I picked up my car on July 1, and the very next day the check engine light came on. O'Reilly pulled the code -- O2 sensors. Since then, my car has surged on the highway when I let off the gas. That's not a small thing, that's a safety concern. The service team has been genuinely great through all of this -- quick to respond and patient with my questions. They got me scheduled the following week, and my car sat there Monday through Friday for the O2 sensor to be replaced. Then I learned the ECM part hadn't come in, so 10 days later I brought it back once it arrived. Same day the part was swapped, but the check engine light was still on, and it had to stay over the weekend for more diagnostics. For what it's worth -- I also test-drove a similar car at Autolocity in Ogden, and they wouldn't let me drive it because the check engine light was on and it "wasn't ready." Makes me wonder if the codes on my car weren't fully cleared before I drove it off Prestman's lot, and everything just resurfaced once I got it home. I've now been without a car for 10 days with no loaner offered, which just isn't what I expected after buying in good faith. I want to keep doing business here -- I'm not writing this to walk away, I'm writing it hoping Prestman makes it right. **Update: This is an update to my earlier review. I bought a 2024 Subaru Legacy from Prestman Auto. The day after I picked it up the check engine light came on, the car was surging, and several safety systems (EyeSight, lane assist, rear assist braking) were disabled. The service team was responsive and worked on the car, but after roughly three weeks of back-and-forth the lights came back on about 20 minutes after I left with the car. I called right away. They were devastated for me about the situation and had me bring it back. I spoke with the manager, Kai, who was professional, understanding, and didn't push back when I said I no longer wanted the car. They issued a full refund the next day. Kelton was patient and helpful while I looked at other vehicles and financed a different car with them. The initial experience was disappointing -- especially on a newly purchased vehicle. However, once the problems escalated, Prestman made it right by taking the car back, refunding me completely, and helping me move forward without further hassle. That level of accountability matters. Prestman Auto has great but intense and shark like service. If you do your research before coming in and you already know what you want then it's ok. I highly suggest searching up the VIN number of each car to see how bad the crashes are and just know that whatever cosmetic fixes were done here probably won't last for long . My daughter's bumper cracked from a shotty glue up job about a month after we bought the car. They just did a light paint over anything that looked bad and guess what... it doesn't hold up very long! Hopefully the rest of the car holds up better than the cosmetic fixes. It's a great deal for a kid car but you get what you pay for! read more

Update 06/19/2026 After 3 weeks, I finally got the transmission fixed on my 2017 Nissan Rogue repaired through Ken Garff Nissan. Please do your research before purchasing a vehicle, and PLEASE think twice before purchasing the Endurance Warranty. In my experience, the warranty process was extremely frustrating. The technician and I had to fight every step of the way just to get the repair approved. What they don't tell you is that even after paying your deductible, you may still have additional out-of-pocket costs. My deductible was $500, but I still had to pay $1,193.94 to get my transmission repaired after the claim was approved. Another issue is the rental car situation. You do not receive rental coverage until the repair is approved, and that approval process can take anywhere from a week to several weeks. During that time, you're left without transportation unless you have access to another vehicle. My advice: always have any used vehicle independently inspected before purchasing it, regardless of what the dealership tells you. Otherwise, you may find yourself making car payments on a vehicle that needs major repairs shortly after purchase and paying thousands more out of pocket to get it fixed. Update Review. 06/08/2026 I want to update my review of the 2017 Nissan Rogue I purchased a couple of months ago. Please do not buy any car from Prestman Auto. I was looking through some comments and discovered that many customers, like me, are experiencing issues with their cars. Jesse (salesman) is a conman I went to buy a 4Runner, looked at it test drive it and everything told me he would get brakes done and oil, and have the mechanic look it over and guess what, he didn't haha. Nothing but trouble. It's been two months since I bought the car and the check engine light came on. It was dignosised as the massive air flow sensor. Got the part and got it changed out and two weeks later the check engine light come back on. I got it diagnosed and it came back as the same code. I went to the dealership in person and they tried to put the blam on me and told me not there problem and ask me if I took the car to a micanice before buying it. If I could rate them any lower I would. bought a 2021 Subaru Forester from them about 14 months ago. In the time that I have owned it, it has needed 4 wheel bearings, two new axles, two new control arms, and now, even after replacing the axles, I'm told there is now an issue with my transmission. It's currently in the shop getting that work done on it for the third time since owning it. The warranty has already paid for itself in my case, luckily most of the issues have been covered somewhat. But I've still had to pay around 3K out of pocket for additional repairs. I've reached out to them to see if there is anything they can do and I got about as much help as I expected. I was told by the person I spoke with that they would look into it with their boss, and I never heard back. I know people have good experiences here, and the staff is really nice up front when you're buying a car from them, but that doesn't mean anything if they don't have long term customer service when they sell you a patchwork vehicle that is only a couple of miles from falling apart again. read more

