My family and I LOVED coming at Prado Regional Park. Enjoyed the scenery spacious,so clean around park, especially restroom and how staffs constantly checking & empties trash container. Sending a BIG SHOUT out to God for blessing us with these Barrett's Family Reunion. And for our God Parents, Aunt's, Uncle's, Brother's, Sister's, In-Laws, Cousin's, Niece's, Nephew's and all our extended families. Such a Blessing to see you all. Prado...what happened? We used to love you so! We've camped here many times over the past few years, and it has been green and beautiful. However, this last trip was less than awesome, and we're so disappointed. First of all, unless you really like camping in the dirt, definitely avoid campsite 50. It's big and spacious, but your RV will be full of ants before you go to sleep, as the nearby trees are FULL of ant trails. If you don't already, make sure you use the DE or Borax powder on any potential entry point! The site itself is shady all day, but again, it comes at a cost. There are also tons of flies, gnats, and mosquitoes (they don't bother me, but they love my boyfriend!). A bug zapper helps, but the moment the sun goes down, it is ON! Those little effers are out in force! As for the dirt...well, we didn't realize that there are sites with concrete pads, and those without. This was our first time stepping out onto dirt from the RV instead of concrete, and it was awful. If we had been prepared, we might have been ok. Other sites have a pad and are surrounded by grass, but this one was just dirt. Upon scouting out the park in the evenings, we noticed that most of the camp area is full of totally brown/dead grass and dirt. So much so, that we asked the ranger the next day and she explained that they can't keep up with the maintenance of their irrigation systems because "people keep driving over the lines in the dark...and park where they're not supposed to"! She seemed upset about it, too, and explained that they can't enforce anything with citations, or warnings at all. She said maybe next year they'll catch up on it. Shrug. Anyway, we likely won't be back unless we can book a site that we already know has a concrete pad. Also, they upgraded the campground restrooms and showers, which were clean enough. However, it would have been so lovely if they could have included soap and soap dispensers in the restrooms! The only place I found a soap dispenser was in the RR near the marina...but...it was empty. Sigh. A disappointing trip all the way around, because the lake was closed due to an algae bloom the 3rd day we were there, so no fishing or peddle boats, either! The splash pad was a redeeming quality, because we had a blast with my granddaughter! Otherwise, this was a dud. Prado needs to get it together! read more

Arrived at this park Saturday, June 20 at 8:15 in the morning, paid $40 for me and my kid to enter and fish. Once we entered the park and drove around the lake, I noticed that there was a gonglomerate amount of people and nearly everyone was fishing. There were zero open spots to fish. The vegetation has grown so high and taking up so much of the shore it's really limited the spots fisherman have to fish. I scoured the edge, the bank and did not find one open spot for me and my son to fish! I wish person at the front gate had mentioned. Hey there's a lot of people here. You may not find a spot but no nothing! upon walking to the lake on 5 different occasions the water was extremely green and very disgusting to look at. We were in the park less than 30 minutes when I went back to the front gate and requested a refund because I wasn't going to stay. Nowhere on the front gate, the front office, door the inside, glass on the inside walls: does it say that refunds are not given on site or not at all. After speaking to the clerk Alex, who was really rude, informed me that refunds are not given, but a document needs to be filled out and processed, and then MAYBE approved by two upper people only then for them to MAYBE decide if a refund can be given. Total bullshit. You've taken my entry fee, your provided zero communicate to fishing related questions, and you won't issue me a refund on the spot, why? read more

