His wife who took our phone call told us he would be out in the next couple days and he sure was! The pool store told me it would probably be at least 6 to 8 weeks before they could get anybody out and referred me to Bethesda Pools NC very grateful and did a great job! Luckily, I found Thornton Pool Service! After calling Rob (founder/owner), he immediately returned my call, showed up within the day, and gave me a detailed assessment THAT MADE SENSE AND DIDN'T CONFUSE ME! On top of that, his prices were very affordable, and reasonable. He got my pool looking and operating like brand new, and educated me on how to maintenance it weekly, which is rare for a service to do; as it's usually in a company's best interest that you're clueless as how to service whatever you need. After a month, I had discovered that the pool was poorly designed. The backwash conduit lead to the drain on the side of the pool. So, whenever I backwashed it, the dirty water would overflow from the drain and dump into the pool. Obviously, I called Thornton Pool Services immediately. His response time was immediate AGAIN! And he came over to assess the issue within the same day. After speaking with the original owner of the house, he said that his pool service recommended that we reroute the conduit from the pump, to the side yard. That would mean that we would have to install it under our concrete, which would cost us over $10k. Rob invented a solution that only cost us $100s! He's an honest, smart, and diligent service. I will never use anyone else's service, going forward!

I decided to look on my own and found Robert on a Tuesday, he gave me a repair quote that day, got the pump by Friday and repaired the pump on Saturday (very early)! He has a fantastic work ethic, is honest and reliable, something I'm finding less and less with the service people around here. Three weeks later, I received a bill stating we need to pay 318.00 which was more than quoted. I paid it. The part they replaced is now not working. We have tried to contact them for over a week and we get no reply. My husband has left several messages and nothing. I emailed them yesterday and haven't received any reply, either. I hate having to write bad reviews about any business but we have made several attempts to get this issue addressed without any response from the business.

She assisted me in resolving my issue and was quite patient and informative in her answer and explanation. After visiting the store, I was also informed that I could bring in water samples and they will test it and tell me exactly what I need to fix whatever issue. The store is extremely clean and well organized and fully stocked, the prices are reasonable and the staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable, which makes for a very nice combination in a specialty store. This will definitely be my provider of choice for all of my pool and spa chemicals in the future.

I wont trust the pool water testing service here without them calibrating the stores water test…read moresystem. The employee that tested my pool water sample was about to dump it into a container to draw from that had the previous customers pool water sample residue in it. I had to ask them to stop, rinse it with distilled water first before proceeding.. They had no distilled water on hand and used tap water and recontaminated my sample. I was primarily concerned with the Cyanuric Acid level, which is not present in tap water, so I ignored their process error. Their machines test result was way off on the CYA level, which, at that time, I trusted more than my own result from a DPD Taylor Test kit. My misplaced trust in this pool stores test process caused us to spend wasted money on pool draining and filling, together with start up chemicals. After this, I'll trust my Taylor Test kit results, as it seems this store is far more focused in selling customers the wrong amounts of the wrong pool chemicals based on their wrong water testing results.
