Fort Worth is off my beaten path, but it sounded like it was going to be worth the trip, and it was. There is an ambiance about the place that puts you right at home. It's an old school vibe that takes you back to 1934 when Archie Sr. founded the place. They have a nursery and also a landscape division, so if you are not a do-it-yourself person, they can take care of things for you. When you park and enter in, the first thing that hits you sit he size of the place, it's huge! They have an amazing selection and it is accompanied by fantastic customer service. And these are just nice friendly folks, they are extremely knowledgeable and can pretty much help you with any horticultural or landscaping need.

I am a customer of Silver Creek and have been for about 18 months now. It's a great place, and I've taken several folks there to buy direct. Mostly, I'll have a contractor pick up for me, or I'll buy some bags cause it's easy (Bulk is way cheaper if you need a lot!) ... They will even tell you that! They are big on doing the RIGHT thing for their customers. They take a long-term attitude to doing good business. So, today is the first time I've scheduled them for a delivery. Let's just say there was an account/paperwork 'SNAFU', and when I did not hear from them by ~12:30 I thought I better call, as they close @ 1:00. Glad I did. They had set up another account, and it had an error in the number and e-mail. Bummer. It was close to closing time.... They could have said "sorry about that, we'll call on Monday". But here's the deal. They didn't. Irma worked to recall a driver and Josh stepped up to manage the process. When I let them know that I had scheduled a crew to come out Sunday early to spread the dirt, they jumped into action. The made things happen fast. This is a testament to how they handle service and support. I was a bit disappointed at first, cause the contractor I am using wanted/needed the extra work. The WORST lawn care EVER!…read more First, I was required to sign and pay up front for a one year contract specifying the normal lawncare and landscaping that would be provided. They NEVER fulfilled the terms of their contract. I had to call them three times regarding routine care that was supposed to be provided. If I ever asked questions, Mr. Smith became angry that I should question him. He was very chauvinistic and demeaning to me. He asked me if I was this "bitchy with everyone" when I asked why the bushes were not trimmed and the lawn was cut unevenly. He broke my gate, and it looked as though it had been cut with a saw, so it had to be rebuilt. He broke 3 of my landscape lights, some flower pots and lawn ornaments. The lock from my gate disappeared. He told me I was stupid to keep the gate locked despite my having an attractive nuisance in the yard that could cause the death of a child were the gate not locked. He always claimed he had not broken anything and did not offer an apology, let alone replace or repair for the damage. He told me that a woman without a husband could not handle a house alone. He did not clean up the lawn waste and clippings. Though he claimed to have been at the house, I could find no evidence that anything had been done. The lawn was covered with leaves, there were weeds in the planters, the bushes were untrimmed. I called when I got home from work and he yelled at me for not calling during business hours and asked me who I thought I was. I thought I was the person who contracted for his services and paid him upfront! Now, I KNOW I am a former customer who was taken to the cleaners and will never allow him on my property again.

We worked mainly with Laura Arif, one of the few women in roofing industry. She was very knowledgeable, pleasant, & communicated everything timely. They contacted State Farm regarding our roof, explained to us the process & findings that warranted roof replacement. Laura informed us of status of the claim throughout the entire process. It was a long process, but was stress-free, thanks to Laura. She went over & explained the detailed of final insurance approval with us, what was covered & what wasn't. They hired public adjuster on our behalf at no extra cost to us. There were no hidden "service fees" or "supplemental" costs. They were sticking to the contract & did what they promised. We paid for back porch painting & repairs of our damaged sidings. When painting the barn, they replaced all the damaged woods without being reminded or told to. Charlie, who worked with Laura, would check on work progress when Laura couldn't. They listened & made sure that we were happy with the work. Laura also had great suggestions on color choices, & we were glad we took her advice! All their workers were also fabulous. We've been burned by contractors, but ATG is really one of a kind!

If this is passion I recommend focusing it on customer service. Post a pricing menu clearly with details like cost of product, packaging like the bag, delivery (by mileage), and provide written quotes.