Everything.. 1. Have a noticed at entrance of park stating that there is 2 lines both cash and credit. Although I don't understand why you can't pay either on same line... " very shady " and this way it would avoid fights at the line with cars moving from one lane to another, because of their preferred payment 2. 8am and the bathroom at the snack bar is closed because bathroom is out of order. I wouldn't have a problem with going to another bathroom but I am recovering from 3 back surgeries. I can barely walk on my walker so I stayed close to bathroom and it turns out that its closed and now I have to walk to the other side of the lake, making my pain more aggravating. Like most of us that come prepared and ready to have a Great time, it would be nice if just once, the park can focuse on fixing and preparing bathrooms to make them ready for us to use. I'm not asking for much, but it shows that this park in general only prefers making money. And they really don't give a shit about anything or anyone but themselves. 3. They know how many parking they have, and people are parking on grass because of lack of parking spaces and they have the nerve, the audacity to ask people to ind parking spaces when there aren't any left and of course, that's when all of a sudden " we don't do refunds" This place sucks........... I love this Park. I love the paddle boat. I love the fishing. I love the fishing game more than the Park Rangers. Everything about this park is just so amazing. There's so much to do there whether you wanna just grill whether you want a fish whether you wanna go out on the lake or if you just wanna take the kids to get wet in the hot summer heat it's all there very clean very safe and very secure. read more

I live in chino hills, this place sucks for reason, if I wanted to camp on potholes and gravel, and dirt I would have went Norco! These workers are rude and they hate their jobs. The amenities, lacked I seen better amenities in 3rd world countries. This disgraceful! Who ever is in charge, you do not care nor do wish to improve this park! I've contacted the city of Chino hills and Chino and state reps. This is awful. And the parking and front entrance personnel! They're worse then ICE on good day! Talk about unprofessional people. Prado Park is located off the 71 FWY off Euclid. I believe their new prices as of May 2025 are now $10/vehicle on weekdays and $15/vehicle on weekends & special events. $3/pedestrian, $1/dog must be on a 6' leash at all times. They list all fees on their website FYI. The park is huge! It offers picnic facilities, biking, kid's playground, hiking, fishing, camping, trails, and more. It has a meeting room that seats up to 80 people and can be used for parties, or simply gatherings. I also noticed additional offerings such as an equestrian center, disc golf course, archery and shooting ranges. Don't expect to see pretty, colorful flowers but the park is nice and clean. Some areas will have gopher holes, watch your step. Staff do their best to keep the park enjoyable, which it is. Overall, it's always a great, relaxing time at Prado Park. read more

I take the kids here probably 3-4 days a week during the summer. It's a great place for the kids to run around, fish, catch mosquito fish and just get dirty. We love to go and relax and take pictures and fish. The people that work here are nice and have always been welcoming. My only cons are people don't clean up after themselves and leave their trash and bait trash and fishing line everywhere. My kids find tons of hooks, lures, trash and tons of random things just laying on the ground. If you're going to just fish in hopes you'll catch a ton of fish good luck. We go for 8 hours and will either catch nothing or maybe a small catfish. When we used to go a few years ago we would catch a lot of fish a day. The bugs are horrible out here. We are in the campground in a trailer have tons of aunts and mosquitos at night. Will not be back!

Tent camping (not group tent) sites are RV sites, so you're surround by lots of RVs! Fishing: need a state license and their private license and No fishing after 5pm! Lake closes when the park closes even if you have a campsite! Ranger only allows you to be at your campsite- night security drives around, too. For safety reasons I guess- you're camping near a prison- you can hear alarm bells and guards on their speaker/megaphones. Wood fires are allowed! Hooray for this! read more

We camp here all the time with large groups of kids. Lots to do. Easy camping. Hook ups. Splash pads. Bike and scooters.

I wasn't invited here for a birthday picnic and some fishing. The park is beautiful. Our party found a nice shady tree to set up. We were right next to the water park area. And We were also very close to the fishing spot. I do wish they would stay open an hour later. Parking is $15. read more

This is a nice looking county park with lots of open space, parking, and a lake. The park offers picnic areas with grills, playground, fishing, camping, and trails for hiking and bicycling. There's also a multi-purpose room that's available for rental, as well as restrooms. Vehicles pay an admission fee of $10-20, depending on day of enrry. read more

