Here is a very mixed review: I picked up my cpap machine last week, when I used it, it made a really high whining sound. Stopped in Tuesday at 8:00 am to get it replaced. I was ignored for 1 1/2 hours completely. There were no other appointments. I know, because I was in the waiting room and no one came in at all. Then, at 9:45 the rep came out, listened to the problem, and fixed it in 3 minutes. Thank you Kelly. Thank you Brandy. A very poorly managed business. My order for a replacement Bipap was put in over a month ago. You cannot get through to the cpap people and when I was able to talk to one of them, they kept disconnecting the call. Told me twice that they hit the wrong button on their phones when they would try to put me on hold to look up my information. You call this location and it takes an hour to actually talk to someone. They call back but my phone never rings but goes straight into voicemail message with no actual audio message. What trick is this??? We had a wheelchair supplied to us for my mother in law and when it was no longer required it's taken over two months, for them to pick it up... and it still has not been done. We were called and emailed with firm pick up times and dates, twice and they were a no show each time. No calls or explanation. We've had to call them and wait on hold for a half hour or more several times to try to get this resolved. No luck so far. This business deserves to fail! No concern for customers. read more

No one answers calls. Through multiple prompts I get to the right place and my calls are disconnected without anyone picking up. I call main number in Phoenix and the guy who answers the phone tries to connect me for 15 minutes and cannot do so. Perfect example of a monopolistic dealing with customers who are mandated by Medicare to use them. I sch an apptmt for Monday. Jaylee INSISTED I was WRONG and that I sch it for Thursday which I NEVER would hv done bc I work EVERY Thursday. I had to give a star to review. This company should no longer be in business with the office staff in their employ. Called for a status update a week ago and was told the order was in processing, that they would be calling the first of the week. That didn't happen. I am still without my CPAP, and I started securing a replacement in September. I am not sure the office staff realizes that the patient and their insurance pay the bills that pay their salary. Perhaps they were not trained properly in customer service. Regardless, making patients wait for medical equipment and supplies vital to their well-being is not only unprofessional but also indicative of how little care they have for their patients. read more

I was a CPAP customer of Preferred/Lincare for six years, and my experience trying to replace my aging and under performing CPAP machine was extremely disappointing. My doctor sent an order for a new machine in late November 2025, and what followed was 14 weeks of delays, conflicting information, unreturned phone calls, and rigid documentation requirements that could have been satisfied by other means per Medicare. The process got so frustrating that I contacted the Lincare patient advocate and received a case number. Even though I followed up every week for four weeks, the answer was that my issue would be reviewed, and I would get a call back within one or two business days. However, they never called back at all. After 14 weeks of total frustration, I sent copies of the same documentation provided to Preferred to an alternate supplier and I had a new machine six days later. We have been desperately trying to get Preferred Homecare to help arrange liquid oxygen for us to go down to Phoenix Arizona so my husband can do testing to get a double lung transplant. I let them know a month ago that we were going to Arizona but didn't know when. I gave them the dates as soon as I had them which was 2.5 weeks ago. I have been calling now every other day saying that Chris Madero and Don were working on it. Today I requested that Chris or Don call me back to give me some sort of status - we need to pick this up on Tuesday, Feb 3 2026. I was told I would receive a call when they got in at 10am. I agree with everyone else that this company is horrible. My wife had a stroke two months ago and was being treated at a skilled nursing facility. Once insurance would not cover anymore treatment at the SNF I moved her to a group home. The SNF ordered required equipment through Preferred Homecare for delivery to the group home. I was not available when the air mattress was delivered. The delivery person left a card with the phone number to reschedule the delivery. When I called the number on the card, they had no record of the order or the delivery. A high back reclining wheel chair was also ordered. A standard wheel chair was delivered. I refused the standard chair and contacted the SNF to reorder the reclining chair. Five days later, I'm still waiting for the chair. Each time I call Preferred, I get directed to a different person. Apparently, there is a different department for each type of equipment, there is no central department to handle orders for multiple pieces of equipment. That place is completely disorganized and incompetent. read more

