They finally started the work in Feb. All around the house were long nails. They never cleaned up the mess after they finished the siding. We just had windows and doors replaced by another company and they scuffed up the new red door and one of the windows. They said they would replace the door. We are now almost in May and still have not heard from them. We brought up the nails all around the house and nothing was done about that. For the gutter, one of the guys face the downspout towards the house instead of away from the house. With the amount of money we paid. Service should be better. We shouldn't have to point out things. I discovered a leak in the ceiling of my 1st-floor half bath, and traced that all the way up…read morethrough my office to the attic. It took a while for me, as a first-time homeowner, to understand that this meant I had a leak in the roof, because I thought it might somehow be a plumbing issue (it was a leak down the bathroom's exhaust vent pipe). The plumber said roofer. I found Manny because I was looking for someone to repair my front porch steps, and given that he was also a roofer, I asked him to give his opinion on what I hoped was a minor issue that could just be repaired, but it turns out that it needed a whole new roof, because the flashing around the pipe was bad, and with further inspection, turned out to be missing shingles, on top of THREE layers of roofing that they'd just kept putting more on. Manny made it easy to coordinate with the insurance company, and what a relief that they agreed to pay for the majority of the roof (but not the tower, which was actually the portion that was in the worst condition, but it wasn't storm damaged, just old). But his help in coordinating made it possible to get it all done, including repairing my front steps, because the cost would have been overwhelming without the insurance part of the equation. The workers were all so kind and helpful, particularly in maneuvering in the tight spaces that is my yard/driveway to get the trash to the curb on trash day around the dumpster in the driveway. Thankfully this work was completed in the winter so no worries about crushing blooms in my front garden, but I also appreciated how they put down tarps over all the plants to protect them, used nets to slide debris into the dumpster, and came back around to clean up after--including using a magnet to catch stray nails. I did unfortunately lose a blueberry bush and I'm a little worried about my blackberry canes, but overall they did their best and while I'd have preferred leaving my leaf mulch down, there's no way to distinguish between the leaf mulch and trash, so you shrug and deal with it. I'm sure the perennials will be fine come spring. As you can see from the pictures, my 1886 Victorian has quite a complicated roofline, and they were able to preserve the profile of the roof, put everything back where it ought to go, and then they'll be coming back in a couple of weeks to patch up the interior places where I originally realized there was damage.

He had books for us to check out all our different options for shutters and railings, and said for bigger jobs, you can go to the showroom to check out materials. I personally loved the convenience of sitting on my front porch and picking everything out! He was patient and let us flip through the books and never once made us feel like he was in a rush. We put a deposit down on the spot. Our ability to do the project was dependent on another contractor doing stone work on our porch first. Fiderio was great about scheduling around them and getting the work done quickly once the stone work project was complete. They did their work fast and cleaned up without a trace. The prices are fair (let's be honest, home improvement projects are never cheap!) and the service and quality of workmanship is fantastic! I haven't even received my invoice for final payment, and I'm already eyeing my back deck for replacement....when I'm ready, I will definitely call Fiderio!
