We some issues with our sump pump down in the completely finished(carpeted) basement. This lead to mold and having to rip up the carpet. I ripped up and resealed some of the upstairs carpet too. It had the same carpet as the basement so I thought I'd cut bad parts out and swap. When it comes to home improvement I am unskilled to say the least. I got it in my head that I was going to do the carpet myself. So believe you me I made a mess. I cut some too short and ran some the wrong way. All types of mistakes. I worked on it Friday 6pm to 3am Saturday and then again Saturday 10am to 9pm. By 9 I was laying on the floor wishing I didn't exist. I had this job really botched and didn't know what to do. This is when I called in a professional! I can't believe the awesome job Rob did fixing all the terrible cuts and seams I tried. It really turned out awesome. Great experience with Rob from start to finish. He was able to give me an estimate for carpet stretching via email based on square footage which was super convenient and at a reasonable cost. He communicated promptly as well. I forgot to respond to his email requesting my address until 15 minutea after his scheduled arrival. He still came after I responded!! Rob stretched the carpet in four rooms and they look fantastic. There were ripples in the three year old carpet and he was able top remove all of them. I was expecting a good job, but not perfection since the carpet looked so bad. He absolutely knows what he is doing and it only took about an hour and a half. If your carpets have been damaged, call Rob first before getting a new one. I contacted Rob to repair and clean the carpet. He responded immediately to my emails. We had to reschedule a couple of times due to conflicts on my and his end but we were able to find a time that fit in with my schedule. He arrived promptly and was very polite. We do not wear shoes in the house so we provide shoe covers to guests and he was always mindful of putting on/taking off the shoe covers when entering/leaving. There was a hole in the carpet and it had been pulled off the tack strips for some time so it would need to be tacked back on in addition to being steam cleaned. He was meticulous about making sure that the replacement cut was a perfect fit. I literally cannot tell that there was once a hole in the carpet. The repair was seamless and of high quality. Next he tackled the padding. I was thinking of replacing it but was seriously concerned about off gassing since a child in the house has severe asthma and allergies. After examining the padding, Rob determined that replacing it was not necessary. After stapling the padding down, he used a knee kicker to fasten the carpet back onto the tack strips and trimmed the excess carpet with a carpet knife. With the carpet in place, we could move on to the carpet cleaning. Rob first vacuumed, using his own equipment. Next he pre-treated the carpet. Using a portable machine, he then steam cleaned the carpet. I would have preferred that he made at least 2 to 3 passes with the steam cleaner, but since I didn't speak up that one's on me. I am sure he would have done so at my request. The carpet cleaning solution did smell quite strong, but with the windows open and fans going, the smell dissipated a few hours later. My old holey carpet with the stains in it looks fresh again. All in all, my experience with Rob was very positive. I would use him again and will recommend him to family, friends and neighbors. read more

I responded to Rob's posting on craigslist, literally within minutes he replied and within 3 hours he was at my condo completing the repairs.