My doctor uses Preferred Homecare for CPAP machines. I received a call from them saying my equipment was in as I am a first time patient. I called them back on my day off and I had a 25 minute wait on hold. When I spoke to someone I was transferred to another person and was then told there was no one available that could help me. They said they had 2 business days not counting today to call me back? The problem is that i work 3 days a week and cannot get phone calls in reliably. To mee it is just not acceptable to be told my equipment is in and then when I call back I cannot speak to anyone. The hold message mentions going to the web site to make appointments and arrange deliveries as well as chat. Perfect I thought while on hold I will go to the web site and see if I can just do it there. NOPE I need a customer number, now when they called and left a message if they had left my customer number it is possible I could have done it all online or thru chat. I will not know of course. I am very disappointed that after being on hold for a fairly long time I was told there is no one here. The phone message also did not mention what to press on the phone tree for new patients, if there had been maybe I would have had a message that said due to long wait times we will not be able to take your call today please pick a time tomorrow when we can call you back. As far as I know I just need to go in for a mask fitting so not sure why someone special has to make the appointment. If I had known how poor their service was I would have asked my doctor for a different company. So if you are smart ask your doctor which companies they deal with and check reviews! Have been unable to get any assistance in signing into web site (if it even exists), Called, told 1st call 38-minute hold time and 2nd time 128-minute hold time (and have learned to never call in anytime close to closing they just leave a person on hold and go home). Nice enough people if-repeat if-a person finds a soul with whom to speak. Equally, from the time the request for material/supplies was submitted in early December 2025, 3 calls to the hospital, finally received response after I drove 60 miles for the supplies on 02/26/2026-that is unacceptable for any business. The product seems fine-the website and support are unacceptable and further I suspect the majority of clients are elderly and not Gen z or younger-system is not elder user friendly. I have been trying to get an appointment for a CPAP mask fitting for over an hour. The "local" number sends me to the supply center who I was on hold with Tameka for over 20 minutes. I hung up and called back and was disconnected by Samantha. I called back and Tameka said I need to call the "local" office which is who I called. Tameka then put me on another hold for 15 minutes. Preferred Homecare/Lincare used to call me every month for me to order new supplies for a CPAP machine, even though I really didn't need new supplies that often. Some time ago, at least several months ago, they stopped calling me, although they still bill me every month, while charging my insurance an unbelievably high amount for my equipment. Now I tried to get back in touch with them to order supplies and I won't go through the ridiculous waste of time it took to get nowhere, although I'll give a few details. I tried to sign up for their portal, but after a long frustrating time I found that they say I already signed up. Perhaps I lost my sign in information, but their system for what to do if I forgot my username and password only sent me around in circles. For instance, after I pressed "3" for CPAP supplies, I was sent back to the beginning menu of choices that I had already made. This happened repeatedly and was a total waste of time. I finally made the only logical choice and gave up. This is an example of the scam posing as "health care" that Americans are forced to put up with. I don't understand how any conscious and honest person could give this company a rating of any more than one star. How can anyone tolerate this theft? read more

