C'mon, how difficult can it be? So we do the demo and find old damage to the framing of the shower and dry rot. Okay I agree we need to call in the professionals. We found Premier through the Diamond Certified booklet and gave Richard a call. When I explained what we wanted Richard said could take on the job immediately and he would provide an estimate. I thought the estimate he came back with was high since we had already done all of the demo. Including getting the beast of a tub out. All I wanted was a frame-less shower, tiled walls, floor, and paint. How can that cost so much? But we needed the bathroom done and they could begin immediately. More about that later. Richard promised the job would be done in two weeks which made us happy since we only had one to use and even with only two people it is tough. Richard came by every morning during the project to check on the progress. Federico and Angel were friendly and arrived early each morning and worked late into the day. They were even 'cheerful' while they worked laughing and chatting with each other. No grumpiness here. At the end of each day I took pics and was very impressed with the progress and how it was all coming together just like I imagined. About the finished bathroom. We really could not be happier. The tile work in the shower is impeccable. They tested the water tightness overnight before beginning to even lay down the shower floor. The floor is sloped so the water will drain properly and not puddle. They added a light/fan combination that wasn't there before and moved electrical outlets to accommodate fixtures. I felt really bad for Federico because he had to go into our attic on a very hot day to hook up the exhaust fan which we did not have before. They even had to shave off the bottom of the original door since the tile floor was higher than the old vinyl floor. My only caution to anyone who uses Premier is to get the shower door factored in early in the project. Like day one. It affects everything including tile and paint. Premier does not do the shower doors which requires getting a bid and conversation from a different contractor. We would have definitely made a few different decisions if we'd talked to the glass guy upfront. Getting back to the cost. We did have to pay for the tile and other materials. I will say that based on the level of effort, the quality of the work, and the finished product, that both my husband and I felt like Richard had underbid this project and we ended up with a product that could/should have cost quite a bit more. Am I complaining? No, we just felt like we were committing a crime. We now have a 'showroom' quality bathroom for the cost of a standard bathroom that will last for the life of the home. All on time and on budget! Thank you Federico, Angel, and Richard! I'll be calling for the other bathroom but please underbid that too! =0)

The project included removing a load-bearing wall on the top floor, which required support work to occur on the two floors below, and foundation work at the ground level, and a complete remodel of the kitchen, bath, laundry room, and the addition of a new half bathroom. Peter and his crew were fantastic. They started the job on the promised date, and they made steady progress every day, finishing the project basically on schedule. Communication was good and his crew was friendly and respectful and always cleaned up at the end of the day. A project like this is very disruptive, but all of the SkyTrust folks did everything they could to minimize the impact and allow me to continue to use a couple parts of my home where construction wasn't occurring. When we ran into unexpected issues -- no big ones, thankfully -- Peter was fair and transparent and we worked them out without conflict. Peter is honest, hard-working and reasonable. The quality of the work was excellent, and as a result, we had no problems with any of the city inspections. After Tom and I met and spoke we shook hands and he reacted to my handshake. I told him that handshake means "do not mess with me." He saw I have lots of books and he mentioned to me a book called "the bronze horseman." It said on amazon this book is for Russia what the thorn birds was for Australia so I bought it. Tom came the next day and said he bought the book for me. He wanted a check. I stalled. He said: I will be back in couple hours to pick up the check and get the book. He came back, got his check but I got no book. I said nothing. Tuesday before the 4th he showed me again the order of the book on amazon and the order had gone to an address down by LA and he is driving down to LA over the 4th and pick it up. Sunday evening after the 4th he called and said: "my father is coming to visit from Israel and flying in to LA he will pick up the book," and will I do a review he will send me the link. Well it is another week gone by and no book and no word from Tom. Like I said: I already bought the book. I do not need Tom to buy my books just honest middle man, a true professional who knows what he says and keeps his word and that is not Tom. A businessman who does not listen to his client is a poor businessman. Why Tom Why? I do not need you to buy me books. A man at 40 should have build up some equity in his character, man-up Tom!

They never made us feel like we were left to drift on our own. I've included some pictures below. Both before and after. The lighting of the professional after photos has strangely turned the floors brown in the photos but Watermark installed new hickory colored floors throughout our entire house, so they're much more gray than they appear here.. So the brown is a bit misleading in the photos. We seriously cannot recommenced this firm highly enough.

While Moises' estimate may not have been the lowest or highest of the ones I found, I got the most confidence from Moises and his team to be able to execute the project competently in the manner I needed. In contrast, competitors (some also with 5 star reviews on Yelp, others referred by acquaintances) were trying to force me into their own personal plan of the project, which quite predictably involved much more than I was asking to be done or needed - along with significantly higher risk, cost, and time for me, while of course making _them_ more money. This aspect is a typical problem with Bay Area contractors, in how they try to take advantage of their customers, so one always has to use their BS-meter. Moises stood out with his integrity, straightforwardness and customer-focus. The job was very well executed by Moises/team with great attention to detail, including guiding me to selecting quality material. Moises also personally supervised the progress of the project and the quality of the work being done.
