I noticed that my garage door opener was struggling a bit more than it should to open my garage door so I called Precision Door service, who had done some work on my door before. They told me for a $60 service call. They could come out and evaluate the door and lube it and advise if there was anything that needed to be done. I made an appointment for the next week and the technician showed up promptly. He did call and text to let me know he was coming too. He did an inspection of the door and found that the cable on the right side was rusted almost all the way through and pretty close to breaking. Also, there was only one spring to open the door so it didn't lift up easily or stay up. He recommended putting two springs in Which is pretty much the standard. He gave me four different proposals, each one adding on a little bit more service. I chose the third of four proposals. It included putting in new cables, two new springs, all new rollers and bearings on the sides, and lubing it completely. When he took out the one cable that was rusted, he remarked that it was probably one to two months away from breaking. So I'm glad I called them. Also, our door had rust on the bottom on the outside, which was very visible. Probably one to 2 inches all the way across the door. He advised that I should wire brush it down some, and spray paint it with white Rustoleum paint. It now looks almost brand new And operates like it's brand new too. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, buyer beware. I had a new Liftmaster garage system put in and nine months later, the garage wall unit stopped working and it was still under warranty. The installer was great and I have no concerns about him. My concern lies with their customer service. Here is the catch, they want to charge a service call to replace a part that is under warranty, that Precision sold me and installed. Most legitimate companies would replace the item at no cost and no service fee. I spoke with Ron the owner and he said because of gas, time blah blah, they have to charge a service fee. Not my issue Ron, maybe sell a product that last longer than nine months. I strongly suggest using a different garage door company that offers better customer service. I will never recommend or use Precision Garage door in the future. read more

Best garage door company one could ask for! I called on a Saturday as our garage door would open but wouldn't close. They sent out a technician on a SUNDAY WITHOUT emergency fees as they do appointments on Sundays. The owner, Ron, came out, assessed the problem, showed us how to fix it in the future and also gave us a quote for a future garage door, which we will need in the next couple of years anyway. Service, professionalism, cost - you could not ask for anything better. I need a new garage door opener, because the old one quite working. Precision came out and looked at my opener and door. We found several more issues with the spring s and cables as well. The original hardware was installed in the '70's, so yes it needed replaced. Felix got right to work and replaced rollers, door cables and tension springs, and installed a new opener. He went over all the repairs that were made, help set the door code, and made sure everything was working correctly before departing. He was very professional and courteous, and worked very efficiently. After competition he made sure he left no mess behind. I highly recommend this company for garage repairs. read more

We had no problem with the actual installation of our new garage door opener. However, when I went to use it the next day, I found the light did not work, probably because the installer did NOT put a bulb in the opener. We both are elderly and neither of us should go up on a ladder and work overhead. I called Precision and they were very willing to schedule someone to come and do it. HOWEVER, they wanted to charge us $60 for a service call to put in a bulb. Couldn't ask for better service! Before the technicians showed up we got a text with a picture and a short bio about him so we would know who was coming. The technicians were on time (Z and Josh) and were courteous, professional, and fast. This job was complicated and they took all that in stride and did a great job in the time frame they quoted. They didn't try to sell me anything and no surprises. They told me in the beginning what I owed (which didn't change from our quote) and at the end, the price was the same. However, there are supply issues and they are busy. They did arrive as originally scheduled and work was completed in three hours. Called for service Monday, was able to get scheduled a week later for Monday, service man Ron was on time, helpful, did the work quickly and took all the old equipment away. The cable came off one of the spools at the side of my door. Ron's company answered the phone first so I had him come out. First thing he wants to know is when it was "serviced" last. Then he claims the problem is the new opener I installed less than a year ago. I make it clear I'm not replacing the door opener. Ron says the first thing he has to do is replace all the rollers. What?! Net net, he wanted to charge me $190 to "fix it" but wouldn't guarantee it would work even once. I smelled a scam and Ron left. I