    two baskets of strawberries
    Maria G.

I used to love stopping by this Farmers Market on my home way from Nags Head. It had so many fruits and vegetables, bread, pickled Jams and etc. It's been a while since I stopped by here (like pre-COVID) and it seems they didn't have much stuff as I remembered. And the vegetables and fruits weren't organic. That's a bummer because that's what I like about Farmers Market. Nonetheless, I picked up some strawberries that were 2 pints for $12. Will make some strawberry jam and strawberry lemonade.

Love it here. Produce is always so fresh and tasty! Very chill vibe. Service is good, mostly teens working.

Horrible. Worker snapped at my son. Totally unwarranted. Left after that, vegetables were overpriced anyway.

Their fruit is overpriced!!! If you are buying before the beach, Food Lion is cheaper!

You can find cooked food, crafts, organic produce, fresh seafood, yerba mate beverages, dog meals, and a great deal of friendly people. It's located in the Vibe district, so even if you have no intention of making a purchase, it's a wonderful Saturday morning walk. Parking is plenty and it's so close to the sand that you can stroll to the beach. If asked my favorite part, I love getting sausage sticks as a walking snack and grabbing my favorite vegetable, shishito peppers.

They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.

They have buckets for you to grab, or you can bring your own. You get charged per pound that you pick and pay when you're done! They had so many strawberries ready to pick, I had so much fun doing this with my friends kids! I was already planning on making a homemade strawberry shortcake when I got home. They have a cute little coffee truck which I obviously had to stop by. If you have a strawberry latte during strawberry season - you can count on me to grab one! It was so good, and not too sweet or tart from the strawberry! I also had to grab their strawberry donuts from the farm stand. Which, needless to say ... they did not make it home with me. We scarfed those down! Incredible. I loved the "petting zoo" area. You can feed the goats, sit in the rabbit pen and give them some pets, and play with the piglets! Such a cute add on to this experience; and the petting zoo was no charge! They also have a ton of toys and bounce houses for the kiddos. If you're looking for a fun strawberry picking experience, give them a try!
