I know nothing about computers and they let me know it's much faster and easier with 16GB RAM. They gave me a very reasonable time frame of a few weeks to update or repair it and a very reasonable rate. They also gave me the option to buy a used recently refurbished laptop that day. I needed the functional computer right away for work so I bought the used laptop and figured I'd get back to the repairs needed on my Lenovo when I could afford the extra time and money. I thought they were awesome and recommended a few people there when it would come up in conversation. ...Embarrassingly for me however, the laptop they sold me had a screen that flickered like crazy. You had to open it at just the right angle and if it wiggled the screen would just go black. I couldn't return it to them unfortunately, no time and no money. It flickered since day 1 and there's no way they didn't know it still did that after they had "fixed it", he started it up at the counter before he sold it to me. The computer was facing him and I have too much trust. -- I just learned that there were likely compounding factors that were why my original Lenovo wasn't working. Because it's very normal for a standard, nongaming laptop to have 8GB of RAM and it didn't take everyone else 4 hours to type a single page of word document. It's been a few years now and my partner who is in tech just told me this. I wasted that critical money and critical time on a piece of equipment that was so dysfunctional that it actually set me back in my search for a new job. In fact I actually had more work now to do to make up for my mistake. Turns out I guess this was just another experience of being fed BS. When you walk in to Microseconds, make sure you're not actually relying on whatever laptop you get from them unless you know your stuff, have the time and resources to go back and fix problems, and are comfortable asking for a full walkthrough so you can make sure your new/used computer is working properly. This girl was too desparate for an option and got taken advantage of. This girl did get poorer service these other reviews I'm seeing. Of course I'm disappointed in myself but honestly you also need to shape it up fellas, you're behavior is disappointing. I hope things have changed there since then.

New, it is listing for $2000 on Amazon. It had a small SSD, and an Optane 16gb NVMe PCIe M.2 Drive. I removed the SSD that was in it and replaced it with a 500gb PNY SSD. I downloaded the Optane Management software, and used it to deactivate the Optane feature, basically converting the M.2 slot into a usable NVMe PCIe M.2 Hard Drive slot which I used for a secondary drive internally. It has 2 USB "C" high speed ports, and 3 Gen 1 USB 3.1 ports. The really nice thing is that it has HDMI "IN" & HDMI "OUT". By using the buttons on the right side of the monitor, I can use the HDMI "IN" port for my laptop's second screen, and the computer does not even have to be powered on to do this, just use the middle button on the right side to use this machine just as a monitor. I also upgraded the BIOS, and can now use 32GB of 2666mhz DDR4 ram from my old gaming laptop. I also use a stylus to work directly on the touch screen to do my digital art and photo manipulations in GIMP and Inkscape. The sound bar built into the front of this machine has very good quality sound.

After a forced overnight Microsoft update that may have gotten stuck, my battery was completely run down. Not sure why, since power adapter worked. For some reason, my laptop powered up 'at the shop' rather than my home, but once restart was accomplished there, and battery was sufficiently recharged to take home, everything was all better. (My power adapter checked out fine.) I supposed I could have figured it out eventually (jiggled plugs, etc), but the 'it works now at the shop' seems to be what was needed. The in-shop review of computer health was useful. Rate charged was reasonable, as was free advice on what to buy next and where.