really think Ron is just looking for people he can pressure into a major purchase. A few days later Guy from Felluca came by. Absolutely the worst service ever! We had them install a door/motor less than a year ago. Door never worked properly. We had them come out to check it 3 times. The service men kept saying that there was no problem and maybe we didn't understand how to operate a garage door. At the third visit, they realized that they had actually installed the motor incorrectly all along! Then, less than 6 months later, door malfunctioned again. We made an appointment and waited over a week for repairman. He showed up over an hour late. He looked at the door and said "Broken spring. I thought I was here for an estimate. Guess our secretary made a mistake. I'm too busy for this." He was, in fact, Ron, the owner of the company. While he admitted it was his company's mistake. He said "Too bad. I don't give a shit about your door. We have plenty of customers that will pay more money for installations than your cheap repair." And he left..... He was rude and unprofessional to say the least. Let me start by saying I have used them twice before and had nothing but great things to say. Sadly all that doesn't even matter after how I was treated today by someone at this specific location. The customer service based in Florida was fantastic but todays experience made me not even want their services anymore since this is the only Rochester location I was told. I called to see where I could buy a Garage door remote. The woman on the phone said I could stop by a location and grab one. So that's what I did. When I got there, there were 2 dogs sitting by the door and on the window was an "open" sign. I stepped in and immediately the dogs ran and jumped on my son who is 5 and kept jumping all over him until I whistled. Mind you the girl there not once called her dogs off. Then she says to me in a very rude tone "uh can I help you?" ..I tell her I'm looking to get a garage remote and she states.."we don't even sell those here, we're just a service place." I say ok well they told me I could pick one up here. "They who?" ..the company..."welll we don't sell them so what do you want again?" ..A remote.."welll we don't have them sooo" . Ok well is there a place you could suggest to pick one up at?. "I don't know, google it and buy it online". At that point I walked out in which she immediately locked the door and changed the sign to close even though they are open until 5pm. I called the company and they were very sorry and shocked I was treated that way. Turns out it was the owners sister..sister or not customer service is just logical thinking to me. She had none. Sad really. They said the owner Ron would call to talk about the incident...lets just say I wont hold my breath. On top of that my son had a sever allergic reaction to her dogs or their saliva i'm not quite sure but it was severe enough that at his dentist appt which was right after they questioned if he needed an epi pen. My spring in my garage door broke and they advertise 24 hour emergency repair - however when I called I was told the the first emergency repair would be tomorrow night at 7pm and then they want an extra $ for that service. Our garage door stopped working so we originally called the company who was the last to service it (not Precision, but a well-known competitor). After explaining at length to the woman who answered the phone there, all she did was put me on hold and then I had to explain all over again to a man who seemed to be the manager or owner. He wanted to know the make and model of our opener (do most people know that?) and then told me I had to call in the morning no later than 8:30 to see if and when they could service me the next day or in two days. My husband is quite ill, so mornings are not good for us, but rather than set our alarm to get up early, I took a morning appt a few days afterward because we needed the door fixed and I'd have something solid. But after thinking about the way I was treated, I decided to do more calling around. The next place I called had you leave a message (not good for us right now). Then I tried Precision. A real live person answered the phone, and I got no-hassle service and the door repaired at a time convenient for us the very next day. Dave Mackay, the technician, was personable, professional, efficient, a good communicator, and we felt we could trust him. The door now works better than it ever has since we originally built this house in 1987 and rebuilt it in 2009 after a fire. What is interesting to me is the other review here which gives Precision only 1 star. That was because whoever was working that day delivered poor customer service in person. The reason the first company I called lost my business was due to poor customer service on the phone. I wish more company owners would realize that many of us care less about cost than about being treated with dignity and respect and as though our time is important, too. It takes many years to build a company's reputation, and only one poor interaction to damage it. Take care who represents you to the public. In the days of the internet, you can't afford to lose even one customer, because they can, with the flick of a wrist, tell thousands of others.