Poor company to work with. We recieved an order that was incorrect and called to get corrected. It has been 6mos since and we can not get the. credit for the returned merchandise and have received no help from the company. They seem to be just transfer from one department to another. Even their customer complaint department told us they would fix the issue but nothing has been done. Stay away from this company they prey on the seniors to get your money with zero customer service. This is not specifically about the Lakewood office, this is about Preferred/Lincare in general. Tried again to order CPAP supplies. Called the CPAP supply center. Talked to a lady who said she had to contact my local office. Put me on hold. 10 minutes later someone else came on and asked what I wanted. I told her. She said this is the wrong department. Sent me back to the CPAP supply center where I started all over again. This lady had a terrible time finding my account then repeatedly asked the same questions and couldn't even get a simple last name correct. I finally said, "We're getting nowhere and I am going to call back". I hung up. Called the CPAP supply center again. Got another lady. At least she could find the account and did order the supplies but didn't sound totally confident that I would receive them. So...an hour later, we will wait 7-10 business days and see if anything shows up. This was a totally classic interaction with Preferred/Lincare. This has been one of the worst experiences I have encountered with a company. I needed a CPAP, so I was referred by my PCP to this place. They called a couple days later and was told that they were busy and would call to schedule and appointment in about 6 weeks (not sure why they couldn't schedule an appointment right then, even if it was far out, but ok). Fast-forward 8 weeks later and they call me while i'm at work, I could not answer but called back that same day. I was told that there is no direct line to the scheduling department and the best they could do is use their super secret line to scheduling and have someone call me back. Fast- forward 2 more weeks and I get another call that I unfortunately missed again but called them back immediately. When I was gave the same spiel, I asked to talk to a supervisor but was rudely told that there is nobody else to talk to but her and "it is what it is". Fast-forward 1 more week, I finally get a call that I am able to answer and get scheduled for the next week. So it took approximately 11 weeks (Almost three months) to just get an appointment on the books. Oh, I forgot to mention that every time i called I waited on hold for a minimum of 30min every time (once almost 50min). I understand that most places are busy nowadays, but the time and energy spent on just getting an appointment was enough to wear my patience thin. I haven't had my appointment yet, but I cannot see it getting any better from here on out. If something changes my mind about this company during my appt. I will updated my review. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My wife asked for portable oxygen refills on Thursday as not enough was left at first visit to get her through Drs apps for the rest of the week. We explained that she had a cardiology appt next day that all tanks were empty. Still they insisted no deliver til Monday. We had to cancel cardiology. Preferred/ Lincare is one of the absolute worst healthcare organizations/ providers to ever be imagined or exist. Their employee on the phone call was supposed to send a new mask because the one originally provided to me was the wrong size. Well, they sent a new water reservoir. The mask that I've struggled with for a year now pops off with the least movement. I can't get them to replace it with a better design. I've lost more sleep because of the mask than my sleep apnea. I am having a really hard time with Perfered Home Care. I've been doing business with them for years, but for the last ten weeks, I have only received one delivery, I've called every week to let them know, and it's getting me absolutely nowhere. So I called them today to let them know that I had to take a leave of absence from the company that I work for and to please stop delivery for now and when I go back to work, I will call to resume service. I also pointed out that because of all the problems that I have with them, I broke down and paid $2300.00 dollars for a portable oxygen consintrator because it is very important that I have oxygen. I am a 63 year old woman who is disabled and on oxygen. Then, the lady that I was speaking with informed me that because I purchased the POC that they will no longer provide me with oxygen. I was like, you are kidding me. I would like to talk to a manager,she informed me that there was no one there that I could talk to. Her next remark was I could call back tomorrow and argue with whoever takes your call. I asked her for her name, and she refused to give it to me. Two bad experiences with this company. I requested a referral to a different provider but my Medicare advantage plan forces me to use this business. Warning. Do not assume your order is being processed! My order for CPAP was placed 38 days ago so today I called to find out the status. I was told my order hadn't been received because the person who answered didn't have the authority to check the digit order system. I had to call my doctor who said "call back and ask for a supervisor to look in the digital system" whoever answered the phone didn't even mention this! I called back and they got a supervisor who found my order and then I was told I'd be put back in line for the order to be processed. I then asked to speak to the supervisor who expedited my order and I now I have an appointment for a CPAP class and mask fitting. I shouldn't have waited to call. I had to call twice on the overnight oxygen test too! This company is a nightmare. LESSONS: 1. Do not wait to call and check on your order! Call right away and check on the status of your order. 2. If the person who answers says it hasn't been received, tell them to ask a supervisor to check the B(D?)ME scripts digital order site. The equipment is fine. The communication with the company is wretched. I called over and over to ask them to come and pick up their equipment, never got through, spent more than two hours on hold on different days. Finally, went to their office in Denver and asked them to come and get their equipment. Their office is more than an hour's drive from my home. They came and got it the next day. Then I paid the bills they sent. I finally got a bill for $39.56 threatening legal action for non-payment. When I called to make payment (the billing office answered promptly!), they informed me that the bill was in error, that it has been paid weeks ago. Avoid this company! PS- I continue to get dunning notices from Preferred and from (their parent company?) Lincare in Florida for the $39.56 Preferred's billing office says I have paid. read more

Awful company. There is always a long long long wait to talk to anyone. When I finally get through I get transferred around and cut off all the time. This last time was 7 different transfers. Each time they ask for name, address, phone etc before they will address your request. Previously I tried calling day after day. Long holds....talking 45min to 1 hr, and still not able to talk to anyone. Also got "message box full". They consistently send me the wrong supplies. Due to my insurance coverage, I have been switched to this company. Trying to speak with an agent is almost impossible. It is normal to be on hold for over twenty minutes, at which point you are automatically transferred to their "live" answering service. Expect to be put on hold there also. Also had a bad experience with a delivery driver. I live in a locked apartment and request that the driver call ahead so I can meet them in the lobby. Delivery was OK but no instructions on set up and use of tanks, etc. The worst problem is now that my primary has taken me off oxygen is that I cannot get the tanks and concenstrator picked up. I have been paying for services that I haven't been able to use. Idk why the technician cannot follow up regularly. I've called and called.
