Had to get copies of keys made for my in-laws. One set was for older security deadbolt that they had no issue in taking care of it. They can even stamp keys with lettering to help identify for specific doors/locks. Will definitely go there again. read more

These guys are amazing! I go out of my way to go here because they can solve all of my lock and security issues. I had two valuable vintage handbags from my aunt's estate that were locked. I brought them in because I wanted to see what she had in them for 50 years but I didn't want to damage the bags. They did not even flinch and accepted the challenge. 20 minutes later and after several tweaks, they made a custom key to open these bags. I was blown away. Visited here for making copies of keys. The service was really quick, but two out of six copies turned out to be not working. So, I visited here again, and they re-made keys for free! However, one of two new keys wasnt working (again...) and stuck in lock. Fortunately, I was able to pull the key out of lock. No matter how hard I tried, that key did not work. Based on my unfortunate experiences, I would not recommend this place for making copies of your keys. read more

Excellent safe removal service. We also had another large item and from our description on the phone he could not guarantee he could do it but would take a look. When he arrived knowing exactly what he was looking for, he measured twice, three times and decided he could do it, which he proceeded to do, cleanly and efficiently. It's great to deal with people who don't promise the moon but do know what they're doing and do it well. Very helpful! My husband came back from a business trip with the key broken off in his suitcase padlock. I wheeled the bag into their shop and with one quick snap of the bolt cutters the lock was off. Was so grateful! This job was for my mom, so I did the initial phone call and communicated through emails afterwards. They are reasonably priced and are reliable. I WAS a bit nervous because he never responded with a "confirmed" in the final email with the addresses (Corporate America turned me into a stickler for that). Highly recommend. I was locked out of my apartment and had called a few places, but some of the people at other lock companies sounded sketchy as hell. I had also recently watched a 20/20 about locksmiths taking advantage of customers and completely destroying your lock so you have to spend several hundred dollars buying a new one from them. Dov Israeli came, and immediately I knew I could trust him. He got me in within minutes WITHOUT ruining my lock or door. I think he charged $100-150 (can't remember now, it was awhile ago), which I was happy to pay. Other places are comparable, and like I said, can be sketchy. Although I see mostly positive reviews & even though most are related to fixing a lock on a suitcase, safe or making keys, we did NOT have a wonderful experience. My brother contacted them to install a new top & bottom lock set a few months ago on my 85 year old mothers house. When the technician showed up he talked my brother (who knows nothing about this stuff) into installing a deadbolt lock that was different than the one we already had there with a LESS protected style (pics to follow). Also he did NOT changed the worn out painted hardware on the door frame (pic to follow). When I called & spoke with Dov, (the manager) he was completely un-apologetic & could not offer up any answers as to why they installed an inferior style deadbolt which looking at the picture you can see all someone has to do is break the window & turn the knob on the deadbolt & handle lock & get in or any of our other concerns. Not to mention it cost $266 for a senior & the same exact lock at Home Depot is under $50. All we wanted was for someone to change the deadbolt to make it safe & they wanted to charge us $75 more for a new deadbolt. SCARY! read more

On May 21, 2013 I contracted with Precision Lock & Safe, Inc (240 Jericho Turnpike, Floral Park, New York; 1-866-513-8121; Dov & Eland Israeli, proprietors; http://precisionlockandsafe.net//), to perform a restoration of a Stickley Safecraft Smoker's safe (the safe is a Herring-Hall-Marvin model). The restoration included removal of insulation in the door, full restoration of lock and bolt work, door insulation replacement, Dial and dial ring plating, interior woodwork restoration, and exterior painting and pin striping. I was verbally told this project would take a "few months." Precision Lock & Safe, Inc has now had the safe for nearly 2 years. I live in Manassas, VA and after 7 months I became concerned and visited Precision Lock & Safe, Inc. to see what progress had been made on my safe. From this inspection, I could see that some preliminary break down work had been done, but very little restoration work had been completed. Since, in my opinion, we were well past the "couple months" delivery date promised, I requested Dov provided me a timeline for the project (I gave him full discretion to set dates he could achieve), and asked him to provide me pictures, via email, of the project's progress. He agreed to provide this information to me. In the 16 months since Dov agreed to provide a project plan and status updates, virtually none has been provided unless I prompted him. When we did speak, or exchange emails, I got explanations of incompetent sub-contractors and reasons why the restoration completion would be further delayed. In June 2014, I became frustrated with what I perceived to be an insignificant amount of progress, a lack of good faith progress reports, and the absence of a plan to proceed with completing the project. I communicated my unhappiness to Dov, and indicated I wanted the safe complete by Aug 2014 --approximately 16 months after he took possession of it. This conversation resulted in the same excuses and an inability to tell me when the project would be completed. Following this conversation, Dov's lawyer, Elena Razis (Razis & Ross, PC; Astoria, NY, 718-932-7500) contacted me. Ms. Razias listened to my perception of what had transpired to date, and agreed I was not being unreasonable. She agreed to act as an intermediary between me and Dov, and indicated she would encourage him to provide me target dates for the phases of the project, project updates, and images of progress. While Ms. Razis had carried out her intermediary role as promised, since her involvement the voluntary information flow from Precision Lock & Safe has been identical to before her involvement --virtually non-existent unless I prompted Dov for an update. This review was written on April 27, 2015. It has been over 2 months since I last heard from Precision Lock & Safe, Inc, and nearly 2 years since they began restoring my safe. I currently have no physical proof to indicate my safe restoration will be completed in the near future. I recently used Precision Lock and Safe to move my safe from Long Island to a building in Manhattan. I called several different places and compared both prices and customer service. In the end, I decided to use Precision Lock and Safe. They had the best price and the best service. I have dealt with moving safes in the past and it was a huge production. With Precision Lock and Safe, they showed up, loaded the safe, drove it to the next location and unloaded it with no problem. The last company I used took twice the time and they only had to move the safe from a location in Manhattan to another location in Manhattan. I went to Precision Lock and Safe for a safe for my home. Dov was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. A few days later, Elaad and Moses installed a very heavy safe and they took precaution not to damage anything. They were friendly and professional. A week later, I had Moses install an extra dead bolt in my front door and he took his time again, making sure to not damage anything in my older home. He cleaned up and was very courteous.
