Saw another comment about how if you're not local the service people treat you like garbage. Made us drive 2 hours to tell us something they could tell us and admitted to diagnosing over the phone the day before. When we spoke about other issues said they didn't have time to look at it even though we had an appt and were on time. It was completely evident they wanted nothing to do with us and a comment was made "we didn't purchase the vehicle through them" so implied they don't care and backed that up by acting like it. read more

My husband and I went to Preston Honda in New Castle, PA today (9/3/24) to buy a new 2025 Honda CR-V Sport Touring model. They did not have the color I wanted and we asked if they could get the color from another dealership. We were told they have a hard time doing this and tried to talk me into another color but I wanted white. When I told them I found the model I wanted in Pittsburgh they changed their story and all of a sudden they put 2 calls out to their contacts and said they should hear back from them in about 20 minutes. We went to lunch and never heard back. We called the dealership in Pittsburgh, the vehicle I was interested was available, we drove over, they had the car sitting out front waiting for us, we did the paperwork and we drove home. Apparently, this dealership trades vehicles with Preston Honda too. Why they lied to us that they had no luck in locating a car for us is beyond me. We would have preferred to buy local but this dealership had no interest in helping us. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!!! We did our own homework on locating the model we wanted and color and found ourselves. Couldn't have dealt with a better dealership in Pittsburgh. There are some service departments who are good at solving customer problems, and there are others who are not. The service department at Preston Honda in New Castle is concerning in the way they process problems. I made an appointment and brought my 2023 Ridgeline into the service department for its first oil change. I told the service writer M___ that when I made the appointment for the oil change, I asked if they could just throw my Ridgeline on an alignment machine, to please check the front end alignment, and was told that they could do that..my Ridgeline had been slightly pulling to the right since we bought it. I also said, I'm aware that the crown or slight slope on most highways can slightly pull a vehicle to the right... He ran my Ridgeline through the automatic alignment checker in the service entrance but said it didn't register. I said okay, as long as you have someone check the alignment before I leave. His next comment was not appreciated; "Honda doesn't pay us to check vehicle alignments." This was the beginning of a concerning dialog. I told him that if it needed an alignment, I would pay for an alignment, the cost according to M____ was $119. I could not make the service writer understand that I was not only there for my first oil change, but also wanted to get to the bottom of the possible alignment problem. It had a slight pull since the day it was delivered to me. I asked if they could just run a check on the front end, and if it was not an alignment issue, I could possibly turn my attention to maybe a tire causing the pulling. But I guess they don't do anything here without making sure there's a charge for it. The next thing I noticed.?? I saw my Ridgeline leaving the dealership. I was shocked, that my being there for an oil change, and asking to check an alignment warrants means taking a customers vehicle down the road to take it on a test drive to check the alignment.?? And wouldn't it make perfect sense if that's how this dealership is going to determine a vehicle is needing an alignment, that they would take the owner along on the check ride? Really.?? Poor communication here. When my Ridgeline came back into the dealership, I went back and talked with M____. He then said he was trying to get my alignment covered under warranty.?? But I didn't ask for that..we never did find out if it really needed an alignment...?? After 20 minutes of this confusion, I asked to have my Ridgeline brought back to me, and all service cancelled at Preston Honda. I won't be bringing my 2023 Ridgeline back there for anything. I also noticed most of the good reviews of this dealership, were 4, 5, and 6 years ago...?? read more

Don't go here, they sell you vehicles and when you go to do financing they add all the garbage thinking your okay with that.

I had my car detailed with the interior and exterior package. I love Preston and they do a great job with everything else that they put their heart into but at this particular location, they did not pay attention to detail. Preston Honda sets a standard for customer service that cannot be matched. Matt with internet sales was very easy to work with and this enabled a lot of the usual BS associated with car buy to be eliminated. Has an issue with my purchase 2 days after and contacted Vic he handled it almost immediately. I will be back in the future way to change the game Preston Honda. read more

