This bed & breakfast has only been open since 2018, but was originally built in 1585 as a convent. It served that purpose until 2014. The hotel is still owned by Sisters of Saint Dorothy. There are a total of 31 rooms, 14 of which have their own bathroom (the other 16 rooms have access to shared toilet facilities).
This is a unique property, so it's difficult to compare to other properties. The staff are all very pleasant and the property is beautiful. In fact, the only way you can see this former convent is to be a guest here (it's not open to the public).
Our room had access to a huge veranda with a view of the lighthouse and the sea beyond it. The bed was not very comfortable and there is no place to hang or store your stuff. The breakfast was possibly the worst I've had at a hotel--there was almost nothing to choose from.
I am very glad we stayed here and it's definitely worth staying here once for its historical and architectural significance. read more
