This place is hilarious…read more Nestled in the surburban-y nowhere of South Ealing is this strange and wonderful place. I'd heard of West Five. It has an ambiguous reputation, meaning my imagination ran wild with the all kinds of grott and depravity it could be. This place blew my expectations. I imagined some tacky bar with large dancefloor and disco-balls galore. Some attempt to rival the Soho scene. Oh No. It's a pub. A really big pub. Traditional pub sign hanging high outside proudly coloured in rainbow. Inside, aside from the purple-pink neon bar it's your local. Good selection behind the bar and really reasonable prices. The staff are unpretentious and friendly. There's a real feeling of community here, everyone knowing everyone, instead of everyone sleeping with everyone. We went on a Friday, the evening started early with great entertainment. A wonderful gentleman playing you show tune classics on the stunning grand piano in one section of the bar. We moved from the dance classics to join him. He took requests and invited us up to sing. It was a wonderful atmosphere for friends catching up. Moving on from civilised sing song and chat we take up our space on the dancefloor and get ready for the head-liner. A fantastic caliber of drag act entertained us. Far from your dodgy man in a dress was this wonderful entertainer that warmed us up for an energetic night on the dancefloor. This pub is great for groups. Pool table, seating, different spaces for different crowds and a good atmosphere. It's not always very busy, even on this particular Friday it was no where near full, and it was quite clear they were mainly audience for the headline act. Don't get me wrong, it's still all kinds of camp, disco balls included and the ladies leave a lot to be desired but it's got a lot of soul. I wish this place was not in the arse crack of no where, but I suppose if it was, it wouldn't be the same.

This is my favorite gay venue in the whole of London!…read more The place is just great, it's big, got friendly staff and something for everyone. Bingo nights, karaoke nights, quiz nights, DJ's, drag shows, a massive garden, a piano lounge, big dance floor, comfy sofas, yeah, everything you could wish for when you want a night out! Another reason for this being my favorite place is that the people who go there seems more relaxed than in central London. Less artificial and pretentious. There is also a big mix between girls and boys, women and men, straights and gays, in all ages! If you want a good and fun night out, or just somewhere to chill, this is your place!

They have games table, sofas and high tables which we sat on. They also have TV screens playing the latest tunes and throwbacks as well,( which was good to hear) plus sport. The bar staff was friendly. I ordered a double Pimms for £4:20 which i think is kinda cheap. I also got to taste a beautiful french beer, which Ive forgotten the name of. My friend ordered me a ribs with curly fries and onion rings. Although the ribs were lovely and soft, they needed seasoning and bad! Mann i wish i brought my All purposing seasoning just to give it a kick. The fries were okay, but i loved the onion rings. This meal was £6 which you can't go wrong. They sell pub food on the menu. The ladies toilet were....well could of been better, doors off hinges, no hand wash. My friend who is an expert on this place, was like "they sill have not sorted out this issue" This pub has a young vibe, which you tell when you walk in, and when you get served. They also have live music,on certain days. Would I go here again....yeah for cheap drink and to check out their live music.

Large inside space, plenty of teles for screening all the games etc. Food is alright, nothing special. Drinks are cheap and cheerful, making a friday night out after work a lot easier on the pockets. Needs more lighting, a pub for everyone, young or old! Only spend an hour or two here and move on!

I have never experience such rude, unhelpful staff, we were a large group who spent a lot of money here but we wont make that mistake again and will never return. I will never spend another penny in this bar! All the staff look miserable and are rude and unhelpful. To busy to make a hot drink. Couldn't be bothered to get a packet of crips for my daughter. Unless you were a local and ordered a pint they were disinterested. Not a single one of the staff behind this bar should be in customer facing roles they don't have an ounce of customer service between them. After ordering drinks, starters, mains and desserts for a family of 5 as part of a larger group who must have racked up over £1k across the afternoon we asked if it was possible to order a small portion of a Sunday roast for our baby (18 months) who was getting hungry as we approached dinner time, the barman's response to my wife was "if I ask the chef for that he will tell me to fcuk off", on what planet do you think that is acceptable? A simple no would have ben fine. Utterly shocking and unacceptable! They have clearly spent a lot of money on this bar, the garden and facilities are great but it needs an entire new team of staff with decent levels of customer service and perhaps a personality or a smile! Don't waste your money in a place which such rude unhelpful people.

Plenty of tables inside and a large lawn area with more tables. Dogs not allowed. The vegetable tart was good. On site parking. I liked my haloumi burger, it was fried just enough, with tomato, lettuce and gherkin. Placed on a wood board, which is not wide enough. I don't mind when they serve food like this, but I had to cut my burger very carefully to make sure nothing fell off. You might be thinking Matt G, why are you eating a pub burger with a knife and fork?! Use your hands lime the rest if us! In retrospect this does make sense. But they did serve me silver ware. There is also a pool table in the back room.
