Lots of signs that management JUST DOESN'T CARE. Here's a list of the things that spring to mind,…read moreroughly in order of when I encountered them: * Desk clerk didn't know the area and had no suggestions for places to dine. She was new to the job and area, but this was something that Mgt should have been encouraging her to learn -- there are literally dozens of restaurants within a mile of the location. * We booked a room with two queen beds, so in theory the room could hold four adults. There were TWO bath towels in the bathroom, two face towels, two washcloths. There was ONE hook to hang anything on. No additional towel bars. No bath mat to step out of the shower with wet feet onto the tiles. * Nobody on staff knew how to operate the in-room safe, which had bad/ambiguous directions printed on it (I have worked on documentation, so I judge from having to clear up bad tech doc.) Even if we'd managed to get the safe open, we didn't trust that the directions would let us get it open again, and nobody on staff said they knew how to operate it... * There was barely cable TV, in that the remote with all the fancy buttons for Guide and Mute and CC and all that -- none of them worked except for On Off Volume and changing channel up and down. There were plenty of channels, but I gave up after flipping through at least ten sports channels. Called the front desk and asked if we'd been given the wrong remote, they told us (clearly having had this discussion before) that was how it worked. They didn't even have a printed channel guide to offer with a list of the channels available and their numbers. * There was also no hotel channel/video checkout available, of course. * The maid must have come, because the tip we left disappeared. As far as I could tell, NOTHING ELSE was done -- no beds made, no towels replaced, bathroom floor was a little dirty. Couldn't tell what else might have been done (vacuuming?) -- but she sure as hell found that tip. * The hotel is at the end of an unlighted side road past waste land that clearly is intended sometime to be developed, so it's full of weeds and rocks. The back of the hotel has a view of abandoned construction equipment, eroded dirt banks and a dismal drainage pond -- in fact the same view as the previous review took a picture of. In conclusion, unless you get a really good deal, it may be worth it to find a better hotel in the area. Would not stay here again unless I had no choice.

Terrible! Elevators and laundry were out of service and closed the whole time. We asked for pillows…read morefor the kids sleeper sofa and were told they had no pillows. Even worse, they ran out of breakfast at 8 am! There was popcorn on the floor in our room when we arrived too. Not staying here again.

Came for a 1 day conference so we stayed just one night, staff were pleasant and seemed to know…read morewhat they were doing but they only had one bartender/server working during dinner (with a little help from 2 guys who needed to be told everything more than once) and one server in the morning for breakfast service. The menu states there's a buffet but there was not. Two members of my team ordered steak and eggs and waited an hour before they got served. One asked for decaf and was told it wasn't going to happen after waiting 30 min. Rooms were okay, we had 5 rooms total, 3 on the 4th floor, 1 on the 3rd and 1 on the 2nd. All of them were different. Pool hours posted said 8am to 10pm, but when we were using it, the female bartender came out and asked us to finish up at 9:55 stating the pool closed at 9 and they were turning the lights off. I can understand having shorter hours than other hotels because some of the lower floor rooms look out onto the pool area. Work out space had more machines than most. Conference center is across the parking lot. Bathrooms needed attending to more than they were. Microphone mishaps during most of the sessions I was in.

We had a comfortable stay at the Delta Marriott. We would rate the hotel 3's and the hotel staff…read more5's-plus! The staff was phenomenal! Dae, Sasha, Patrick and JoAnn were so personable and accommodating. Our room was quiet, a little tired, with very comfortable bed and amenities, including the hot shower. The hotel offers a gym and pool. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and cocktails and returned the next day for breakfast. We shall come back again!

If you're looking for a swanky place to go in Kalamazoo, SkyDeck is your place. I always feel like…read morethe drinks are a good $2 more than the other bars in the Entertainment District, and there's only the 1 bar so you may have to wait if it's busy. Oh, but it's never been busy when I've gone. Background music was playing, and yes you can get a view of the city, but there's a lot of cranes and building going on now, and you're only really 7 stories up. I wish they'd move the smoking section (or get rid of it altogether) since you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to the bathrooms...

Upon moving to Kalamazoo, Skydeck took somewhat of a mythical status in my mind. Who wouldn't want…read moreto live it up on the tallest bar in Kzoo? The fact that you can't see it's layout from the ground floor lends to the allure. All this is to say that I created a legend in my head that sadly wasn't true. Skydeck was interesting, fun for a night, and not much more. Perhaps it's for this reason that I gave it an average rating. But I also think that there were a few flaws regarding the space and I'll lay them out here. First and foremost, you pay a premium to be in this space, both in the form of a cover ($10, nothing insane) and an apparent tariff on the drinks (maybe it's handling fees for hauling it all up so high?). Either way, you should expect to be a bit gouged for cash. Not all of the drinks are insane, but mixed drinks are pricey, and some of their "signature" drinks top $12. Now, initially, this might seem like a fair trade: a bit extra for high quality drinks and a higher quality view. But here's the rub: it's a small space, it's packed, and the edge seats go first. For me and my group to enjoy the breathtaking view of Kalamazoo, we would have to stand or share tables. It's difficult to blame them for being popular. That being said, I don't really feel like we received the main feature of the venue. A friend of mine put it sagely: it's a great date spot, or celebration, but you don't go their to drink. You go there for the experience. Therefore, this won't become one of my "regular spots." Here are some positives to end on: -Amazing view of the city -Great ambiance, especially at night -Wonderful service -Elevator!
