I had asked about a veteran discount to try and get the higher than expected price down a bit. He said he had already given me a discount, so he couldn't do that as well. Wasn't sure what the discount was, but if they do have a veterans discount it's probably better than the ~6% savings from the one he gave me. Work quality (as far as I can tell) was good, but price is extremely high considering the time and parts required. Won't be my first choice next time we have an issue.

Woods technician also set out water heater on continuous VS demand which continually heats the water instead of when on demand-which depletes your gas much faster. There was no conversation about this. I found this company reckless and indifferent to this project , probaly because we are not in an affluent neighborhood and I believe they have some corporate accounts. Luckily, I was able to find the names and emails of the general managers of this company in case they try to send a delayed bill. We had Faithco give estimates on preparing a house to sell…read more There were some elements of their estimate that were reasonable here are the parts that were not. A toilet seat wobbled a small amount. The Faithco plumber said it would be $275-$1000 to fix it. I took a look at it and it took me 15 seconds to tighten the nuts at the base of the toilet. The drip tray of an air conditioner in the attic had been collecting water and draining through a pipe for years, which is not ideal! The drain took a path that zig-zagged up and down a bit. They proposed raising the unit to be suspended from the rafters and replacing the pan. I asked why not just replace the pipe, taking a straighter path and he said that the AC unit sitting on top of styrofoam supports was putting at risk of falling. His quote was $2800 to raise the unit. And he wouldn't offer other options even after I questioned each part. I asked another company and they suggested changing the pan for $1500 and fixing the drain for $500. We went with just fixing the drain for $500. We wanted a quote on replacing a 20+ year old AC system. Faithco couldn't find the model number of the unit on the equipment outside but found a 3 ton furnace in the attic so they quoted us (summer of 2025) $13,800 for a SEER 15.2 3 ton unit and $16,800 for a SEER 16.2 unit. Another contractor found the nameplate and showed it to me (a little hard to find but not really, right on the compressor) and saw it was a 2 ton unit (you can tell it's a 2 ton because the model number ends in "24"). The other contractor subsequently quoted us $10,500 for a 2 ton system and $12,800 for a 3 ton system. The other contractor also pointed out that since the house has a 2 ton unit for the bedrooms and a 4 ton unit for the main living space, high SEER is less important, the unit would mostly be used in the evenings, not all day. I had a follow-up conversation with the Faithco HVAC tech and he doubled-down on believing it was a 3 ton unit even though I told him I saw the model number ending in "24". He said, and I recall it exactly because it was so odd, "In this area, we make sure our our compressors match our furnaces." I bit my tongue but wanted to say, "I agree, but the nameplate I'm looking at still ends in "24"". Faithco recommended replacing 3 AC float switches for $225 apiece. Maybe it was me but I couldn't figure out why we needed them. I don't think they tested the existing units but I'm not sure. Soooo, we went with Evans Air instead.

I had a long term business relationship with C Davis until I purchased a…read more Pro Nest thermostat with a 5 year warranty for $375.00. Last year. It never worked correctly ( this was my second house to have one, which he installed and serviced, so I was very familiar with the Smart functionality and never had an issue) fast forward.... After insinuating that I didn't know how to use the APP or the settings, They sent a service rep out to check the settings after only a month or so old and they charged me for a service call ( 5 year warranty ?????) the next time I called about the problems I had, I was told by the owner that he didn't really like The Nest new generation unit. He claims he told me that beforehand, which he did not. He recommended I go to a Honeywell, so I expected a refund towards the exchange, but he refused and said Nest does not refund him, but will only send a replacement. Now I'm out another $300 or so dollars for the Honeywell. Several months later and after several reminders, his assistant dropped off a new Pro Nest which says on the box that Sale by a non professional is strictly prohibited. I listed it for sale for only $200 ( $175 less than I paid) and I have had no bites, since Lowes sells them for under $200. I contacted Nest customer support and they said the new unit was not sold by them and was not registered. Neither was the first one. They said the HVAC company should register them to keep the warranty valid. It was not registered. The owner told me that he had told me to register it, which he did not. SOOOOOO, he ignored my emails and calls explaining that I cannot sell it. He ignored me and I've filed a complaint with the BBB here in Tyler. After about a month he finally replied stating he had warned me that they weren't a good product (but he took my $375 and sold it to me) He never told me that! He never told me to register it and he did not honor the 5 year warranty, nor did Nest because it wasn't registered. He's the professional AC company, not me. I'm out $464 for the service call and the unit which I've asked him to refund me and I will give it back unopened and sealed up. Buyer Beware!!! It's really disappointing , since I had been a long term customer. IMO this is a pure misrepresentation , if not total dishonesty with a few lies defending his position and a real SCREW job. I'm waiting to hear what BBB says after I replied and I stated that I did not accept his resolution/ which is TOO bad! I'm supposed to accept the loss and be satisfied with that ???? I'm warning everyone on social media and with BBB not to use them.
