We have now installed 2 pools at 2 different properties with Prestige Pools. After selling our first property, it was an easy decision to decide who to use to build us another pool. We put in the Twin Key with concrete in our first home and then the Shenandoah pool with pavers for our second pool. We had to provide a drawing to our HOA with our first pool and Shane made the process easy with his drawing software. It was approved immediately. Our second home had some structural and political challenges in dealing with the HOA and Shane was with us every step of the way and took over much of the headache in helping us formulate a presentation and ideas that were satisfactory for HOA approval. Shane is a very nice, knowledgeable, and low pressure type of person to deal with. I wouldn't want any other pool company on my property and I truly believe in the quality of his work and his expertise because he has done so many pools and the finished product is amazing. Shane and his crew are very professional, they keep the site cleaned up daily, and they make sure it is done right. The amazing part is once he orders your pool and it shows up, it is in the ground around 3-5 days after they break ground and then you get to see the real magic happen. They can have your pool in and finished in around 3-4 weeks total. Throughout the process, Shane is very good with checking in to make sure you are happy with the way things are going. There are continuous decisions to be made when building like picking tile, deciding where to put the concrete/pavers, water feature placement, etc. and Shane is very good at giving several creative options because he's done it so many times. In the beginning of the process, he draws out the pool on your lawn and provides several display boards and literature as well as provides samples so you can see what you are getting. Initially we interviewed several other pool installation companies in town, but upon meeting Shane we felt an immediate connection and felt he understood what we were trying to accomplish in renovating our backyard and incorporating a pool to compliment our natural garden-style setting. Our venture was quite difficult because we had a woody backyard on a steep slope with many different elevations. I read 2 one star reviews before beginning my post. All I can say is wow... I am so very sorry for any customer who had an experience unlike ours. From start to finish it was seamless.....even with build /completion occurring during Hurricane Florence. We did as much research as we could prior to contacting a pool builder. We reached out to 2 local companies because neighbors with pools had good things to say about both. Luck just connected us with Prestige Pools first. Jordan was our contact person. I know about sales. I know about patronizing and stroking the customer. I also know about making your expectations clear , having a mutual understanding about a process and getting things in writing. From day one our experience was right on target. The workers showed up as scheduled and on time. Pricing was consistent....no hidden fees. No upcharging. No pressure sales. We felt and still feel we got a quality job and are very satisfied at this point. I agree with other comments about the hard working guys at Prestige Pools. The pool was in the ground, water in it and no concrete when the hurricane hit. These guys (including Jordan) showed up throughout the hurricane event to clean out sand, add salt, etc and to ensure the pool stayed in good shape! TNT Concrete (Blake, Eddie and another guy) were at our house just days after the hurricane to pour the concrete. They were so nice....so helpful..and did an absolutely amazing job!! Start to finish, even with a hurricane, our experience was a really good one! I found the communication to be right on target. This was going to be the first time that we would ever have a "real" pool, so I did a TON of research for this project. It was one of the main reasons that my wife had agreed to purchase a home on our large lot, despite the fact that the house itself needed quite a bit of clean-up. I was determined to make sure we picked the right pool company to get this job done. After meeting with three pool builders, we chose Prestige Pools and it was definitely the right decision for us. Their representative was Jordan Whitaker, and quite frankly, he was the main reason we chose Prestige. His presentation was so thorough that he answered almost all of the questions that I'd expected to ask. I also appreciated the fact that he was more than a sales rep; he would actually be the one supervising the entire build as well. He was very helpful with picking out the pool and its details, such as the jump rock, the perfect pool color and the water fountains. He explained everything from start to finish and made sure we knew exactly what to expect throughout the process. He was always available to answer questions or recommend trusted people to use for landscaping, fencing, and more. I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Matt and Murillo, too. They were the main guys on our project. Their attention to detail was incredible! ------DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY------ As a business owner I never like to leave a small business a poor review (I have only done it one other time), but as a business owner I would also work to care for a client if things went wrong in order to make things right. Our pool project has gone from bad to worse. We signed/paid for our project in November...here we are in May and we are still dealing with an incomplete project and workmanship issues. We have tried to be filled with grace and have made adjustments and concessions along the way, when at the end of the day issues are overcome only to be replaced by new issues. I have asked the owner to come over countless times and he will not. The project manager Jordan will commit things to us only to have the commitment undermined by the owner Shane. They have selectively responded to and ignored communication. You should read the many other 1 star reviews and notice the common thread. Not worth risking so much money with this company. Wish I would have used a different company. My neighbor started their concrete pool 2 weeks before me and they are already done. This fiberglass pool company bragged about how much better they are than concrete until they got my money, and all I have seen is that I wish I would have gone with my neighbors concrete pool company. As I have seen on the other 1star reviews, they will likely respond to this with blame on me and many excuses. What a breeze! Working with Shane and the crew at Prestige Pools has been one of the easiest experiences in working with a contractor that we have ever had. After interviewing four separate pool contractors, we selected Shane and Prestige Pools for many reasons. From the time that Shane entered our back yard, it was obvious that he knew pools inside and out and he loved helping customers understand how easy it can be to have a pool installed. When he said, "no problem, we can do it - we can take care of it all", he truly meant it. Once the contract was signed and dates affirmed, the work began and the process was completed as promised. Prestige Pools of Wilmington installed my family's fiberglass pool in 2013. We wanted to give it a couple of season's use to ensure construction & equipment held up properly before providing a review. Now that we've started our 3rd Summer season without any issues, we can say the entire experience has been excellent. The first time we met Shane was very pleasant. We were interviewing a few pool builders and Shane made sure to walk us through the entire process so we would know what to expect and allow us to make an informed decision. We ended up going with a salt water system with a variable speed pump and have no regrets. Shane was also able to get us an upgraded finish for our pool at no extra cost! Shane provided great input regarding the pool's location in our yard. We ended up relocating the rear stairs to allow the pool to be placed in the optimal location. Prestige Pools of Wilmington did an amazing job installing my fiberglass swimming pool! Jordan was my project manager and he seriously made the process seamless. When we chose to put in a pool we literally had no idea where to begin...we called around town to a few places and Jordan from Prestige Pools was not only the first person to call us back (same day) but the only person who called us back within a week...we are so happy he did! June 22, 2015 This is a review for Prestige Pools of Wilmington. We purchased our home last September knowing that we wanted to install a pool in the backyard. My husband contacted Shane with Prestige and I have to say that we have been extremely impressed. Our yard was a challenge due to being on a hill along a creek. The complicated job required following local ordinances as well as CAMA guidelines. Our project required more than just the install of a pool; Shane had to oversee the construction of retention walls, new brick work and a total rework of the stairs to our back porch. All along the way, Shane was with us to make sure that our vision of the pool would work within the confines of our yard. Jordan was very clear about the product and explained the process. I got exactly what I expected and more with his experienced advice. My contract price did not change.