I was searching online for a used SUV and ending up finding an 08 CRV. I came here to test drive it, and then came back to purchase it. The whole process went great. The salesman that helped me was super friendly, and the lady that did the financing was also. I came back a few days later because I noticed a slight pull to the right. I got it serviced for free and they gave it a car wash without me even asking for one. They keep it very clean and tidy here. The waiting area is comfy and they even have a little area for small children to play which came in handy for me. They are also very willing to wiggle with pricing and all that. Don't ever go there for anything. I bought a used car there and they lied about some service that had been done and did not follow through with sales agreement terms. They would do nothing to make it right except be rude and call me names like "kid". I am a 34 year old nurse with a family so I am not exactly a "kid". Basically this place is a prime example of why people hate to buy used cars and why "used car salesman" has such a negative connotation. Also there service department is incompetent at best. Hi my name is CeeJay M . I'm not one to write a negative comment at all . I just don't go back usually . On 8 -15 -18 I drove out to Preston Honda to look at a Mustang that was on the internet . I had an appointment ! When I arrived after driving an hour and a half the car was very dirty to start with . The salesmen Paul took the blame and had it washed so I could look at it better . I felt my salesmen Paul was straight forward and honest and wasn't pushy at all . A plus for the dealership . But I cant say I felt the same about the manager who was quick to say they would auction the car as we started to talk about a deal . So I left and shook everyone's hand and said thank you . The next day I heard from the owner Bobby and he explained his process of his pricing . Afterwards we decided to go back and look at it again on 8 -18 -18 . We ended up purchasing the mustang that day . Here's where the disappointment is for us . First there was a title problem as it wasn't there to be signed but was assured they would have it taken care of and would have a driver come up to our home and we could sign it. At first we were uneasy but because it was a large name dealership and we had bought another vehicle from Preston in the recent past we said ok . 2 We also had a problem with a Carfax mileage that was on there we owe to be corrected and was again assured that would be taken care of . 3 The second key was damaged and was also on there we owe to be fixed . Its been almost 30 days since purchase and haven't heard one word . I called on 8- 5 -18 to make sure they didn't forget us . I was on hold for 24 minutes and finally hung up and called back . I wasn't happy but I was nice as I explained my unhappiness to a manager and explained my concerns , He listened and took my number with a promise someone would get back to me in a couple days . Its been over a week and no call ! I've read there reviews and believe them to be true and positive ones but for us like I said our experience isn't the same . To have us on hold that long , not return our calls or update us simply has us feeling like we bought the car now good luck . My 82 year old mother went there to have her 2016 civic serviced for a battery issue which they changed under warranty. While there they told her that her brake fluid had moisture in it and it had to be changed and would cost 110.00 dollars.They also told her it could be dangerous to drive if she did not have it changed. My mother called me and after talking with the service writer and service manager I come to find out that they lied to her and that the car was showing a maintance code because of the car being almost 3 years old. Who changes brake fluid on a car with just 1358 miles and uses scare tatics to sell this to a 82 year old widow. Before leaving my mother was told by an employee that they are instructed to this by management. BEWARE!!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The service department has the greatest customer service team who are all so nice and helpful, but thats about it. I had purchased a 2013 Subaru Legacy on August 20th, 2019, a nice newer car with no issues, that was disclosed to me that is. (Carfax in hand), so I was trustful. The day i brought it home I had noticed a headlight out, even though it was "thoroughly examined" before purchasing. I brought it back the next day to get fixed, no problem, completely covered. Within a week i had the same issue, AGAIN. Brought it back it was covered, no problem. AND AGAIN, within another few weeks, my headlight was out. Brought it back to the service department and was under the assumption it was an electrical issue. The service department examined my vehicle and managed to come back with a $700 repair that they again covered due to lack of knowing of this issue. When it became cooler outside and needed the heat on in the vehicle i noticed that the heat blew cold air. I never drive long distances so i was just under the assumption that my car wasn't completely warmed up. When I noticed this to be an issue i contacted Subaru of Boardman to look over this, thus having to be there anyway for a recall. They contacted me informing me of needing an entire new heater core and a thermostat. That repair came to roughly $1,300. The service manager at Subaru of Boardman had told me that the heater core was in bad shape and if looked over properly in august, it would had been provident at that time. They instructed me to contact the dealership where purchased(Preston Honda) because it was not looked over at the time of purchase. Spoke with a Bryan, he said he could not help me and i quote "I can't fix everyone's car in New Castle, you purchased as is" Do not buy a used vehicle from this establishment. read more

As we entered the building we were immediately greeted warmly by Bobby Preston who noticed that his staff was a little overwhelmed at the moment. He took the time to introduce himself, ask us our names and what brought us here. He came across as genuine and friendly. He helped get us started with getting our trade-in appraised and getting a vehicle we wanted to test drive brought up. He handed us over to Mark for us to go on a test drive. Mark was also very friendly and did not come across as just trying to sell us. He wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to see everything with the car and answer any and all questions we had. After the test drive we sat down with Mark and he provided us with the offer. The car was priced right so there was no need to go through a laborious negotiation. We did want to see if they could take a few hundred off the top to make it closer to a price we would be most comfortable with. They were able to help us out. We also got a respectable price for our trade-in. We agreed to the terms and shook hands. We were then handed over to do our finance/paperwork. The process was very smooth and pleasant (a complete improvement from when we bought our last car at another dealership). There were some optional service and warranty offers given at this time but we did not receive any pressure or guilt to add them. Since this was a used vehicle, it was traded in with only one key. When we mentioned that, they were able to program a second key for us at no cost. They also fixed a tire pressure light that was on during the test drive. I dropped off my Odyssey minivan to have the cable on the passenger sliding door fixed. While it was in their Service Department they managed to break the cable on the driver's side sliding door. I was informed that I would have to pay for this to be repaired even though it was working completely fine when I dropped it off. Very poor customer service and total lack of integrity...making a customer pay for something that was broken by the technicians at the dealership. Bought a new 2014 CRV at Preston, and never had a problem till now. Now that I have a problem, all the sudden there is little they will do for me.
