality meats and ingredients. You can also order ahead, but they only come in packages and those sell out quickly too.

As expected, this place was a treat, the pastries are a work of art. I wish they had less fruity flavors and more vanilla, chocolate, caramel type pastries, but different stroke for different folks. The line is long but they rip through it, didn't have to wait too long. They just moved to a new location and thank god they did, we went to their old location and it deserves a spot like where they are now, their old spot was in a strip mall.

Poulette has a new location in Parker on Mainstreet. I went on Thursday at 8:30am and was surprised to see no line. There were people inside ordering, but the larger space could accommodate many more customers at once. Plenty of tables inside and out for people to stay and enjoy their treats instead of getting crumbs in the car if you can't wait until getting home. The flakiness of those delicious pastries. IYKYK.

We braved the long line and were not disappointed! The chocolate croissant was fantastic. I thought that the cheese brioche wasn't quite as good as it looked though. I was a bit disappointed that they were out of almond croissants, but it makes sense on a weekend morning with how much business they get. Once we had our items, we were able to sit down at a table inside and the atmosphere was pleasant. I have to say, I'm glad I tried this place but I don't think I would wait in the long line to get pastries from here again. There are just too many other good pastry places without the long wait!

Came here on a Thursday morning to grab some pastries with a friend who happens to be from Paris. The place is very small and quaint-- roughly 6 chairs to sit inside. The place is small but lots of variety and authentic French bites. We got a collection of pastries to share-- all good. Will be back.

After hearing great things about this bakeshop I had to come check it out myself and I will admit, this lives up to the hype!! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-made. The canelé was my FAVORITE!! It's perfectly caramelized on the outside, soft and custardy inside. I also tried the lemon stuffy croissant, and it was super flavorful with just the right amount of citrusy and very creamy. Everyone was so pleasant to interact with, kind and welcoming. They also gave out good recommendations because I'm enjoying these pastries a LOT. Would definitely come again!!

Any gluten free options for celiacs?

they have gluten free options but I am not sure about cross contamination. I had a lemon almond cake a few weeks ago that was GF and was DELICIOUS!!! the macarons and parfaits should be GF as well, but always double check with the team at the…

Do they make different types of pastry made everyday? I have been there on a Thursday morning at 8am but did not see cake or pies available as I see in the review photos

They have a bunch of pastries that stay on rotation, but they cycle through some as well. I'd recommend following them on FB or Instagram to keep up with the latest: https://www.instagram.com/poulette_bakeshop/

*CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW…read more I recently got a birthday cake from here and had a no-issue experience! When I called to place my order, they warned me about it being a shared kitchen, but that they do what they can to avoid cross-contamination risk. Normally I would not risk it, but this place was very highly spoken of in the "Denver GF" Facebook group - so I gave it a try! I ordered a GF small white rosette designed cake in the GF better than sex flavor. Everyone at my party loved it (both GF and non-GF folks) and nobody got sick. upon picking up the cake I also had a GF maple glazed donut and GF chocolate chip scone - the GF donuts are held on the top two racks of donuts, and the scones have their own jar. The cupcakes are with the other cupcakes in a display case, but are in front so likelihood of crumbs dropping it lower - they have their own tower / stand within the display. I asked the woman to wash her hands before grabbing my items and she happily did! I did not get sick from any of the three items I tried! The cake is nice and moist, donut was a little dense but good flavor, and the scone was superrrr dry and dense but that's pretty common of GF scones.
