We have a Murphy bed bought around 10 years ago which daughter has used in "open" position throughout; it seems rock-solid, and we've enjoyed the built-in touch lighting. Only downside: this style of bed limits mattress thickness, so we haven't been able to provide daughter the thick cushiness she'd have preferred. The showroom is a favorite landmark on the route between Albany and Bennington, with its whimsical display of vivid-hued Adirondack-style chairs and giant furniture.

Doors open at 9:00 and people start lining up as early as 6:00 a.m. The line starts at the west door. The regulars bring "sold" stickers and quickly place them on items as they are enter the building. Parking is limited and tight. The building also houses an antique mall with a broad arrange of east coast antiques. Ask for a 10 percent discount if you pay by cash or check on items over $25. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If you like antiques, Sanford and Kid is a unique and fine experience.

If your interested in shopping there on Friday morning bring you and 10 of your closest friends and start standing in line at 8:30am. As soon as u enter grab EVERYTHING you might suspect as valuable. There are many antique and used furniture stores around, but most of them sell cheap pieces of furniture that are in poor condition or, the nicer ones are over-priced. I've been in Joe's many times now, waiting for the right style/size of piece to show up, and every piece in his store is high quality, excellent condition, and most are solid hard wood at prices you won't find anywhere else. Today the right size/style of dresser that my husband and I have been looking for finally turned up at Joe's! Yay! As everything is in his store, it was SO reasonably priced, we really felt like we got a great deal. I'll never shop elsewhere for used furniture now that I've found Joe's! Plus, Joe is a super nice guy. As a side note, I do know that he is planning on moving the store around the corner to the mill in Bennington within the next couple of months, so be aware of that.
