I have a better sense and understanding of how to work and move my upper body, why my breathing and posture are so important. I believe in my ability to grow stronger and be able to handle my limitations. I have had two rotator cuff surgeries on the same shoulder within two years. The latest surgery repaired my bicep, but the superior scapulas was too retracted for repair. My doc suggests reconstruction surgery. I await a yay or nay from workmans comp. In the mean time, I have been attending the best round of physical therapy I've experienced yet. With the first surgery, I went with a completely different Pt group. I thought they were great until I came to Riverview.

Dr. Teixeira is a very gentle soul who has a way of making you feel that you have his complete attention during your appointment. He is obviously very knowledgable in his specialty, but what I love about his personal philosophy is that he does not try to perpetuate treatment. His goal is to get you self-sufficient with ergonomics, exercises, and new habits. That can't be said for other practitioners I've known in the past. Let's see now . . . two hips replaced along with my left knee. My left knee and right hip replacements were performed by Dr. Thomas W. Rock. Irrespective, my chose Mountain Center for physical therapy and, in particular, Jaclyn Salldin, PT. My background is physical education so I thoroughly understand the process. This facility is one of the best in the area. There is a strong sense of professionalism coupled with extensive knowledge of PT technique. Also, the entire groups of PTs are personable and creative. The office staff is absolutely outstanding. I was always greeted personally and with a smile. It is critical to enter physical therapy with a positive outlook and these professionals will help. Jaclyn, currently on maternity leave, is extraordinary. She has the ability to change her techniques based upon need. With my PE and strong science background, I was able to introduce some potential exercises that would help overcome a problem with posterior knee pain associated with surgery. Thus, it was a team effort. I am very particular about selecting medical staff and The Mountain Center TOTAL staff fulfilled all my expectations and more. Consequently, I now pay a monthly fee to use the facility as a "gym." Jaclyn, although not required to do so, still watches over me.

Darci is the first person you meet and what a great ambassador she is...friendly and welcoming. I immediately felt comfortable and at home. My Physical Therapist was Nic and he was fabulous. He did a thorough assessment and taught me a lot of stretching and strengthening exercises to do that have really helped. I also had deep tissue massage which really diminished my hip pain to a point where I was essentially pain free.
