Lied to me to get a sale, not to be trusted. Promised me that they could deliver in the evening,…read morewhen the delivery guys called me to arrange delivery he said he didn't know what they were talking about, they could only deliver between 11 and 12 in my area. This is after taking my money, then threw up every roadblock possible to try and swindle me out of my money for an appliance I had no way of taking deliver of.

I am extremely unsatisfied. A friend of mine purchased an iPhone 15 pro in June 2024 from Harvey…read moreNorman (Sligo branch). While purchasing this iPhone which is already a very large sum of money she was encouraged to take out the partnered insurance plan (which was not cheap) should the phone suffer from mechanical, electrical or physical damage. After only a few weeks she already noticed how bad the battery life was for a new iPhone, she immediately went back to the store where she purchased the phone for assistance. The employees there were extremely rude making it clear it was "not their problem" although she had purchased the phone there. She worked separately with Apple and figured out that it was an issue with a rear camera which drained the battery. She also double checked this with an in store diagnostic. Apple suggested to go to the place of purchase (Harvey Norman Sligo) to get the phone replaced (EU consumer law and protection). My friend done that and was once again refused service. This year (May 2025), she returned to Harvey Norman Sligo with the same issue only this time the phone was entirely broken (it would not turn on). Harvey Norman Sligo refused to help stating they needed a case id to ensure she had actually had a diagnostic. However my friend accepted this and found the case id they were looking for, returning to Harvey Norman Sligo with the number they claimed would make it possible from her to be compensated a new phone as well as a lot of other evidence that proved her case. She was not compensated and they made her factory reset her phone causing her to loose all photos, memories, texts, social media platforms and important emails. She was told to wait up to 21 days which breaks EU law which states it must not take longer than 7-14 days to replace/fix a mobile device. As well as this she was refused by an employee to make a claim on her insurance. She has followed up with an email asking to be contacted by a Harvey Norman Sligo employee within 24 hours and she has been entirely ignored. Not only was Harvey Norman Sligo's employees extremely rude and unhelpful, they are also breaking numerous EU laws in this case. I would never recommend to anyone to purchase from Harvey Norman after witnessing what my friend did/is going through.

Renaissance caught my eye on a day when the shop's sign wasn't even up. In front of the large shop…read morewindow in the George's Street Arcade were two searingly hot pink rococo arm chairs, just two of the incredibly diverse antiques and replicas stocked here and in the shop's second location on Capel street. Inside a serious collector stroked a blue dragonfly Tiffany lamp, chatting amicably with the staff. Taking a look for myself I found an incredible mix of old and new, genuine and "homage" pieces on sale for the kind of prices I'd readily pay... if only I had somewhere to put a marble-topped sideboard and six foot mirror. The vibe in this shop is fun and a bit frantic, something which is echoed by the company's manic website, crammed as the store is with photos of new stock and scrolling updates on the lifespan of each location. Next time you find yourself in the market for a gift with personality for the homeowner who has everything, might I direct you to the only shop in George's Arcade that prominently features more than one Betty Boop statue over three feet tall?
