That alone told me everything I needed to know about how he operates. The scope of work was substantial. He pressure washed the entire exterior, sanded and painted, repaired a window with broken trim, and patched concrete under the porch. The before and after photos say the rest. The transformation is genuinely dramatic. A few things stood out beyond the work itself. Julio refused any kind of prepayment and told me I could pay when the job was done. He was on site the day he said he'd be there, and the day after. The final bill matched the estimate exactly. Unfortunately I hired another contractor first that struggled with removing the wallpaper despite agreeing to the job, and I was relieved that Ramirez Brothers were able to come through for me. They were very hard workers, respectful with laying down paper all throughout the house including areas they were not painting in (but walking through) to protect the rest of the home. We ended up hiring them more jobs including painting several rooms and ceilings, as well as a full kitchen cabinet painting job afterwards. Their work is fantastic and everything looks great. We will be definitely going to them for future painting jobs.

During a temper tantrum - something we endured from Reese all too often - he explained that whoever painted the trim on our historic home two or three owners ago had not done an especially good job. Therefore, he argued, we shouldn't expect an especially good job from his company either. (His was the second highest of four bids we received.) Problems arose from the beginning. Work was set to start on a Tuesday with pressure washing, but rain was forecast, so Reese phoned to postpone until the next day. On Wednesday, Reese called again with the same message even though rain was not forecast, and the day was clear. He said a crew would arrive on Friday. Workers showed up on Friday and began painting. We pointed out that pressure washing had not been done. The painters had to do the pressure washing and lost a day of painting because the process left surfaces wet. When work resumed the following Tuesday, two painters conducted obscenity laced conversation so loudly that our neighbor, the city manager's wife, complained. One of the two was removed from our project. The other spent hours talking loudly on a cell phone for the three-week duration. Other problems on our project included: n Caulking done carelessly and without a smoothing tool. n Screens removed without tags to show which screen went on which window. As a result, several screens could not be reinstalled. n Screens tossed about in such a way as to puncture at least two. n Brush-cleaning water poured into shrubbery, resulting in death of a lovely flowering bush. n Cigarette butts scattered about the job site after workers left. n An outdoor light dismantled and never correctly reassembled. Eventually, Reese pulled his crew off our project even though work was not complete. He explained that he was running behind on other projects and had no time to finish ours. We told him that we would not pay the final invoice until excess paint was removed from window glass and one surface already scraped bare was painted. Reluctantly, he sent a couple of men back to our home to finish the work. We paid the balance due, but we would recommend against hiring LVX for any painting project.

The work was done in November. Now I am dealing with a huge mess in the yard and spending more money to get that fixed and on top of that, I see where they cracked the foundation/footer on the outside. Working with them was a mess. There does not seem to be a central person to answer questions. The garage never really got leveled but at least it's not supposed to sink anymore and is stable. It's supposed to be guaranteed but who knows? Don't be fooled by the ads. They make everything look nice in the ads but I still have a giant crack that's now filled with foam. I mean, it's a detached garage, but still...Do some looking around and NEVER let anyone high pressure you. Lesson learned.
