I was seeing Dr Gurvits for several reasons including weight reduction. Before the exam started I received an EKG. The EKG diagnosed Afib over 198 beats per minute. He explained that I only had two options, go to the hospital or death. I was terrified and tried to find an easier way but there wasn't any. If you care about your health & life, please read what I've been going through because of Dr. Gurvits & his lack of medical care & follow up. I paid the $150 initial consultation, then $140 "deal" he said was discounted for "him" on the 1st floor of the HOPE building. Then I paid $450 for the pellets, which I need to do every 3 to 3.5 months. Based on my bloodwork, I needed nightly progesterone (200 mg) & Armor thyroid medication each day at 120 mg. Then they told me I needed to buy the supplements like DIM, the multi vitamin & many others, & all of this totaled another $600. "Saul" who takes your blood pressure & weight told me that all pellet patients can come in at any time without an appointment if you are having problems & you can talk with the doctor. BIG LIE. I am 54. Post menopause. I was concerned that the pellets would cause me to start getting my period again. He said, "Absolutely not." I was relieved. I told him I had fibromyalgia & asked if it would help reduce the muscle & nerve pain. He said, "It will all go away completely." How exciting! RESULTS: Rapid changes. Let's get personal here. My clitoris DOUBLED in size & was SO painful, I couldn't sleep for 5 days. My nipples hurt so badly for 1 month! Night of Day 11 (their mistake made getting this earlier) - Started taking progesterone & I couldn't stay awake. I called the office again & BEGGED the staff to have Dr. Gurvits call me. They told me he's busy. Saul told me they have other patients. Wow! Day 12 - My heart rate progressively got higher & higher. I started getting very, very sick. I told Dr. Gurvits I had a heart murmur & arrhythmia during our consult. I said I couldn't have anything that would increase my heart rate. I was nauseous daily & getting dizzy. I called again. NO HELP! My personality change was abrupt, angry, short & curt with everyone. When I called & spoke with Teresa, who was previously nice, she told ME to not be so rude when I said I need to speak with Dr. Gurvits right away because something was wrong. I said, YOU all gave me this medication that's making me like this & you won't have the doctor call me!? She left me on hold for 10 minutes & didn't come back to the phone 2 TIMES! I didn't know what was causing these problems, & since I was so exhausted, I stopped taking the Progesterone for 3 days. Day 18 - I got my period for the first time after 3 years! I'm talking a HEAVY, PAINFUL, period because I was bleeding SO MUCH for 2 weeks straight! I called again, of course. No one cared. I was put on hold. No one came to the phone. 3rd Week - Continuous period issue, I called again & was put on hold by the rude girl, Teresa again, & then Saul finally picked up. I told him everything I'd been going through, & he was SO RUDE, I was in SHOCK! He said, "DeVita, I never told you that visits after your pelleting was free. Why would you EVER think you would get to talk to a doctor for FREE? You have to pay $140 if you want to talk with him like everyone else." I could barely get through the pain of my period, dizziness & nauseous for 2 weeks. Not one person cared. Not even Brittany would get me a copy of my medical records. Nope! I've spoken to my NEW, female doctor 3 TIMES at The Lab in Temecula, at no additional charge! She is an amazing doctor. Caring. Knowledgeable. Affordable! They care about you! It's been 30 days with my period and it's FINALLY stopping! The high dose of the thyroid medication made my fibromyalgia flare up & did you know when you take prescription thyroid medication, it STOPS your OWN thyroid from working! My new bloodwork shows my thyroid is no longer functioning and needs time to work again. Brittany said I was given 175 mg of testosterone & 10 mg of estradiol/estrogen initially, but they now refuse to give me my records. There are doctors out there using synthetic (dangerous) hormones, & I do not know what I was given based on these results. So the spa itself is clean and pretty. The staff is very friendly. Staci Johnson is my nurse who did the treatments. She's great. I loved my sessions, we talked about everything and time passed quickly. She always makes sure your comfortable. The drawback is you're told there will be complete hair removal at the beginning, and I bought the 8 sessions to ensure that...(while having the "best" type of skin and hair follicle for the treatments) and i don't have complete hair removal. At the last 2 sessions I was told 90% removal or reduction is what is promised. Because of this I won't go back. I paid an arm and a leg for treatments under the impression I wouldn't have hair anymore. Annual maintenance is what i was told. That being said, the reduction of hair follicle and growth is significant. read more

I have been interested in laser hair removal for my face for a while now, and saw that this clinic was nearby so I bit the bullet and payed $99 for a "consultation". I was met with Dr. Gurvits and his assistant and I will just say that they did not make me feel comfortable at all. I am a young male, and yes, I don't want my facial hair. I identify as queer and I am gender non-conforming. LGBTQ people exist, yet Gurvits and his assistant were looking at me the whole time as if I was some sort of alien. Hell, after my brief visit which lasted maybe 5 minutes of actually conversing with him, they scoffed at me! For the record, I am a """normal""" looking person and all I want is for my beard to be removed. Secondly, he said he could reduce my hair "by 97%" in just 6 sessions at $250 each over the course of 6 months. I'm no doctor, but I am not naive and I know laser can take up to 2 years sometimes, especially for males with such a vast amount of thick hair. So apparently all it takes is 6 months and $1500 - which is very overpriced when I have heard of other clinics charging for much less. Maybe I would have decided to book another appointment if I felt welcome by the staff, but I did not. I can't comment on other people's experiences with him, but judging by some other reviews he is not professional at all. Admittedly, I had no treatment done so I can't comment on the quality of his craft. I'm simply leaving this for other young lgbtq people who are considering going here - I'd strongly advise against it. His office is pleasant, clean and relaxing. I just couldn't ask for anything more of him. How I met him was on the medical side. He helped my mother with an emergency and she healed because of his caring and kindness. He was tender and kind to her. On the cosmetic side he is just as knowledgeable and tender and kind. Went here to get a full facial, laser hair removal for 7 sessions, which costed me around $1.5K. They burned my chin, which left a scar, I still have facial hair in most of my face (didn't even take the fine forehead hairs away) and only half of my mustache is gone. It was not only painful, because sometimes they wouldn't put enough anesthetic cream, but a waste of money since the results were either nonexistent in some areas of my face, and some other areas, like my mustache, were not done properly. When I went for my consultation, the person who saw me did not even examined my face. He just took me to a private room, told me the price, and said I'd need around 6 sessions. When I was on my 6th session, they told me I'd probably need about 13. I went once more and just didn't bother going back because of such poor results. read more

A few months ago, Dr. Gervets added Radiessese to my cheeks. I was left with horrible lumps where it was injected and also, below the injections. Dr. told me it wasn't the Radiess but an infection and prescribed a topical cream for it. The following week, he told me that the lumps weren't his fault & that he could use steroids to try to dissolve the lumps but that the steroids would leave my cheeks uneven. He then suggested that I "buy" more filler & that would lift the skin more & the lumps wouldn't be so noticeable. On top of that, he encouraged me to have a series of 3 other injections over the next year that would last 10 years!!! Awhile back, he added a filler to the lines above the lips & they were so lumpy and hard that he had to give me a dental block and then rub hard to dissolve the injection. I have very little volume in my cheeks where the Radiesses was added. I had swelling after the injections that had lasted 2 weeks & he said that the reason the $2000 worth of volume was gone in 3 weeks was because I'd had swelling!
