This gym is a scam!!! Will continue to charge even after contract 12 months are done. Calling it month to month what a joke!!! Owner pusssy footed over the whole situation! I'll just say my husband and I were members but after a horrible experience with the manager and failed attempts of talking to the owner we let our membership expire! We stopped going after the manager was so rude about a matter that could have been discussed in a civilized matter!!! There is a way to talk to people, especially people that make your business happen! We tried to get a hold of the owner but nothing was ever done and no call back!!! read more

Policies are crap. Stair masters always out of service. There are a lot more gyms to choose from.

The gym is not terribly crowded when I go and I can usually find machines without a wait time. They all seem to work and I don't see a lot needing repairs. The music is a bit pop-crap pretty often for my taste, but I think most people would prefer that over what I listen to, so I can't judge them on that. I will say that the bookkeeping needs some work. There was confusion at the beginning when I joined (a few months back) and it was like pulling teeth to get people to fix things. Nobody returns calls when they say they will. Well, one time they did - the rest were ignored. Once they did get stuff resolved, refunds were issued as promised. The kids that run the front desk could be a bit more personable and engaging with people other than themselves, but none of them are rude and I think that better customer service skills will just come with age. None of them look over 21, honestly. I only use the cardio equipment and weight machines - none of the free weights, so I can't comment on the condition of those. Overall - I am a fan. I go 6 days a week typically, early mornings, and it's very calm and quiet. I see people cleaning nearly every day, which is nice. read more

Recently switched to gyms in this area from Beaumont and did a lot of trials and looking around before deciding to come here. The other gyms were always packed at the times I'm at the gym and it was always difficult to get in and get a decent workout in. I've been here during "prime time" and even at its most packed there's still equipment to use and areas to get in a good workout. Plenty of space lots of new equipment and the employees have always been extremely friendly. read more

I see a lot of people leaving awful reviews which really just makes me wonder what kind of people they are or maybe just something really out of ordinary happened to them. LOL As for my personal experience I've had my membership for 5 months now and I haven't any run-ins with any employee's, the guys up at front desk are nice people, ya know say "hey man have a good one" when you are leaving. The atmosphere isn't terrible as one described, they have music playing low, no body is ever grunting or making uncomfortable noises, and the people that attend this gym are all pleasant and easy workout around. As for the equipment, I believe one machine was out of service for maybe 2 days! Thats about all I can think of. I've personally seen the manager (I believe) going around greasing machines making sure everything works properly multiple times. As for crowd, I mean you have to find a time to go. majority of people around here work in the plants so they get off around 5-6, after that time it's gonna be crowded, you can't not like a gym because there is a bunch of people there lol. If that's the case save you money and build your own home gym! But other wise it's honestly a great gym I've been to some other gyms and overall this a great gym! thanks for reading!!! read more

Amazing location with amazing equipment, rogue room is pretty cool. All of that aside, I would not recommend this gym to a friend. The owners are absolutely terrible, all they want is their money. They pester the gym attendees and yell if you make noise, you would expect a little noise considering that it's a gym where metal weights are on metal bars and in a metal rack. This isn't planet fitness. The employees are not much better, rude and unhelpful. With the hours that this gym operates and the location, you'd be better off just going to Exogen. read more

Love it here, the only gym that I actually enjoy going to. I've been a member of others in the area and they just don't keep me interested. It's never too crowded, there is always a machine or piece of equipment that is available to use. Also, and this is a big plus for me...the members that are at the gym aren't there to socialize like other gyms in the area. Everyone is there for a good workout. Also the staff is extremely nice and helpful. I only wish that the hours were a bit different, and had a more variety of "class" hours, but I understand why they are set the way they are. Update: due to World Gym in Port Arthur closing they do tend to get crowded, so if you are shy about working out you'll need to find out when the down time is. They have also added a few more classes, so check them out! read more

Go to Exygon!!! Atmosphere sucks. Customer service sucks. Not enough equipment. Seems like everything should work for all the money they generate. Don't drop your dumbbells, if your a brown guy. Susan came to me to tell me something about dropping 125lb dumbbells when I got done doing incline press's. The guy working out a couple bench's down said that was bull shyt cause he had been dropping his dumbbells as well and the only reason she was telling me something is because my skin is brown. I've had other people tell me the same thing but I never really paid it any mind. Anyway, after being a member since 2014 I finally made the move to Exygon and I must say I couldn't be more satisfied. They greet you every time you walk in and with a smile. It's just such a better environment. The owners at Powerhouse have no concept of customer appreciation. They then teach that to their employees cause then they even start to look at you like you're doing something wrong when in fact they should be treating you with respect and appreciation because if it wasn't for the customer they wouldn't be able to run a business where their livelihood depends on customer satisfaction and return. Exygon is the gym to be at if you're in this area. Unless you align yourself with people of such standards, ethics, and morals. read more

Before getting into any long term contract I recommend getting a day pass to see if the atmosphere is suitable to your needs. If you're a bodybuilder or some type of athlete this is the place for you. The gym itself is nice but the service could use improvement. Like most gyms they can guide you towards the right path to help you obtain your fitness goals. The gym overall is awesome, organized, and has a well set vibe. read more

They will tell you it is a 1 year contract and even after paying on it for longer than the contractual agreement they will demand money for ending the contract!
