The only team I'll ever recommend! It can often be difficult to find a good company in the trades,…read moremany often have reputations akin to used car salesmen. I've often had difficulties even getting a response. Well, I can confidently say that relief has come in the form of D'Ambruoso Plumbing! I originally got in touch with them last year to do some work and was very, very pleasantly surprised. This family crew is professional, prompt, punctual, courteous, polite, informative, and any other superlative you can think of. Not to mention the price seemed almost too low, that's never a bad thing, especially in today's economy! Vincent from D'Ambruoso came out last year and again recently and as usual did fantastic work. He explained everything in simple terms for me and unlike some others we've worked with, I didn't feel talked down to. I was very pleased with their work and when we needed them to come back to the house, I didn't hesitate to reach out again. He was able to come back out in a week and fix a leak in the basement by changing some pipes out. Vincent also took a look at some other issues we had and offered recommendations on how to fix them. Again, the price was low and the work was excellent! Couldn't be more satisfied. There's simply no competition, D'Ambruoso is the ONLY team I'll ever use. Honest, dependable, timely, and affordable, high quality work, they're the total package. Another A+ job! Thank you again to the best crew around!

When…read moreI arrived at my condo on a Saturday night and found my water heater leaking I needed help fast. Being the weekend I did not expect the response I got. I left a message on their phone Sunday morning, got a text back later in the day, and provided them with all the info they needed. They had a quote for me by 8:30 Monday, were here by 9:30, and completed the job by 11:00. While the price was at the high end of my expectation, it was worth it as they were friendly, helpful, personable and efficient. I have already recommended them to several friends, and will use them for any future plumbing/heating needs.

ARC Mechanical Contractors

A few months ago, I had some siding done on the house and the last day at my house, one of the contractors put a sheet-rock screw through the power lead to one of the mini-splits. Unfortunately, it rendered all of the mini-splits inactive and I called ARC to fix. I was the one who discovered the screw through the wire so I told them what was, at least, the initial problem. ARC told me that I needed a licensed electrician to fix the power lead even though their installation tech (who's not an electrician) wired it in over a year ago. So I had to fix the wire before they'd even come out to my house. After I fixed the wire, they arrived late on a Friday when I wasn't even home and did some trouble-shooting. An hour and a half later they came to the conclusion that there were 3 blown fuses and left. 2-weeks and a couple of my phone calls later, they finally received the fuses and came back to my house to install them. My siding people also left some of the "line-hide" duct work off and ARC's guys attempted to put it back together. Two hours later, they finally gave up and said that the "wire-hide" had been modified and I might need some new pieces. So after 3.5 hours of labor I had a working AC but the "line-hide" duct-work, remains unfinished. ARC also charged me $24 for a truck-charge. Would this have been waived if they didn't bring their truck? To add insult to injury, the water heater that ARC installed at the same time as the AC system starting leaking around a "crimp" fitting. Apparently soldering is passe! Obviously they are choosing not fix the water heater under warranty either! I realize that a lot of this problem was not ARC's fault but what they did after the fact pisses me off. Can't fix a wire with a screw in it? Hour and half to find 3 blown fuses? 2-weeks to get these (highly specialized) fuses? 2 hours to figure out that the "line-hide" had been modified? How about some good will because the water heater is leaking through one of their lousy crimp fittings? Lastly, the service manager Scott, took two weeks to get back me and tell me "It is what it is". I'm paying the bill ($384) but they'll get no recommendation from me!

Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain

Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain

Tyler of Pipe Dreams Sewer & Drain is *fantastic*. I've lived in my townhouse condo for nearly 12…read moreyears, and the kitchen sink has never drained marvelously well. I had understood that it was due at least in part to a shallow grade of the outlet pipe...whatever. A couple of years ago, it had gradually become clogged enough that it was draining painfully slowly. I had RotoRooter out to clear it, and when the work was done, it was much better. It drained just fine, like before. Over two or three months this past fall, it gradually slowed down again, and I waited because I remembered how expensive it was the last time. Finally, there was no more waiting. It had become gross, it was so *disgustingly* slow, and I was even wondering whether it would require major work of some kind. I am so happy to have seen the glowing reviews here of Pipe Dreams. I called them & they were able to get me in in two days. Tyler was here for about an hour, and the tools he used were very different from the long, manual snake that RotoRooter had used. It/they were motorized things that had a reach far down the pipes. Tyler explained that he was staying mindful of the neighbors' pipes and not disturbing those. When he was done, he filled the sink with water & then released it. Since we bought this place all those years ago, I had NEVER seen it empty so fast, and I didn't even think it was possible. The water began to spin and make the most beautiful whirlpool and then was gone. The whole time he was here, Tyler could not have been more considerate, clear in his communication, and helpful. He also gave me tips on how to keep the drain clear. I kept meaning to write this review soon after he was here, but it's now been three months - oops! Here is the bright side to the delay: I can report that the sink has been draining wonderfully ever since, and it makes me soooo happy every time I use the sink. Call Pipe Dreams! You will be glad you did.

We enjoyed getting to know them and were very impressed with how much they care. They made the job change work with the price they had quoted us as well, which was very reasonable. Thank you both for being a great team. Louisa and Dean

Bubs Plumbing and Heating

Had Bubs out to fix two small leaks and prime our well pump. My mistake was letting them start…read morewithout asking for their rate or an estimate. Getting water running again was our priority but he suggested starting on the leaks. Not long after beginning, Bub's father told me they couldn't attach their fitting to the well line because water was coming through; realizing my well line is gravity-fed after beginning. I had to pull the well line above the water level myself before they could install a shut-off valve. My well cover is about 300lbs and the line is 8ft down. I'm not sure what their plan would've been if I was not there. After saying the water was flowing again, they later told me my pump was done for and not to run it. They quoted $925 for a new pump, not including labor. With two hours of labor, the bill also came to $925 and my family was no closer to having running water. The materials installed were six feet of copper pipe, several compression fittings, a shut off valve, and a pipe hanger. I called another plumber afterward, who knew right away (just from a phone call) that my pump was fine. He had it running smoothly in minutes by clearing a port of sediment and then adjusting the pressure switch. Bub talked a lot about his experience and showed up with help but needed me to find a way to stop the water in order to address the first leak and then either missed or ignored the step that would've gotten my pump working. Their website claims they're transparent and budget-friendly, but I wasn't told his extreme rate upfront, the bill wasn't itemized (still waiting 9 days after he confirmed he would), and I nearly paid for an unnecessary pump replacement. Leaving 2 stars because the copper work itself was solid, but charging $250 per hour for six feet of easily accessible pipe work feels unreasonable. Being given the wrong diagnosis on the pump was unacceptable and raises concerns about their expertise or honesty.
