DO NOT USE THEM. 1) The impression we got is that university application tutors have a single drive, to push you to get the most expensive package they offer even if you're almost fully prepared and just want to be extra cautious. 2) The tutors we encountered are university graduates who failed at securing jobs in their majors thus far, so they tutor out of need and not expertise. If you read their CVs, they are not someone successful whose expertise you would seek for something as critical as the future of your child. 3) It ended up being a nerve-wrecking tug of war. We constantly trying to get the service we paid for, and instead we're being constantly pushed to buy higher packages with the excuse that "what we want needs more time". 4) Even a reputable SAT prep book ended up giving a much better support than their "certified SAT teachers". read more

J.H My Son needed help with his overall writing and reading skills, I called and spoke to a team member at Prepskills, and she explained about this program that they have called PrepEssentials; as the only program of its kind in Canada, PrepEssential is geared toward EQ skills development for children to maximize success with a growth mindset. she told me that the program helps with Leadership skills, Public Speaking, writing and reading, I was a bit skeptical at first like with all these other programs out there, but after the 4th class we started to see our son asking us during the week that he has a very important essay to complete in class, little did we know that he was referencing the weekend class at Prepskills! PrepEssentials class is not worth it - WASTE OF $3000 The classes are not executed well and there are so many issues, They just bunch up kids from grades 4 to 9 in the same class. So the material covered is not targeted and does not benefit all the kids. The class environment is distracting and the kids are unable to focus and participate. Classes are cancelled many a times for various reasons and the teacher is always late. The administration does not accept when concerns are raised and blames the child for any struggles/difficulties. They are just focused on money and do not have the mindset to offer good quality service. read more

Joanna, Thank you for your response and the offer to roll over the hours for the February administration of the ACT. I would like to do that. I want to take the time to clarify two points. It saddens me that in my private mails to your company during this last week I was told that I would have to forfeit any hours not used by December 2016. However, once in a public forum Prepskill's opinion quickly changed. Please take the time to research the communications I have sent to your customer service team since October 13, 2016 to see if as a business owner you are pleased with their response to customer dissatisfaction. Secondly, I take offense to the insinuation that my son did not or is not capable of reaching a target score. I never discussed a target score with your company or his tutor. One would think that setting target goals would be part of a test prep program and it was not. I shared a score report of a previous test date in hopes that it could be a part of the action plan for the test prep. It was never acted upon. Prepskills did not provide the services offered on the website. I would like to discuss that with you in detail if you so choose. Thanks. read more

Prepskills is awful, too bad I cannot give them minus points, as they are the worst company I ever dealt with. I enrolled my gifted son in their program, and either the teacher would not show up (with no notification whatsoever, so we would drive for an hour to find an empty classroom), either (when he did show up) would just have casual conversations with the 4 students in the class for the majority of the lesson. They are extremely expensive and have provided no value. So much that my kid was begging me every time not to take him there. After the lessons finished, I was harassed by numerous sales people from this company, and all of them promised to take my name out of their database, but years later I am still receiving phone calls and emails from them. And usually they call me at work. Talking about not caring about their customers!!! It does not matter what I say! They will do whatever they want, as if I don't matter. read more

Other than the poor customer service this DOES NOT prepare you at all for the SAT. As someone who has gotten a 1600 on the test many times, and had my child enroll in this program, I can confirm this. The SAT is a very carefully and well designed test with a specific type of questions. For one example of how the SAT is designed, the English section requires you to be in a very specific "SAT" mindset, there is no inferring involved in the exam and there is only one UNDENIABLE answer to each question. You can easily learn more about this by a simple search. This "official" and self-deemed "accurate representation of the SAT" test was the complete opposite of that, their questions were all over the place and extremely poorly designed. The company couldn't even do simple research to figure out how the SAT test makers write their test, 80% of the kids taking the exam know how the SAT is designed. I promise you you are 100% better off doing official practice tests / past QAS or going on the SAT reddit page. PrepSkills is a gift to my understanding of the North American education standard testing which is very different from what happens in other continents. We were introduced to PrepSkills when my son was in grade 8. The PrepSkills teacher was very engaging with the students and the parents. She provided us with a report at the end of every class and ensured to highlight the success points as well as opportunities for improvements. The greatest help was the strategic approach that needs to be applied when taking the SSAT test. This was a new concept for me as a parent, because the strategy I used for standardized test was completely this opposite. My son and the family got the guidance we need to support him in successfully preparing for his SSAT test. In addition the interview preparation sessions adequately prepared my son to meet with the various admissions officials in the schools he applied to. read more

I'm living in Canada for 14 years and until now whomever I connected with, the Businesses, persons, colleagues, retail stores, dentists, hospitals, I experienced a great customer experience everywhere. But when I joined my daughter in Prepskills that's the moment, my trust is broken. This is the worst experience and no value for our money and time. The courses are very expensive, I thought they give quality teaching and organize in a professional way. The coordinator is very poor in communications, the teacher was off but she never informs the students and parents, we were waiting infornt of the institute and we have to return back as the doors not opened. This is not one time, I experienced more than 3 times within 6 classes. I fighted to give back my money, they never do and they never respect our time. Don't even consider this institute and waste your money and time. Worst expereince in my entire life, and this is where I never get $1 worth value of their services for over $1600. I just don't want anyone else to fall for this scamming place like we did. We enrolled our daughter along with her other friends to this Prepskills Inc. We paid $2395 +HST and down the drain. They hired the teacher who is totally unprofessional and unqualified. When we addressed the issue to the company, they are very defensive. Do not use PrepSkills if you want any flexibility with curriculum, schedule, make-ups or refunds. They agreed prior to signing up to modify the program. They did not deliver. Also, many emails were not returned. We were overall very disappointed. We paid upfront, and finished half the hours. They would not modify the program to go a bit slower, over more lessons as promised. They have a no refund policy, We asked to speak with Joanna, the founder, several times and there was no follow through by them. Very disappointing. read more

We had a horrible experience. We spent $160 per hour for private professional qualified SAT tutoring and they outright lied about the tutors previous experience. When I called they were rude, would not guarantee the education promised, refused a refund and were very unprofessional. Needless to say, they took our money and my daughter was NOT prepared for this important test. I would not recommend prepskills to anyone. Absolutely horrible.
