At no additional charge, Time to Play generously gave us extension cords and some extra gear (including cones to make an obstacle course for the ride-on horses). We paid only $200 for the moonwalk, as we chose to pick it up and set it up ourselves. Set-up was quick and easy, and the printed instructions they provided were super helpful. It was a bit hard to find. The place it was showing on the map was sort of the opposite place it ended up being. It showed that it was around Ikea and Black Rock, but instead it was on the other side of the expressway in an unmarked building with limited signage. But finally we did arrive. Not all of the displays were working yet or filled, but as stated, it is a bit early into the season. It was a decent size store filled with a lot of the full seasonal merch. I am sure we will be back to make some final decisions when it gets closer to Halloween, but for now we were just window shopping. My child almost bought a mug, but wanted to wait and see if a greater selection was available before committing her hard earned money. Fun place. Quite a few customers were also eager to shop around early.

Things were not super clearly organized and it took me a little time to find what I was looking for. The selection was ok but not great. There were a lot of scary costumes and accessories if that's what you're looking for. Needing a few items for my kids, I found the child costume section, which was definitely anemic. I would recommend buying kids things elsewhere. Other than a handful of branded costumes, and many candy buckets, there wasn't much else. They were well staffed, though, with nice associates and once I found what I needed, I was in and out rather quickly.

Most other Gordon locations I've been to do not have a hot bar. I can also find a variety of Chicago-style giardiniera that taste better than brands found at other supermarkets in the area. If you do not have a Costco or Sam's Club membership, Gordon is the next best place to buy condiments and snacks for a large event. The line is usually not bad, but one evening, I had to wait for 15 minutes to purchase one item. Only one person was working the register, even though other workers should have helped sooner with opening another register. That was the only time I felt frustrated with my shopping experience.

The store was nicely laid out , very organized and nicely displayed. I found about a dozen items I could use in my travels, including a little doormat to flop down in my motel rooms when it's raining so I can wipe my feet. It drives me crazy when I track mud and dirt into the room and then I walk on it in my bare feet. Dollar Tree doesn't always have what I need but they sure have a lot of it whether I'm home or traveling in another state. Oh yeah, the bathroom in this one was decent too. You have to ask for a key to go in it.

The price was quite reasonable I think for a premium hot chocolate, $4.99 for a dark hot chocolate with Mayan spice (cinnamon, cayenne, etc.) added. There was an option to add whipped cream and marshmallows but I opted out. The cocoa was excellent - delightfully chocolatey and definitely spicy - it definitely had a kick. I would order again in a heartbeat - maybe it's a good thing for my body that I don't live that close to Plymouth. They also have a nice array of chocolates, very similar to classic chocolate shops. I bought a couple of dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate honeycomb chips for my mother and she loved them and she can normally be very picky about these type of chocolates. She said they were very fresh and the cherry flavor of the chocolate covered cherries was excellent. These were probably her favorite chocolates she's had in the last ten years or so. Alpine Chocolate Haus was definitely a winner and we'll be back whenever we're in Plymouth.

Being a Michigan company, I am surprised that they don't have Guernsey ice cream? That would be a welcome improvement for sure! Purchased 3-4 chocolates to go, I think one with cherries, another with maple, maybe a coconut, and a Buckeye.
