We used this company several months ago, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. They did an amazing job of not only the work but also the cleanup and then a walkthrough afterwards to make sure we were happy with the final product. Fast forward to this fall, and we wanted to work with them again for some more projects. When we called, they said they were incredibly busy but could come by to look at what we wanted done and then let us know if they could do the job. They came out on a Sunday and said yes, we can do the work. They said they would have an estimate to us by Wednesday. On Friday, we still didn't have an estimate so I called and asked about it. I was promised one by the close of business that day. On Monday (8 days since they came out), we still didn't have an estimate, so I sent them an email. They responded a few hours later with some questions that had already been answered in the walk through and that gave us the impression that our estimate hadn't even been started. By that Friday (a week after we were promised it by close of business and nine days after they said they would have the estimate), still nothing. I called twice and left messages saying that I needed someone to call me back IMMEDIATELY because this was unacceptable (if you're too busy to do the job, just tell us). That Sunday, eleven days late and two weeks after the initial walk through, we had an estimate with an email saying something like, "sorry for the delay". That was eight days ago, and they have yet to call me and offer any type of genuine apology or explanation as to why they gave us the run around. As you can imagine, this is incredibly disappointing, as we had nothing but positive things to say about them. Had we just used them for the work in the spring and not tried to use them again, we would have given them a five out of five, but this latest experience has been anything but five star treatment. Erick was very responsive to my inquiries and gave a fair estimate to repaint the shutters on my house. I received a complaint from the HOA that the color of my shutters were starting to fade. A few of the shutters were even starting to break off from the wall. Erick's team came in on Thursday to remove all the shutters and take it back to their site for painting. We've had him out here on three occasions and couldn't be happier with his professionalism, eye for detail, and his quest to do the job right and at his exactly quoted budget. The skinny on the projects. THE BROKEN DOOR JAM: About two weeks after we moved into our condo, the previous owners poorly installed front door handle broke. They left us without keys to the garage door nor working garage door openers. We were in trouble. A locksmith came to help us, and promptly broke down the door. This unfortunate turn of events left us in a bad place for a few reasons: 1) The door jam was completely broken. Broken door. Broken door frame. Broken molding. Broken dry wall. 2) The 2016 blizzard was three days away and our house was leaking heat like the Titanic took on water. We asked for a number of quotes to get this fixed and Erick was the only guy who could do it at the budget we wanted in the time frame we desperately needed. His work was impeccable, and to our astonishment, you would *NEVER* know that our door was kicked in. It's stunningly perfect. THE TOTALLY PINK AND BLACK ROOM: In March, my wife and I were overjoyed to find out that we were pregnant with our daughter. Erick took a disgustingly awful room and turned it into our dream nursery. Not only did Erick answer the phone immediately when I called but he was able to expeditiously make an appointment for an estimate on the spot. He came at the very beginning of the time frame (Between 10am and 11am), right around 10:05am and was able to diagnose my problem. I explained to him how crazy my work schedule can be and he worked with me to schedule the work to be done on a convenient day for me. I trust Eric completely. He's utterly honest, does great work, and is a smart, nice guy. And he certainly does seem to know how to do everything. I moved back to take care of my parents when they were just too old to manage. I quickly learned that the house had been neglected for quite awhile and set about taking care of things. I first called Eric when some weird plumbing broke in a freeze. He quickly assessed the situation, suggested different ways to fix it, and got right to work when I made my choice. When we moved to the west coast and rented out the house, he was the only person I felt comfortable hiring to work on the house while we were away. I can't say that about any of the other independents who worked on the house while I was in Maryland. I have not worked with Eric yet, so take this with a grain of salt pending updates. I got a personal recommendation for Eric from a neighbor who had him do a range of work from concrete to plaster to dry wall to other recovery following a fire in their neighbors' house (adjoining town houses). I have a long list of problems in my old house that range from very small and annoying to a big remodel of the basement. Eric came over and did a comprehensive walk-through with me. I'm giving five stars for a walk-through because 1. He took a lot of time to answer every question thoroughly and honestly. I know because I put some zingers in there. 2. He advised me of where he did and did not have expertise, and recommended that I find alternate professionals in the areas where he and his crew are not experts - particularly, some mold remediation and HVAC. 3. He offered some thoughtful, clever solutions to troubling design issues, suggesting that he can go beyond executing work that you have already mentally designed yourself. I met with another company about an hour after Eric left for an estimate on appointment for an estimate for the basement reno. That guy came in, spent 10 minutes whizzing through the house, flashed his contractors' license at me like a cop's badge, and basically gave me the "Hey little lady, work with me because I know what I'm doing and you don't" hard sell. I felt moved to write this review on the basis of the walk-through because of the positive experience and because of all the one and two star reviews on here are from people who just had trouble connecting with Eric, not from people who did work with him for experience.