I have had a horrible experience with 2 cars from this place, I won't go into details but it's been horrific. I will say that Brittany did a lot for me I. Getting issues taken care of but I'm still having issues my warranty won't take care of. Sales are great, service is down right horrible. I bought a 19 Ram in September of 2024, I was planning on writing a review regardless of my experience and just wanted to wait to see how the truck holds up. There were many issues with my purchase from Prestman auto but I would like to disclose that the staff were very nice. 1st issue, I flew in from another state to pick up the truck. I was told the truck was in great condition no real damage other then some very minor dings. I know it had a rebuilt title but the people I spoke with on the phone assured me that the truck was repaired professionally and did not have a bent frame. I asked twice about the frame and was told it was not bent. I come to get the truck it has a belt sounding noise other than that truck drives great. Well the belt squeak was lifters and it's 8k for a replacement The frame is definitely bent, the "professionals" altered the alignment of the body panels to hide it. I was able to see this once I got it home. They resprayed the front clip of the truck and the paint is close but doesn't match. It isn't noticeable until it gets wet. ITS NOW CHIPPING IN MANY PLACES ON THE HOOD. 2nd issue, I have a 780 credit score and wanted to finance part of the payment. Interest rates were likely going to be in the 6 percent range and was told even with the rebuilt title financing wouldn't be an issue and that I would likely fall in to that 6percent range. I ended up leaving there with a 11% interest rate... and was told just to refinance once I get home because I shouldn't be in that high of an interest loan... tired and just wanting to be home I was just over it. As I go to leave I asked if the truck will be washed before I leave because it was a little dirty during the test drive, I was assured it will be spotless. Get out there and it's still dirty, probably because once it gets wet it's obvious that the paint doesn't match. I asked again if it will be washed while I'm looking at the truck and the salesman told me it was washed. Again tired and over the experience I just wanted to be home and had a 10 hour drive so said F it. I realize there is a risk buying a vehicle with a rebuilt title but I now see I was definitely deceived on the trucks condition, given the opportunity I would not buy a vehicle again from Prestman, they seem definitely to say whatever you like to get you in the door. Over all the truck will need about 13k to look like a 45k truck. read more

Some advice for anyone looking to make a purchase here. As we know, they specialize in branded AKA salvage title vehicles. They're usually priced 1/3 or so below non-branded title vehicle pricing but will likely come with one of the following; - A smell if branded by flood or hurricane. - An electrical issue if by lemon AKA buyback. - Noise/Bad Paint/Body Panel Gaps if by branded/totaled by a collision. Don't rely on dealer to give you reason, just Google the VIN number in the listing and you'll see pictures of it wrecked, and also give you an explanation of the type of salvage it has in addition to what State it's coming from. So, for the advice, I'd recommend looking at one that was in a flood or damaged in the rear. I say flood because many large insurance companies will total entire dealership lots (100's) and dealerships like this will buy them, and you can usually find a really good car. Look under seats and bolts inside floor of car, and if rusted, don't buy it. That means water got inside the actual cabin. Also, look for cars that were wrecked in the back. With this, there's minimal electrical, no engine or transmission parts, so worst you'd have is misalignment of panels, noises or bad paint. Considering you get $1,000's off by buying here, you have to go in knowing what to expect. Most people don't do it but I'd recommend a body shop to inspect vs dealership. Also, don't buy the warranty. Many other people mention it here but that's where I got hosed the most. I paid over $3k for a warranty that was "premium" however both things that went wrong weren't covered. I was irritated but what was I gonna do? I was going to take it to the nearest dealer for the repair, except two different brand name dealerships have a policy of not working on branded title vehicles, so now what do I do? Luckily l was able to get outve the car but not without losing a few $$'s, and learning a lifelong lesson in the process - Stick to buying a year or three old vehicle with under 30k miles, and you'll be good. read more

