Does not shy away from speaking in tongues and ministering the gifts of the spirit. Lovely church. I recommend. The people are friendly and gracious. My family normally attend FBCWoodstock, but we needed to be in Douglasville last Sunday morning…read more The church is very friendly (opened car doors and held umbrellas while my family unloaded at the front door, picked me up in a golf cart and drove me to the front door, bulletin/door holders to sanctuary, time in service to greet others, and even a rose on the way out for mothers. All those in service positions seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. The music was great and very worshipful (not watching a performance). Great choir and many talented players and singers. The pastor was very thoughtful in every detail of the service. He seems very mature for his seemingly younger age. He had clear, illustrated exposition of 11 verses. My kids (14, 14, 16, 18, 18) said they really enjoyed the preaching and came away with a lot. If I lived near here, I would for sure go here.

The church is large, so you must join a small group to be connected and not feel lost or alone. The members are loving and welcoming but you also need to be proactive for the relationships you want. The church has many ministries, classes and even financial and business development centers. Parking is abundant. I do think there is room for improvement in the "follow up" of new members or and after counseling. My husband and I were married here last May, and did take the counseling but have not heard anything from anyone since. This is disappointing knowing the difficulties newly weds may have. I expected a check-in at-least from our pre-martial counselor. This could be from the lack of time, staff or volunteers. I see a need and will ask if I can assist in this area.

That's kind of hard to do since the church had kicked the bishop out for having an affair with another church member. He went and rented a church so he could continue to preach. He even has a church located in a school that promotes soccer but doesn't tell them it's a church sponsored soccer team. Parents were upset to find themselves in church property having a game. They don't practice what they preach and they use gimmicks to try to pull people in. One day they rented the car from Back to the Future which is not cheap. This is where the tithing of church money goes. Not to help the community. They say love acceptance and forgiveness but they kicked my son out for trying to make them see the wrong they were doing in having and taking money from people at the school to have a soccer team. Deceiving all parents many who do not believe in God. Very deceptive church.
