The purpose of obtaining legal counsel was to shield our son from the ticket's negative effects on his driver's license and auto insurance. As paid legal counsel, it was your responsibility to clearly disclose possible outcomes and consequences. Had this been appropriately communicated, we would have not accepted your proposal of 5 mph over and possibly sought alternative representation. According to your firm's website, Attorney Pavone stresses the importance of not pleading guilty as it is associated with negative consequences. By accepting the guilty plea on our behalf, you have now cost us thousands of dollars in insurance premiums and two points on his license. You are the experts here. You are in court handling these cases every day, and I am confident you are able to achieve more successful results. Otherwise, you wouldn't stay in business. At this point, there is nothing we can do. We will have to accept the judgement, which is extremely disappointing. In regards to the 2023 accident, he was hit by another driver and was deemed "not at fault." We have reviewed the DMV records, which does not list any points associated with said car accident; however, the speeding ticket is associated with 2. We also confirmed with the insurance company that the speeding ticket, and not the accident, was the reason for the price increase. As you can understand, we will not be recommending your firm.
