They ruined our new patio by creating "divets" and going over it with the bobcat, smushed our drain (that we installed ourselves) and the lawn was not done properly. They said they removed 6 inches of dirt, put down the same amount of good quality loam and handraked it to get the glass out. We still have glass and the lawn has not grown in yet! It's patchy, full of crab grass and isn't leveled or pitched away from the house. The owner, Sandra Alibierti, come out to the property after we called and she agreed with all the items and was going to rectify the situation. Joe Talbot, Project Manager, did not do what he promised and now Sandra and Joe are no where to be found! They took our money (even after seeing the mess that was left) and it was not cheap! They are not registered with the Secretary of the State and do not have a certificate to do business at Peabody City Hall. It's our fault for not checking to begin with.... STAY FAR AWAY!

Even though I did not see great reviews for them on here, I really got a sense that they were honest and were eager to do the work. We decided to hire them and they started the work a week later. They leveled our yard, built several beautiful retaining walls, stairs, an irrigation system and a fence. The entire process took less than two weeks, and although the grass hasn't start to grow yet, we could not be happier with the results. I found them to be a great group of guys, and it's nice to know that they all have worked together for quite some time and most of them are family members. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the future should I need any landscaping services done.

After having our old (early 1900's) garage replaced, our back yard was in terrible shape from the…read moreheavy equipment running over it. In addition, excess gravel from digging out the new garage's foundation covered some of the lawn. I contacted Matz to see what he could do to fix those problems and to smooth out a steep bank that cut across the yard. This included removing the gravel, adding a layer of top soil, and hydro-seeding the area. We also wanted to have some granite steps put in to join the upper and lower levels of the yard. Paul Matz gave us an estimate, which I thought was very fair, and did everything we agreed on. The new steps looked great, and the new grass was coming up, except for a couple of small areas. Paul arranged for additional hydro-seeding to address those problem spots. Paul and his crew were always prompt and courteous. I am happy to say that I would recommend Matz Landscape and Irrigation to anyone needing those services.

He said he would be out in mid April to do the work. Mid April came and we never heard from Matz so we called again. Nothing. Two weeks later we called again. Nothing. So we had to have the sprinklers moved for other work we were having done. I called a different irrigation person. The new person came out, did the work we asked and gave me a review of the sprinkler system that was put in. He showed me that on one side of my yard the hosing for the sprinkler system was showing thru the ground, and as he was air raiding our yard he put a hole in the system because the hosing was not buried deep enough. He also told me that the hosing Matz used was a small diameter, if he used a bigger diameter hose (we are on town water so we had enough pressure) he would not have had to put in all the sprinkler heads thus saving us some money. The final thing is that the rain sensor does not work properly. When in the active position even if there is no rain, the system does not work. So we have to keep the system in the bypass mode to have the system work, and when it is going to rain we put it in the active mode so the system does not turn on. We are extremely displeased with Matz Landscape Company. They will not return our calls. I would think very carefully before you decide to use this company. There are a lot of better businesses out there to choose from. I wish we did.

We had used Marlon for some tree work and general landscaping approx. 2 years ago, 2019, and wanted at that time to remove a tree which was severely damaging our sidewalk to a point the sidewalk was dangerous. Unfortunately Cambridge had a tree removal moratorium in place so we had to delay this work. We finally decided to go forward with the tree removal, pay Cambridge the fine for removal and we called Marlon. Marlon seemed happy to hear from us again and have a repeat customer. Marlon sent his tree person out to provide an estimate for the tree removal, trimming another tree and removing a dead tree stump and sidewalk repair. Seems like a decent size smallish job. Marlon's tree man said he would have a proposal to us "shortly" within the following week. We never received a quote-proposal. We have left several voice msgs and have also sent two or three e-mails to Marlon and we have never heard back. Marlon has ghosted us. There is another review where Marlon scheduled an appt. and never showed up. If you want to be ghosted or waste your time waiting for Marlon well, then he's your man-company. Find someone else who does care and does good work. Too bad to lose a repeat customer.

Erik had no problem at all doing that and tearing out some unsightly and overgrown bushes. He set up an appointment to come and see the project, turned up right on time and was able to start work within two weeks. He and his team gave us a whole new yard in less than three days. They ripped up the old landscaping, removed the asphalt, regraded the back yard and lay sod. They started and finished on time, made sure I knew what was going on at each stage of the process and demonstrated perfect professionalism throughout. Erik made sure I was happy with the results before he left and gave me some great tips on caring for my new lawn.
