The night before we left we asked whether we could check out an hour later, but were told that we could not because they were full up fort he next day and therefore would be very busy. When we checked in we were asked whether we wanted to pay in pounds or dollars. we said dollars, and that resulted in an additional 3.5% afee that had not been mentioned. We won't be back.

The club rooms also have separate sleeping quarters and a nice couch, desk and table with chairs. The room has a couple large flat screen TV's with a good amount of channels. There is an ironing board, small refrigerator, hot water heater and coffee machine. Everyday they drop off a couple cookies and chocolates. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which offers room service and plenty of meeting rooms and banquet halls. With the club floor access, I had access to the club lounge where you could have a variety of beverages and free breakfast. I believe from 18:00-20:00 they have appetizers and free alcoholic beverages available. Nice views of the city from the 8th floor lounge. Tip: Join the IHG rewards to earn night stays and access to the club lounge for FREE drinks and appetizers. The room was great, a good size and was very clean. The TV worked as it should and had plenty of channels all in perfect quality unlike some other hotels I've states in. We were informed on check-in about a restaurant deal. It was a dinner (2 courses or £2 for a third course), a free drink, and breakfast the following morning for about £22.50 I think it was. We decided to go with this for the first night and we were very please with the meal and we even hung around after for a few drinks at the bar. That night we both slept very well and we both complimented the bed in the morning as it was a great size and very comfortable. We also had 2 pillows each which is rare in hotels. We had breakfast in the hotel both mornings and we were very satisfied afterwards. It was a help yourself buffet style so you could customise it to whatever you wanted. Both Friday and Saturday we went to the Trafford Centre which is literally across the road. The Shopping Centre is massive and has plenty of shops, restaurants and even an arcade and cinema. On the last day we checked out at about 12pm and left our bags with the receptionist and they were locked away and taken care of for the day while we went to old Trafford to the Manchester United and QPR game. A shuttle bus service was run between the hotel and the Premier Inn at Old Trafford which was £2.50 each which was ideal. All in all I was very happy with this hotel and would have absolutely no problem staying here again. I highly recommend it. Every staff member was great, the food was good, the rooms were perfect, honestly for the price there was nothing else I could ask for.

The rooms were clean and comfortable enough, maybe a touch dated, although ours was like an oven when we walked in but this was quickly rectified by cracking open a window and turning off the radiator. The major plus point for me was complete usage of the spa facilities which include a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - the perfect way to unwind before a flight the next day! The bar is a touch on the pricey side, but it is a hotel bar so no surprises there. I'd definitely stay here again if I was flying from Manchester.

You can either enjoy a delicious plate of hot food with all your standard full English ingredients, all hot, mostly fresh or tuck into a lighter, cold option of fruit, cereal or pastries, however I think the pastries are included in a different, cheaper package. You can go back as many times as you like for more food and there's a toast machine where you make your own toast and enjoy with butter or a selection of different jams and marmalade. The seating area is very bright and very clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful and you didn't get too much attention that it became annoying. The atmosphere was quite loud on my visit but it was a Saturday morning and all the youngsters were looking hungover and regretful. You can walk in here anytime to get a table however it may not be guaranteed as the customers of the hotel would come first I presume. Only issue; I didn't get any mushrooms as they were being prepared in the kitchen as I got my food and by the time they were ready, I was full. But very satisfied.
