I used to come here a lot when I worked nearby. Huge selection of wines, beer and hard liquor. The prices are a little high but they carry wines you can't find anywhere else. Every few months they have a 20% sale on wines. It is worth it to stock up on wines. The store is not in the city of Colorado Springs so you don't have to pay city sales tax. Great selection, decent prices hit and miss on discounts. (There should always be a military discount) I would NOT recommend taking advice of anyone there on anything, especially wine. I have asked the so called experts on staff for suggestions several times and not once have the got close to their claims, after the third or fourth round of recommendations I think they just push you in the direction of what they are having trouble getting rid of or make the most money on. Dont get me wrong I do my research beforehand but having the reassurance of the "expert" really helps in our decision making process. Out of all of the places I go to for higher end alcohol this one could never hit the mark. This is my go to liquor store in the city - I often drive out of my way to go here. I really want to give them a five star rating, but I simply can't overlook Costco's significantly cheaper costs, albeit a far smaller selection of booze. Having said that, Powers Liquor Mart has an excellent selection on liquor - even on higher end whiskey, which I appreciate. Their beer and wine selection knows no bounds either! They are reasonably priced ok everything. I also really like that they have a weekly special selection - and often times with the really good stuff! The staff is always kind and forthcoming with advice. I never feel rushed or unwanted as a customer. And while I rarely use it (I just like to browse!), they have a freaking drive through window!! How awesome is that? So long as you know exactly want, just roll up, they grab your order, you pay and off you go - very convenient! While this may not impact most, I also appreciate two of your policies, unlike Springs Liquor Mart on N Carefree. First, as a concealed carry permit holder, thank you for not forcing me to remove my personal defense firearm to go inside. A 'no firearm permitted' policy is ridiculous. Bad guys don't care about that - and I'm just a regular customer who's also a law abiding citizen with a permit. Secondly, thanks for letting me wife bring her purse inside versus being viewed as a thief simply for carrying a bag as many women do. Springs liquor mart excels on making their customers feel liKe presumed criminals while Powers Liquor Mart excels at treating customers as being welcomed and appreciated. read more

I like this place because it has good sales and avoids city sales tax. It is a bit of a drive for me, so I tend to buy larger amounts but come here less frequently. They lost a star because they ran out of a wine that is very available everywhere on my last two trips. They seem to have 20% off all 750 ml wines every so often, so stocking up is easy and cheap. read more

Amazing selection! Any and every type of liquor you can think of, and even ones you can't! (For example, the last time I was in I saw Peanut Butter and Jelly flavored vodka... WHHHAAAA???) They have an extensive collection of wine from the really cheap to the really expensive and have a beer selection that rivals any liquor store I have ever been to. The majority of the staff here is really knowledgeable -- not just about alcohol in general (which is always nice) but also about what they have in their inventory and where you can find it. They offer tastings as well. I have never been to one, but there is a section set up in the middle to host the tasters at. Last, they have a drive-thru. Yep. A. Drive. Thru. We use it when we want to make a quick run and already know exactly what we want. Otherwise, it's fun to walk in, browse the shelves and come out with something new! read more

Came here for wine, and was very impressed w/ the selection from California, especially some of the gems they had from the Central Coast (e.g., Melville, Brewer-Clifton). Always a wide selection on liquor which is always a plus especially during quarantine. Prices are extremely reasonable compared to those around me from what I've noticed. I ordered two cases of liquor for delivery. Since I had never used that service before, even though I am a long time customer, I discussed, in detail my order with one of the clerks. She went on and off the phone with her supervisor and assured me that on sale liquor would be delivered with a $5.00 charge. This seemed fair, even though the bill would be nearly $600.00 dollars. Never was it mentioned, or is it in their ads, that they do not deliver at the sales price. When the delivery guy got here, he ran a bill for nearly $800.00 and only then was I told about the "no sales price" deliveries. He took the liquor back and said he would reverse the charge. That was not done and my several calls to the manager to reverse the charge have been met with total refusal even though they caused the problem. Needless to say, after years of being a customer, My advice is to find a business you can trust. read more

