After purchasing lights for our home, we were unhappy with how they looked and immediately reached out to our salesperson, Renata. The receipt clearly states that opened items can be returned with a 30% restocking fee. I told Renata I was fine with paying that fee, but she refused to process the return. On top of these issues, one of the lights we received arrived damaged. When I reached out to Renata to report this, her response was: "unfortunately the company prioritizes new orders coming in and your damaged order could take weeks to replace." When I explained my frustration that a broken item was not being treated as a priority and is a NEW order, she replied: "what's the rush to have this replaced so soon?" It's broken and I paid for it. This is a shocking way to treat a customer--minimizing the problem and dismissing the need for timely resolution. It's another clear example of the lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction at this company. At the same time, we had a separate order for ceiling fans. Given how poorly the lights situation was handled, we decided to cancel the fans before they shipped. Once again, Renata told us cancellation was not possible. When I escalated the matter to the manager, Anthony, he was unaware of the initial issue with the lights and did not offer any solution for that situation or the ceiling fans order. Instead, he told us we would need to pay $200 shipping to his store in order to avoid being charged the full amount for the fans--fans we never received. We later found the exact same fans at Lowe's for a much lower price. This company's approach to returns and cancellations feels misleading and unprofessional. They do not honor the policies stated on their own receipts, and communication between staff and management is poor. I strongly recommend thinking twice before making a large purchase here, as they are unwilling to work with customers on reasonable solutions.

In June, we hired them again to upgrade our electrical panel and replace seven light fixtures. For both projects, the team was punctual, professional, and respectful of our home. They consistently cleaned up after themselves, listened to our needs, and took the time to understand how we use our home so they could make thoughtful recommendations rather than simply completing the requested work. One thing I especially appreciated was Lucas's positive attitude and approachable communication style. As a homeowner without an electrical background, I never felt talked down to or dismissed. He took the time to answer questions and explain things clearly. When we purchased our home, we also worked with another electrical company during the inspection process. While they seemed knowledgeable, the technician who came out felt rushed, was difficult to engage with, and was unwilling to discuss some of the concerns we had identified. Lucas and Eli at Rooster Electric provided the exact opposite experience. Lucas genuinely seems to enjoy his work and helping people. Lucas and his apprentice came to install an outlet for an EV charger. The quote he gave me for the job was much more thorough (and affordable) than any of the other companies I reached out to. He also was proactive about making sure I would qualify for the EV charger rebate through SMUD. When he got here, he instantly noticed there was an issue with our outdoor panel that needed emergency repairs. 4 hours later my main breaker was fixed and operating like normal, I had my EV charger outlet, and he charged me a more than fair price for even the emergency work. So long as Lucas is available, I don't think I'll ever call another electrician.
