The place was remodeled in the last 6 months, but you'd never know. The new floor is already falling apart, and the layout makes no sense. There isn't anyone posted at the gym, so any concerns fall on deaf ears. And any time something like faulty equipment is pointed out to management, the response is always "no one ever tells me, I didn't know about that". Membership is obviously falling, days that used to be packed with gym goers seldom have more than a handful of people present. If you care about a clean and friendly environment with a staff that cares, this is not the gym for you.

You can use the mirrored class rooms (if they aren't in use) for abs and such. So here I am, 2 minutes before my workout, finding out that I would be working out with a trainer I barely knew and that I had never discussed my fitness goals with; not to mention, the personal training I had already paid for, was now "guided" training, which I learned means group training. Ummm...well, I certainly hope group training would cost less...Anyways, at my next session I personally spoke to the owner about getting a refund and let her know I would have liked to know before showing up for my workout that both my trainer and my personal training session had been replaced. She smugly sat there with a smirk on her face and made excuses and reasons as to why she was right in not refunding me and I was wrong. She said the new trainer I was working with could continue personal training with me until my sessions run out. How personal can the training be when other clients are there for their sessions at the same time I am and there is only one trainer...whom I have never agreed to training with or talked about my fitness goals with? I am a paying client and this place is not inexpensive by any means. No, instead I am forced to workout there under her chosen circumstances or lose out on my money. Sadly, Linkage has completely lost all trust and respect from me.

Austin (coach) has a background in Olympic weightlifting, which translated well (for me) as he had different ways to explain positioning and execution of landing and pulls in a lift. He's offered a variety of scaling options, and encouraged us (individually) to chase an option that would be tough. I remember the night before my first On-Ramp class I was so nervous. I forced my brother to drive to the gym with me that night so I knew where to go. Well I was too afraid to even get out of my car to introduce myself . Anyways, fast forward a month and I'm doing my first official WOD for time. Eventually everyone finished except for me.. and I definitely started doubting myself. But they all gathered around and cheered me on until I was finished. You really can't top a culture like that! Since joining CFGB, I've not only become physically stronger but I've attained a certain mental toughness which has helped me beyond the walls of the gym. I can confidently accredit this to the coaches' tough love and constant drive to make every single member that walks through the doors of CFGB an overall better version of themselves.