This place has it all. Imagine if Best Buy quit selling electronics and started selling booze. After years and years trying to find an Austrian beer I came in here and BOOM! there it was! They not only had the beer but they had 3 of their other styles. Needless to say, I bought a large amount of them. This place had a drive through as well, but unlike normal drive throughs, they have no selection to choose from. You need to know what you want and ask for it directly. You can also get the mix match sixer that allows you to pick your own six pack of local beers so you're not limited to one type of beer. Perfect for us beer snobs. If you can't find what you're looking for here, than chances are you won't be able to find it anywhere else in the city. With military discount you can't go wrong with Powers Liquor Mart. read more

We bought all of the alcohol for our wedding here! They were very helpful in recommending wines and beers. (Helpful tip - only buy 4 beers for your wedding - A main beer like Budweiser, a light beer, and two craft beers.) They also hooked us up with a nice discount for buying in bulk. They literally have just about anything you could possiblely want to pour down your gullet. The idea of a drive through is simplistic genius. I do wish the drive through hours were a little broader. For Christmas 2016 I ordered 2 bottles of KettleOne vodka to be delivered to my aunt in Peyton, CO through the website Drizly.com. Simple enough...until the Drizly delivery guy tried to deliver the package while my aunt was out. He needed her signature before leaving the liquor. So he returned to Powers Liquor Mart and told me that I would have to make "other arrangements" as he is only required to make one attempt. I live in Houston...what was I going to do!? I called the manager John at Power Liquors on December 23 and told him of my issue. The store was obviously busy because I could hear him taking care of multiple customers while talking with me. Nevertheless he said that he would have someone from PLM deliver the vodka to my aunt who lived 30 min away. It was a simple conversation...no mention of money or referral back to Drizly.com. He was going to take care of it. My aunt received the liquor package that evening! She was ecstatic, which made me happy. While there are a number of options for purchasing liquor in Colorado Springs, I suggest that you try Powers Liquor Mart. I can't express how much I love this store! The staff is AMAZING! Not only are they friendly, but they are ALWAYS willing to help. There is someone to help with whatever you like. From wine to beer to hard liquor, you name it and you will get a recommendation. They will walk you to the aisle and stay with you until you have made a choice that makes you feel satisifed. The best part is the items that they don't carry, like certain wines, let them know and they will order a case for you. They run weekly specials, tastings and overall fair and reasonable prices on everything. Liquor Mart has taken a negative hit on customer service. They no longer deliver kegs of beer. There are people who don't have a vehicle to pick up a keg and/or they cant lift a keg with or without help. At least provide a delivery service within X miles for these folks who like beer from a keg. read more

I went with my wife and we picked out what we wanted. We got to the cashier, put the items on the counter and were ready to start the transaction. We are both in our 50s and my wife doesn't drive because she is disabled. Since she doesn't drive, she doesn't need to carry an ID. The rude cashier (there are ways to word policies and treat people, this cashier needs training) said if we didn't both produce IDs, we couldn't make a purchase. My wife then went outside and the cashier still wouldn't sell it to me. I went outside, came back in, and asked if I could make the purchase now. She informed me they have a 24 hour waiting period. I understand the policy, they card EVERYBODY. Well, I was alone the 2nd time and would gladly have supplied my ID. I don't understand the waiting period. I feel like I dodged a bullet as I went to another store and they had lower prices and treated me like a customer that they appreciated. My advice is to avoid this dump and head to a store that appreciates customers. read more

Cashier was very rude and had attitude. My wife and I were at the check out counter waiting and asked the cashier if he was ready. He said no not yet in a snippy way. The customer ahead of us grabbed another bottle as we waited. When we got to the register I had my ID ready and my credit card out. At this time there was a line of four or five waiting behind us. The clerk told my wife she needed to show ID too as she was with me. We are both over fifty and don't look under 21, or 30 or 40. My wife had to go back out to the car, get her ID and went to show it to him. He didn't even look at it other than she had it on her. At this point we really had enough of this bull. My wife said that if you are making me go get my ID you are going to look at it to confirm my age and identity. He gave us more attitude and started quoting what he said was the law about ID checking. It really went south from there with this guys attitude and I almost left our proposed purchase on the counter. If I had more time to get my liquor shopping done I would have gone to another store. I spend and have spent over the course of ten plus years a lot of money at this store as it is a convenient location and has a large selection and good prices. That all is going to change as I am not going to frequent this store ever again. I am going to tell all my friends who shop there and anyone else who will listen about my bad experience.