It started when we expressed interest in a vehicle online. The manager followed up with us to see if we wanted to come in and see the vehicle or answer any questions we had. Not pushy, just helpful. We did go in to do a test drive and found that two of the three vehicles we wanted to see were in the shop having some type of repair or maintenance done. We did drive one, but the actual model we really wanted wasn't available. At one point, we were waiting for our sales rep to gather some information for us. While we waited, we enjoyed the massage chairs in the waiting area. Clever way to make guests feel comfortable during what could be a stressful activity. Ultimately, we found just what we were looking for elsewhere that was available that day for a test drive. I called and said that I was having a hard time seeing details on their photos because they're so heavily edited (pic attached -- it is extremely apparent that the saturation and contrast is heavily modified) and before I could finish my statement to say I needed to know if the headlights were smoked on this car, the salesman started calling me a jerk and acting like a total jerk himself. All because I rightfully pointed out that they are modifying their pictures and making it hard to see what the car actually looks like. I had an absolute 5 star experience with Ariana she was very pleasant she had a deal in the bag up until her manager started entering into the deal he was very unpleasant he had no leeway and there were obviously issues with the car and that it had fallen through the cracks which is understandable but he was asking me to deal with the price cause he was going to "fix it" which is understandable but I'd have to wait for repairs on a possible new buy? As well as there is clear and evident damage. The question I would ask is why wouldn't you lower price or work a deal if the customer and employee see that there are issues. The trunk didn't open as well as the panel was detached as well as the work that was originally done wasn't done correctly the body lines weren't aligned as well as there were paint issues like scratches and dings. Why wouldn't anyone buy a car then wait for it to be repaired for the same price ... anywhere else would understand that this was something that fell through the cracks and would have wanted to make a deal. They had a deal on the table I would've been willing to work with them if it wasn't for this manager Cody being an absolute dick. Don't call a customer "Buddy" and disrespect me and belittle me and make me feel uncomfortable as well as embarrassed that this is the manager that people have to look up to for an "example" I own a plumbing business I have the means to buy multiple cars through this company but they lost a high value customer. I will warn you- that I walked onto the lot with an expectation of only asking asking questions but ended up signing a contract the same day, haha! Their sales rep Robbie made it easy though by answering my questions directly, listening to my concerns, not venturing off into products I hadn't expressed interest in, and NOT trying to upsell me. He did in fact end up up-selling me! But I felt like it was my choice, because I left with a great car, a great warranty package, and a sticker price significantly less than any other locations/lots I found online. All of this allowed me to leave with a nicer model than I anticipated while feeling good & confident about it. BEWARE! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I bought a 2016 Acura MDX from them last year and within a few weeks, the paint on the bumper started to bubble and peel which continued to worsen as months passed by. Then the AC started to act up. As soon as summer came, i had the AC checked by the ACURA dealership in downtown SLC and was told that the car i bought was in a wreck before i purchased it, that the AC converter was wired wrong and that the bumper was not OEM and was painted the without the proper primer hence the bubbling and peeling. I contacted Prestman regarding this and was basically ignored. it cost me $2800 to get the AC repaired and the bumper was $1200 read more

Until it gets bought by a shop to do the repairs it's not really cared for. Then the repairs are minimum necessary. ZERO STARS. Today (8/2/25) @ Prestman Auto on 2685 South State Street in SLC, UT. I met with salesman C. Matthew Zollinger (Matt) who told me that in order to test drive a Toyota 4Runner they had available, that I needed to give them the keys to my car as collateral (which is fairly standard I suppose). After a short 5-minute test drive, I got back to the dealership and after a few minutes I realized my vehicle was gone! I immediately asked the employee where my car was, who took it, etc. etc. The first response I got was them telling me they're "probably" doing an appraisal. After I demanded my car, it took them more than 5 minutes to tell me the car was on its way back. They literally STOLE MY CAR!! I never gave anyone my permission to enter my vehicle at anytime. I waited for the so-called appraiser to return my vehicle, and when it returned there were 2 very young and unprofessional looking people (clearly these were NOT employees) inside. I can only imagine these f*cking idiots gave my keys to random strangers to test drive my poor baby! I had prescription meds in my car, firearms, and everything else! You f*cking irresponsible a**holes are lucky this didn't end worse. No one gave you the right to enter my vehicle, and even worse operate it without my knowledge! Pretty frustrated with my experience purchasing a jeep from Prestman for 27000 after I bought it the transfer case went out and the part was on backorder/ not being produced for 9 months according to jeep and multiple service centers. So my new car sat at a transmission shop for 9 months and ultimately told me the reason it failed was that when it was repaired they didn't put enough fluid in it which caused it to seize. I didn't buy the warranty so the fact that it was NOT repaired correctly and would inevitably break was caused by prestman, but I understand the 6205$ repair is on me as I didn't do a warranty and bought it as is. My frustration was added to because in my contract I put in there that they would get me a spare tire as it was missing one. The week I got my car back finally from the shop I went in the mountains (9 miles up) and got a blow out... went to put the spare on and not only was it not a full sized spare, but it was the wrong bolt pattern so I was stranded miles from cell service and any hope of help. I have been trying for 2 weeks to reach someone to get the spare tire I was supposed to get, but have not had any of my emails or calls returned and no one has answered the phone when I've called. So at this point I'd say buyer beware 0/10 do NOT recommend and am giving it 2 more days until I pursue legal action for breach of contract. Soooo frustrated. @prestman... you need to step up your service, quality of repairs, and it would be much appreciated if you could make this right and avoid prolonging and escalating an already very very frustrating situation. read more

These guys are flat out liars. Went to look at a 4Runner and come to find out it has a salvage title. All their cars have a salvage title and they try to sugar coat it by calling it rebuilt or reconstructed title. No matter how you look at a pig ; it's still a pig. Salvage cars sell for 1/2 the price of a clean title car. These crooks actually want more for their garbage cars than a comparable car with clean title. I am rating two stars because they tried to dismiss parts of the CarFax history I was looking at. It sounded good at first but after an hour it seemed like they were trying to cover stuff up. Not sure why yelp has so many negative reviews of this place. Google reviews seem to be more accurate. My dad runs a drivers Ed company and has bought 7 vehicles from Prestman. There is always a risk with buying cars, especially branded titles. But these guys are honest and value your experience.
