Terrible customer service, doors are always broken and locked.. the one that's not locked is so broken that it basically assaults you when you walk in the door. I reported this to a worker who gave me a bad attitude and said, "yes we are aware" I've been going to this location for a year, then get it fixed already! read more

Horrible Business - Horrible Leadership. Took a finished shirt back into the Windham store to ask that it be redone. It was still in the bag I got it home in.. tags still attached, when I brought it back to ask that it be redone. But the expressionless young zombie behind the counter said with a blank stare (In a very low monotone).. "You've had it back for over a month - there's nothing we can do." Wow.. seriously?? I'm in that store all the time.. they know I'm a regular.. and there should have been only ONE answer... "Yes, Sir we apologize for the trouble, we'll get it back to you by the end of the week". Nope... just the expressionless monotone of someone who has no clue what the word "Goodwill" means. And so .. I guess I'll go spend the manager's Christmas bonus at another cleaner. Stupid business model, folks. Not sure what your marketing budget is .. but you're about to get a lot of free advertising. read more

I realize the Forest Ave location is a plant. When a customer feels faint on a humid day with only one fan in the customer area? trying to reach Machesney to express. Profit is one thing but wouldn't you think customers and staff are a priority. Water coolers should be available to staff, any sort of hydration should be provided as a necessity. Shirt ironing and folding is of very low quality. Traveling on business, I had to iron the shirts again at my hotel. Worse, they lost one of my dress shirts ($350 retail price) and I'm still waiting for any offer of compensation. DO NOT give them anything of any value or quality to handle. read more

I spent $30 to have a wool sweater dry cleaned, they refused to use stickers to indicate where the spots were that needed to be treated. As I suspected, the spots were not all treated and when asked to do again they still didn't use stickers! And again it came back untreated!! Three trips, a phone message to the manager and still not corrected! A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, do not use this location! Becky Zolton is not managing customer satisfaction. read more

Usually we go to the Pratt in Westbrook, we like that one the best. I came to this one because I was doing laundry without my other half for once, and it was just more convenient for me so I could do some shopping at Shaw's while I waited. 5:30 on a Saturday, they close at 7PM, so I felt I was running behind. I was one of two in the building. Boy, was I wrong. When I came back to switch over my laundry, there was about 15 more people inside probably trying to get their laundry done last minute. I find this kind of rude to do, so I didn't feel bad at all for leaving 15 minutes before close because there was so many people still inside! I even had time to fold everything. This laundromat isn't the cleanest, and the staff wasn't friendly at all. But I got the job done. One other benefit to the Westbrook location-you can use a card to start the washers and dryers, rather than just quarters. They also have a bigger washers, which would have saved me some time with the blankets I brought. read more

It's clean, has a dry cleaners inside as well. They have about 4 different sizes of washers. The largest cost $5.75, I believe. The smallest is $2.50 but since there are not enough spaces to put quarters, you have to put $1.25 quarters in twice. Dryers: 2 sizes, but not much difference on the size. Smaller one is $0.25 for 7 minutes, while the larger one is $0.25 for 5 mins. Sink in the back is nice so I can wash out my detergent (liquid) cap. Plenty of wired baskets for when clothes are done. I usually avoid weekends, those tend to be busier times, but other than that, it's clean, affordable, and gets the job done! Plenty of parking outside since it's in a plaza. read more

I left my favorite jacket and blouse at Looking Good which is an agent for Pratt Abbott. It's a month later and my jacket seems to be lost, and my blouse was returned with more stains than when I left it. I am very upset. I have been using dry cleaners my whole life and this has never happened. The cheerful Mindy who is the customer service rep tried to say it was Looking Good's problem and Looking Good says it is Pratt Abbott's problem. They are both pointing their finger at the other. I don't know whose problem it is other than my own because I am out a jacket and who knows if they are actually going to clean my silk blouse? Do not recommend. read more

Pratt Abbott did a fabulous job cleaning the American flag from my dad's funeral. It was raining lightly that day and the flag had subsequently developed mold. Pratt Abbott got rid of all the mold spots and it can now be displayed proudly. They did this without any charge. Thank you so much! read more

Very unhappy. Ruined my husband's white suit and gave us the runaround for over a month to resolve the issue. Looking for another cleaner.

AVOID this place! Their machines DAMAGED my clothes! Something in either their washers or dryers TORE a favorite, STURDY cotton nightgown with a rip 3 inches long, and I had to throw it away. All of my towels ended up with many, many SNAGS, trailing threads 2-3 inches long, which I had to laboriously trim off, to make the towels presentable. I wrote a long letter (US mail) to the company, and received NO RESPONSE. They clearly are such a large business that they do not have to care about customers. Avoid them! read more

This has always been a fantastic dry cleaners. Dropped off my daughters wedding veil to be dry cleaned and preserved. We were told it would be in a clear preserved box inside a nice carry on tote. Went to pick it up and it is not in a nice tote as was described. The veil was in a plain white paper box with the inside box containing the actual veil. No paperwork with the garment and how do I know this is in an acid free box? Spoke to a bridal consultant who basically told me well that's right and that's what you get. I don't feel like I got what I paid for and would not recommend them for any bridal service. read more

I am unhappy with my most recent experience at the Pratt Abbott located at 1364 Congress St Portland Maine 04102. I came to drop off dry cleaning (7 pairs of pants), but was forced to wait at the empty counter while the store associate "Lee" was out front smoking with her friend. Ok when did laundry mats start charging more for hot water? .50 for hot v cold per washer? Pratt is a huge company. Really chintzy policy. I'd like to favor the locals but there aren't many out side of downtown. I continue to feel ripped off at their locations. Could someone please open a few more local, clean and fair laundromats? read more

I have had shirts laundered all my life and usually have had good experiences but this one was not good. I brought in a shirt I wore once and it came back with spots that looked like coffee. I don't even drink coffee. On my first and only trip in I observed a customer being told they could take another try on his shirt with stains but he'd have to pay. My guess is they run them through the cycle press them then disclaim the spots. Good cleaners spot spray before they wash and if need be after as well. Why wouldn't they keep trying instead they press it under heat and cook the stains right in. My shirt is a white cotton shirt they could even bleach it but no they'd rather give it to me with stains how do I wear that to work?? read more
