First - reading the review prior to mine - I couldn't be more shocked. Our remodel was just finishing up as their project was starting and I strongly believe some of what is said below is wildly fabricated. Josh was nothing short of a consummate professional on our job. Did everything go perfect? No - does it ever on a major home renovation project? But Josh made sure every single issue was taken care of. Including when an electrician royally screwed up our wiring. Josh lost a lot of time and money having it redone and didn't even try to up-charge me for the difference despite the lost time, materials and re-do of the job by a new electrician. Even months after the job was done - he has come back to fix minor issues that pop up (grout fixes, etc) and has never charged us one extra penny. I have recommended Hastings to several friends and neighbors - including a friend who has them doing a full second story addition on their house right now and is very happy and our neighbor who runs a major house flipping company (tv show) and he has hired them on to help him as well. We will be having Josh and the boys back soon to remodel a bathroom for us. If anyone wants pictures or more info feel free to reach out to me. Preston pulled the ladder out of his car, got up on the roof and glued the shingle down. After all that, he stated that the roof still has quite some time in it. Preston acted very courteous and professional, and there is no question as to what roofer i will call to get it replaced.

Just had the best experience with Don Knarr Remediation on my remodeling project. Due to guttering…read moreand other water issues, my newly purchased house had mold and needed paneling, walls, and flooring removed. My contractor and others recommended Don Knarr and what Don and his crew delivered far exceeded my expectations. On Monday a full crew of ten arrived at 7:45 a.m. to begin demolition. By the end of the day they had filled one 30 yd. dumpster and all the mold-affected drywall and paneling, nasty kitchen cabinets and vinyl flooring was in it. Day 2 saw dog urine-soaked sub-flooring and another ceiling--along with chain link fencing and brush--in the second dumpster. Day 3 was more of what I've dubbed "concierge" demolition (i.e. "Would you like us to take care of that?"): piles of nasty old cushions, broken lamps, trash and other rubbish in the furnace room removed and a couch that had been stored there carried to the garage. They even vacuumed the couch! By the end of Day 3 my house was totally transformed, two dumpsters were filled and the project was ahead of schedule. The professionalism and wide set of skills displayed by Don's crew, headed up by Kiki, was amazing. They handled every aspect of the job with seeming ease and their coordination was a beautiful thing to watch. To top off my first week's experience, I received an e-mail from Don letting me know that we're ahead of budget and the final bill would be less than anticipated. You get the picture. These guys are great. They'll be back in a few weeks, when everything has thoroughly dried out, to complete the mold remediation part of their work. I now have complete confidence that this important issue will be resolved and my house will be a safe place to live. Will this be one of the best expenditures I make on this project? I recently used TriStar to fix a number of issues in the crawlspace of our home. They were on my…read moreradar because they've helped my parents with at least two disastrous leaks in their home and did great work; they were reliable, got the job done, and even stuck to an original estimate when the project ended up costing significantly more than anticipated. So when our crawl space needed some work Jay with TriStar was one of the people I called to get an estimate from. Not only was he very responsive in coming out and giving an estimate, but his estimate was less than another well-known contractor I talked to. When I decided to wait for months before deciding to do the work, Jay was very professional about it and his original estimate still applied four months later. Once I hired him, the work went very smoothly. Jay is really easy to communicate with and he clearly communicated to me about what would be done and when, and stuck to it! The work was done well, on time and on budget. When there was a freak problem (a nail somehow got driven up from the crawl space through the hardwood floor in our living room), I texted Jay about it...he texted me back immediately and had someone at the house a couple days later to repair the issue, no questions asked. I can't even tell where the nail was now! I've heard horror stories about bad contractors who aren't reliable or responsible and are hard to get ahold of and communicate with...TriStar is the complete opposite of that. I'm so glad I chose them based on seeing their top notch work at my parents' home, because my experience was no different. I'd definitely recommend them.