We love to camp in our RV here, a lot of nice upgrades but we were over run with pincher bugs, ie earwigs at our camp site. Be prepared to battle them with insect spray n blower, but they are everywhere this year, be sure to stamp your chairs out as they crawl up in chairs n like to hide where dark. This review is specifically for the rental of onsite rv. My husband and I rented an rv here it was spot RV-63. I have rented RVs that they drop off at other campgrounds but this is first time renting one here. The RV itself was ok but maybe my expectations were high because of our past experiences renting RVs for drop off which were much nicer (but more expensive). This RV sleeps 6 but I would say that would be a little tight if it is 6 adults or teenagers. I wasn't able to sleep on the queen size bed with my husband because they stacked two mattresses on the bed and it made it too high for me to get on. I slept on the small couch that makes into a bed but honestly it was more comfortable sleeping on it as a couch so that's what I did on second night. The mattresses for the single bunks seemed like they were after market purchases that were too long for the bunks. If you have sleeping bags I would recommend bringing them because the mattresses are all heavy plastic covered. The bathroom was tight. The camp personnel do a walk thru with you at check in and the woman who did the walk through kept emphasizing needing to clean the rv before checkout specifically emphasizing cleaning the toilet so bring Clorox wipes and gloves (gross). Checkout was a little frustrating because we had to drive to the main gate and then had to wait 30+ minutes for someone to check us out. You cannot call from RV site because we were told their phone system does not work. Would I rent again? Maybe....better than a tent! Cost was $160/night plus $10 reservation fee and a $300 RV cleaning/damage deposit that was credited back to my credit card in about 5 days. read more

Went camping and the showers were so gross they clean them once a day. It smells and there's food wrappers in the shower and one of them had poop in it. I showered at 6:30 am and at tpm the poop was still there. My sister also had to walk to to furthest restroom because two locations were closed and she said there was no toilet paper and poop and pee on the toilet seats. They need to hire more staff. Also they asked everyone in our party for their car registration. They have never done this before and if the other cars visiting our camp aren't staying they shouldn't ask them. Clearly they have the tags. The guy at the front wasn't very helpful either they make the campers pull to the side and then there's no where to park theres a small sign you can't even see telling you to pull in to the side but it's right in front of the office. It needs to be at the beginning of the entrance so people know where to go. This was on fourth of the July and they did double stocking two weeks before so the lake was dead no one caught in the three days I was there fishing. The grass was all dry no green anywhere. This place isn't getting better but worse. My family won't continue our yearly trip here any more read more

The only thing this park has going for it is a newly renovated playground and splash pad. Otherwise, the grounds are so poorly maintained and run-down that there is zero reason to visit. Grass areas are completely destroyed by gopher holes and dry weeds, and I'm not sure how any fish would survive in that water. The $15 parking is clearly trying to compensate for the new entry way and playground but $5 would be more than fair for what you're getting in return. read more

Very hard lake to fish, the water is always murky and shallow. If don't like to move around and learn the lake don't visit.

The good: spacious setting with full hook ups. Lots of hiking trails, playground, and fishing. Great for RVers! The bad: a lot of construction and the area is too urban to call it a campground. Most of the view consists of big RVs. A lot of traffic! A lot! And holey moley, the ground is holey! The very worst of it is the firing rang. Consistent gun shot ALL DAY! I almost didn't visit because of all the negative reviews. I came because I'm a landscape photographer and wanted to take pictures of the lake. First off, parking for the day was $8 (and yes they close at 5 PM). So if you come late afternoon like myself, you end up paying $8 for a couple of hours, so use your time wisely! There were no walking trails. I parked and walked through a holey field of grass. If I didn't look down while walking I probably would have sprained my ankle. I'm not sure if the stinky poo smell is from nearby horse stables but it stinks. Literally. I noticed a couple feeding bread to all the wild birds. I can't stress this enough bread is bad for birds! It clogs up their digestive system. I just kept parking at different lots, walking down to the lake to photograph my view. It was pretty, but this park needs a lot of work. read more

Kind of ugly and run down, but cost $10 per vehicle to access the park. Most go there for fishing and camping, I think. Only good thing is the birds that you will see there. I saw white pelicans and a Muscovy duck. Don't think I will ever return. read more
