I dropped off a mother of the groom dress and a bridesmaid dress to be pressed. It cost me $127 to have these 2 dresses pressed and it took 4 days to complete. I was shocked. The dresses didn't even cost that much. I dropped off a Men's suit to be pressed at Pratt Abbott. It was done in 3 days for $15. I will never go back to Oak Hill Cleaners again. read more

I'm not sure how to properly execute this review, but here it goes: I've never actually been to Oak Hill Dry Cleaners. But, but, but.. I have seen the wonderful things they do. I'm writing this because they have spent the last 2 months providing their services to help dry clean items that have been donated to Maine Needs (if you're not familiar, give it a Google!) and they're doing it at no cost!! What a kind and considerate thing to do, especially given (what I can only imagine) is a super tough time for a business that caters to the business/professional + formal event crowd, and let's face it: 2020 has cancelled most formal events and has LOTS of dress clothes hanging in closets untouched while people work from the comfort of their couch. I will definitely support them when the time comes that I need to dry clean something again! This act speaks volumes about Oak Hill Dry Cleaners and the kind of people they are. read more

I run a new nonprofit called Maine Needs, we help make sure donated items get to people who need them most at no cost. Toby and Travis contacted us in early October and asked if they don't help us by dry cleaning winter coats and warm blankets. We were all blown away. Not only have they been cleaning these items, they come once a week with a FULL van load of coats and comforters that they are accepting on location and DELIVER them to us and pick up anything we have that is dirty and in need of washing. It's been about 6 weeks of this generosity and they are keeping it going. We are beyond grateful and would like to say thank you on behalf of the hundreds of people they are keeping warm this Winter. In a last minute scramble before my own marriage, I came to Oak Hill in hopes to have two men's dress shirts cleaned and pressed, and one simple wedding dress to be rid of all wrinkles. Recommended to me by an associate at Joseph's of Portland, I hoped they could squeeze me in. When I explained a bit about my situation and stated when I needed the garments to be completed by, I was given a look by the owners that silently said "that's a tight window, but we can get it done." And get it done they did. I can only speak to the work done on the two dress shirts (because I refrained from peeking at the wedding dress before the "big day")- Oak Hill met my expectations with their quality of work and exceeded expectations with customer service. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a quality dry clean/steam/press/starch and beyond. I live about 15 minutes away and I'm happy to make the drive past other similar businesses to drop my garments off with Oak Hill. read more

My wife and have been using Oak Hill Dry Cleaners for the last three years since moving into Scarborough and this business is an class act as the staff are always super friendly and greet to with a smile and are super helpful. The owner Travis is an awesome guy who is in the store most of the time and always stops what he is doing to say hello and to see if everything is going well. A last minute black tie event in NYC and I needed a dress dry cleaned over the weekend. This is the only place I called (and I called just about every cleaner between Portsmouth NH and Wesbrook, ME) that even does the cleaning at the location and doesn't send it out. No one else I called does any dry cleaning on the weekend. Due to timing and the distance I needed to drive to get the dress there, I couldn't just wait and pick it up the same day- I only made it to Oak Hill Dry Cleaners about 45 minutes before they closed on a Saturday. The person in charge came out to talk to me and we coordinated pick up for Sunday even though they are not officially open on Sunday. He called me and gave me a window to come by and get my dress. Pick up was fast and without a hitch and my dress looks beautiful- what a difference after hanging in the closet for a long time! I am not a regular dry-cleaning customer or anything, but I also thought the price was very reasonable. This dry cleaners is right by Ace Hardware and the post office in Scarborough. It is the first place that popped up when I did a search for a dry cleaners. The people were nice, but I am NEVER going back again, even if I have to drive farther for a dry cleaners. My clothes smell like an old smoky hotel room and there is a pull on my fine knitted sweater now. I am very disappointed. Never have I experience a dry cleaners that made my clothes smell like this. :( And it was on the expensive side too! read more

Never Again! When they say no guarantees, it's true. When I got my slipcovers back it's like they weren't even touched. Knowing I could not use them with those stains, I attempted to clean them myself and got 98% of the stains off myself. Having paid lots of $ for the cleaning, I requested some sort of refund. The woman up front was very kind, but they lost a button on the blazer I brought in, and I was then forced to search for and buy a replacement that doesn't quite match the others. The worst of it is that I had to pay for the blazer they damaged. So I essentially paid for my blazer to be in worse condition than before I brought it in.
