Update 1/8/2025: owner of soderburg: actually call me instead of being a coward. Also: your company installed the roof, gutters, and heat tape. You are hiding with Jack behind his lies. I have contract paperwork that proves this continued pack of lies. I will be updating my homeowners insurance with screenshots of this review, your continued lies, and my update as evidence. Yes, I yelled at Jack but Jack is a massive, provable liar. Also, I only yelled at Jack after a week of him doing nothing and allowing my house to get destroyed more by the day. Then the only good person I spoke to at your company, Kalynn, actually spoke to me and understood the problem. Do your company a favor and try to actually make this right. Update 1/9/2025: Guess what? No one called me from Soderburg, so yet another lie coming from them. Just to be clear on the timeline of events: the leaking started 12/30/2024 and I immediately notified Jack at Soderburg. He promised to send someone. Two people came a couple days later (not Jack), took pictures, but didn't fix anything. I continued to inform Jack of increased damage as I found it. I was told actual help would arrive on 1/6/2025 but no one called or showed up. On 1/7/2025, after days of Soderburg doing nothing, Jack basically said "not our problem," I became upset, and Soderburg doubled down on their lies. At this point, I do not trust Soderburg at all as they are not honoring their warranty, and my homeowners insurance is taking over. I have many, many pieces of evidence against Soderburg and they refuse to have any integrity. I gave them far too many chances to fix this mess and they did not. To the "owner's" point: yes, I did like the look of the roof this summer upon completion, but this first winter has proven that there are many issues that did not exist with my previous 27-year-old roof. Completely unacceptable. Update 1/23/25: still no contact from Soderburg via any means (email, snail mail, text, phone, social media, etc.). Homeowners insurance has completely taken over the case. Update 2/6/2025: Soderburg has made no contact still. Repair costs have already exceeded the cost of the roof. Our new contractor has already verified a lot of things Soderburg did incorrectly or poorly that caused the leak. We will see how much more damage we find and how many more issues can be traced back to Soderburg. Do not use this company if you want a company that stands by it's work. Update 6/25/2026: Soderburg has never accepted responsibility for their lies, shoddy worksmanship, acting in bad faith, or violating roofing codes. This is not over. Here is the owner's reply to my Google review. Tons of provable lies! Soderburg Roofing and Contracting (Owner) We did NOT destroy your home and your issue does NOT fall under warranty. You left us 3 unprofessional and condescending voicemails and a 1 star review before you even gave us a chance to reply. Not counting all the text we have to Jack. "Don't use this company" is what you said but we did an amazing install that was up to building codes with an approved permit that you were very satisfied. We have been in contact since yesterday from my knowledge but we will NOT let a customer or anyone for that matter to speak to us in a derogatory manner. Heat tape was installed and was NOT part of our roof install or purchased by Soderburg which caused the snow to melt and re-freeze in your gutter system causing your damage. * 10/28/23 Got welcome email with link to customer portal to sign paperwork and agree to getting…read moreroof done This is the only portal link we were ever given * No follow-up communication about when roof was going in * Showed up while we were gone to deliver roofing shingles * No communication about when they were doing roof * 1/4/24: roof people Showed up unannounced while my wife was in Durango and I was working remotely and started putting the roof on * 1/4/24 noted that bathroom fan had been shoved into the ceiling of the upstairs bathroom, cracking the ceiling. Called Soderburg within a week to repair which they sent someone out to do. * 1/5/24 almost ran over a nail. walked around and realized there were nails everywhere around the property. Few days later almost ran over another nail. Kept finding nails for months afterward. * 2/3/24 woke up to water coming out of the ceiling in the kitchen in the morning. Called soderburg again to have them come out and fix it. Lots of back and forth before they got a guy to came out and put silicone on the shingles above the garage * No communication from soderburg again until 4/11/25 @ 3:22pm MT when Lisa emailed asking for final payment. Customer job portal still shows that the job was never completed as of today. Called Lisa that afternoon to find out what our options were. Asked her if the final inspection was complete and she said she would find out and get back to me. Never heard back from her. Finally got a hold of her a couple weeks later and she said they were doing the final inspection to finish the job. County did the final inspection and noted there were shingles missing from the peak of the roof. Soderburg told us their guy would come out to repair then they would finish inspection. Their guy didn't come out when they said he was going to. Finally showed up a few days later and fixed the roof. County came out and did the inspection. Mailed in final payment. Really bad experience overall. Can't recommend them.

I heard something scratching around in our chimney first thing in the morning. As an avid animal…read morelover, it immediately began to stress me out. I quickly began contacting our property manager (who continually proves to be worthless), animal control, as well as wild animal rehab centers to see if there was anything that could be done. Animal control came (super friendly and helpful), but explained that because our chimney was so weird, the only way to get the little guy out would be to drop a rope through the opening of the chimney at the top and hope it climbs out. It had been a really awful week, and this was just the cherry on top. Hoping to find another answer, I posted to NextDoor asking for help. Paul immediately replied, asked a couple questions about the chimney, then said, "I can be there in about an hour". We spoke on the phone and he made sure I was comfortable with him getting up on the roof before heading over. Sure enough, Paul showed up with his ladders and rope within the hour. I work from home, so I was unable to join him on the roof, but he took charge and immediately took action. He actually had to take a second ladder onto the roof to get to the chimney. I believe he even had to use some tools to get the chimney cap off before running the rope through. While he was up there, he found a squirrels nest outside the flue pipe. Ah ha!! Must be the culprit. Once the rope had reached down to the fireplace, he had me light some incense to help smoke the critter out. We waited for a bit and didn't hear any noise. He offered to leave the rope overnight and come back the next day to retrieve it, but at this point we figured that the squirrel may have been making noise up at the top of the chimney and was not actually stuck in the chimney somewhere. I felt a little foolish, but at ease knowing that there wasn't a little animal trapped somewhere. While on the roof, Paul also made us aware of the hail damage. We are just renters, so we hope our property managers are on top of that, but it was nice to know that he was also looking out for other areas that needed repair. He also explained what needed to be done to keep the squirrels from making nests in that spot. Paul is a kind and caring neighbor who went out of his way to help me with something I knew nothing about. The amount of stress I had been experiencing in the past week had really been wearing on me. Paul took that stress and turned it into relief. I can't thank him enough for his help. I highly recommend using Paul for any renovation or restoration needs. His patience, ingenuity, and kindness make him an A++ in my book. Thank you so much, Paul!!
