I have had visited many schools before and have had the honor of being taught by some very good instructors. That said. Prof. Peter does a great job running his classes and instructing his students. It is well organized from beginning to end and he is actively involved during the entire class. Starts on time and no wasted time. During my drop-in, we were going over the Osoto Gari takedown (a technique I have been taught many times by Judo blackbelts). Prof. Peter provided excellent and balanced detail on the technique, as it was a beginner/intermediate class, careful not too overwhelm the students. Highly recommend checking this school out. Clean facilities, great instruction and good vibes. Keep up the good work Prof. Peter! PS. Watch out for a former D1 All-American wrestler posing as a 4 stripe white belt. What he lacks in BJJ technique he overwhelmingly makes up for in grappling IQ and will crush higher belts. Sorry bud, but you need some color on your waist.

I took a chance and joined, not knowing what to expect. Measurements, weight and body fat percentages were taken. Class times were arraigned and my journey started. It wasn't always easy, some days I even thought about quitting, but I pulled it together and kept going. June's challenge ended and I kept going, mostly because I actually started to look forward to it. In two short months I have lost 23.5 pounds, almost 5% body fat and more inches than I would like to admit! (4 waist, 4 hips, 2 on my thighs ) I feel so much better, and I and definitely getting stronger. Thanks Team 212 for your support, I couldn't have done it without all of you!

As someone who asked for leniency in a time of struggle, I'd like share my upsetting experience. While attending this gym, I was struggling through abuse from men. I was also struggling to make ends meet, and I just wanted a place to put my head down and work. I was not left alone. Multiple fighters at this gym mocked and made fun of me in front of other members at this gym. I heavily avoided interaction. While sitting in my car on the side of the freeway, I texted and asked; "Could I possibly pause billing and attending for a two week period and then resume?" The response from the gym owner was; "Our system doesn't hold for less than a month." Luckily, God provided and my ex boyfriend offered to pay $200 for me to keep training. (That's the monthly rate.) I will provide a screenshot of this conversation. I asked in person to a kind instructor, and he told me that sounded very reasonable. There are a couple people at this gym that are genuine. After leaving a comment on a recent instagram post relating to this GuardianGym, I was contacted by the owner. (This post was requesting donations for those struggling financially.) She attempted to apologize, and in the same breath she asked for the deletion of my comment. Also while apologizing, she was attempting to blame and deflect the responsibility that she denied my request for a freeze. She then deleted my comment herself. This inspired me to share my experience. I want to add that in the screenshot she asked for me to add my card on file. I added my card. As seen, she later reached out to me to say "my card" was declining. She was instead attempting to charge my ex boyfriend's card, as mine ended in 3899. When opportunity to be rude presented itself, it was taken. I also experienced rude interactions with her daughter who is the 'pretty blonde girl' who works the front desk referenced in an honest review below.

They all are supportive, encouraging, will give many different options for the same exercise. They all are fun, kind and each show a real interest in you as a client. I have been to Title and Easton for boxing, but I appreciate the super small class sizes (max of 8 for boxing), direct attention and instruction, and community feel of Gemini. The coaches, Dave, TJ, and Dion, all have tons of experience and are incredibly helpful. The other people at this gym are also warm and welcoming. I haven't done Jiu-Jitsu there yet, but I go to the boxing and kickboxing classes regularly, and bootcamp every once in a blue moon. I definitely recommend this place--the small groups lead to a lot of personalized support and it's an excellent value. I am feeling stronger, more empowered, and more knowledgeable about boxing as well as the mechanics of my own body. Highly recommend this great little spot in Englewood off of Broadway!
